And I love that scene, although I always have to quibble about the translation- it's always translated as "1000 years of pain", but "shi" means death. :S I don't know what the subtitlers were smoking... But it's still a great scene, lol. Poor Narissa, her butt will never be the same.

And I didn't see the Picard "full of win" face before I posted this, but it's quite possibly the best expression I've ever scene that actor conjure. And I agree. This thread is full of teh winz.

It does make a certain amount of sense from what I've seen of your writing, since Antipode seems both opportunistic as the other monsters and much less brutal. It's been amusing for me to read Antipode scenes... he's civil, in his own monstery way. I think that's about as close to romance as you'll get in this setting.

Ha! And the Picard 'full of win' face has always been my favorite ever since I saw it on the Next Generation show. I've always been imagining what would happen if Picard and Kirk were stuck in a cave together, and I've had some interesting scenarios, heh.

Aiyero, indeed. As I said in my pm, he's as close to romantic as is possible within these rules. I try to make him different, and I think I've succeeded in creating a character that's unique, even on this island of monsters, demons, and tentacle monsters. And that uniqueness exists even though he's basically a generic tentacle monster in function!

Our hero has just grabbed that "stalactite" to club the big, bald, bad guy. But now that scene has a whole different feel. Poor cave.
