Background: For much of her life, Renetta was a fairly awkward and unsocialble person. Though she suffered no specific trauma or excessive bullying, she often found socializing and being around people intimidating and exhausing. Despite her trouble making friends, she was generally a happy child, and found enjoyment in activities both physical and intellectual. In particular, she found a strong passion in running. She seemed to have a natural aptitude for it, and the the sensation of her muscles burning and her lungs aching for breath as her body flew across the ground was like nothing else in the world
However, when Renetta entered high school, things became harder. Her shyness and social insecurity came to a head, and she had a great deal of trouble befriending or even interacting with people. Her attempts at talking consisted of mostly stutters and hesitations, and before long she would give up. This cycle repeated until she considered herself a social outcast, afraid to talk to girls and petrified of boys, generally terrified of rejection and failure. Wost of all, her anxiety became so great that she ultimately passed on trying out for the school track team. Though she performed well in school and continued running on her own, many of her days were spent sequestered in her studies, books, or video games.
When the time came to apply to colleges, Renetta was given an application that she hadn't asked for - one to a school called "Shokushu". The girl was skeptical at first, but upon further investigation, she discovered the school offered a unique, almost high-shcool-like atmosphere, socially, academically, and even athletically. And though high school had not been kind to Renetta, she considered her poor experience to be entirely her own fault - the consequences of missed opportunities and regretful decisions. And here was this school - an all girls school at that - practically offering her a second chance at all of it. Ultimately, the promise of redemption was too tantalizing to resist, and Renetta applied. Upon receiving her acceptance letter, she began packing almost immediately, determined to do things right this time.
Psychological Profile: Renetta is highly introverted, and has a habit of keeping to herself and avoiding interaction with others. This largely stems from an insecurity about herself, somewhat regarding her physique, but mostly her social skills and personality. However, she is trying to overcome her shy nature and put herself in touch with others, even if doing so makes her uncomfortable.
Renetta is somewhat more outgoing while exercising, particularly running, but her shyness makes approaching these situations in the first place extremely intimidating.
Personality: Although very shy, Renetta is a very kind and gentle person. She's an excellent listener, and makes an effort to pay attention to her friends - or at least she did when she had friends. She's rarely judgemental, and tries to see the best in everyone. Being invited to socialize or be friends tends to make her happy, although she may immediately become nervous about making a mistake. She's disciplined, hard working, and takes her studies seriously, even if she doesn't give her successes in them as much recognition.
