I think I get what you're saying. Honestly, the most contact I had with RPG's (outside of video games that is), was primarily a group playing some game or another (think it was DnD, not sure) at lunch while I was in high school, and later I got pulled into a game called Vampire by a friend. Sort of enjoyed that, mostly turned out to be hanging out and talking to people, with the occasional game of rock-paper-scissors. Suppose that was almost entirely roleplay, with the other being more of the roll play.

Either way, the first looked somewhat interesting, and I did have some fun with Vampire. Would likely play something like that again, but, nothing like it around where I live now.

I hear you there, I've never played Vampire or it's affilates (Werewolf, Mage the Ascenion and Changling though I played the later once) but have heard that they were more story orientated then a game like D&D where it's easy to dismiss roleplaying and just roll dice aand focus on combat orientated stuff. It all depends on the game master though with the later and their style of play that emphases things and can draw out more character development then most games.

A bit late, but welcome

Played a lot of Vampire in my day. And D&D. And a lot of other table top games. Since I was 9..

I didn't really get into anything like that until I was 16. Might have just been the friends I had then though.

That's even 3 years before I started.
