Background: Samantha’s father, Akamu, was a real estate investor based in Hawaii, and her mother, Colleen, was an Irish heiress who wanted to move to the tropics and wile away her unearned riches. They met on a cruise, he foisting beach-front condos onto rich geriatrics, and she prowling for exotic bachelors. Samantha was the natural result. As the pinnacle of a lifetime of salescraft Akamu prevailed upon Colleen to live with him in Hawaii. A year later he vanished in a typhoon plying his trade, and was presumed deceased.
Samantha grew up in an environment of bemused neglect. Colleen had the money and a keen enough sense of entitlement that she provided a long string of housekeepers, maids, tutors, and sitters to keep Samantha safely estranged from her concerns. Of course, with the alluring jungles and foam scattered beaches constantly available Samantha spent more time covered in salt or slapping insects than she spent at home. Her various caretakers had inconsistent attitudes, some being more disinterested in her than even her mother, but because of a diligent few she did not entirely escape schooling.
At 12 Colleen thought that keeping her girl out of trouble meant boarding school. Samantha was packed off to California to continue her lessons in surfing, but now had to contend with organized classes and the quagmire of interpersonal politics. It was at this point she discovered how her outgoing behavior charmed the boys, and also how little their esteem meant to her. Thus she acquired a blithe popularity that kept her inured from ostracism until 16. A late bloomer, her proportions filled out exuberantly. She was proud of her enticingly profligate flesh, but much to the chagrin of her would-be admirers she preferred the fairer sex. With the confidence of well-developed youth she spent her next few years trawling beach hangouts and party pits for girls. Since it was California, there was no shortage of like minded women.
Samantha was head-hunted by Shokushu, who’d discovered her through a set of modeling photographs that had meandered through a network of dubious contacts. The gig had been something she’d nearly forgotten, an unimportant venture she’d agreed to because of the thrill, but Shokushu offered her a chance to make something more of her life. She didn’t see why not. After graduation she boarded a plane.
At Shokushu she has wasted no time joining extracurricular activities, notably the Tramps, and the swimming team. She is majoring in conservationist botany, with a minor in recreation administration.

Psychology: Effusive and extroverted, Samantha makes up for the lack of strong relationships in her life by cultivating many of them and appealing to authority by compulsively disregarding rules. She has a deep longing for attention and structure, and more importantly, someone she admires and trusts enough to provide them. Her ego, combined with exemplary good health, often make her seem too self-assured to need either however. She invests much of her self-worth in physical activity. As a consequence of her upbringing she is highly motivated, but also impatient, absent-minded, and confrontational.

Personality: She’s not exactly a social butterfly but she likes to mingle and finds ways to interject herself into groups. She comes off as daring and fearless, and has no problem belittling those who can’t match up to the capabilities expected by whatever group she belongs to, but ordinarily she’s engaging to an extreme, and is friendly and tolerant to virtually anybody when alone. Playfulness and energy characterize her.

Languages: English, a smattering of Hawaiian she halfheartedly picked up from the island.

Sexual characteristics: An up-front lesbian, she also possesses a healthy, unencumbered libido. Pain raises her dander and stimulates her nerves, in small doses. She’s an exhibitionist, and in that regard she does not discriminate between male and female viewers—she becomes excited by being seen, regardless of the audience. Subconsciously, she is attracted to physical force and the idea of being restrained. She is multiply ovulatory, and her ovulation cycles last longer than the average.
