Background: Mayra is one of the four friends who decided to come to Shokushu together.
The brightly-haired girl known as Mayra was born the first of three children, and it was a pretty average family. She often ended up in squabbles with her brother, who was but a year younger than her. What quickly became Mayra's defining trait was her love for all that is fiction. Video games, movies, books, TV shows, anime and manga, all of it, she fell for it. Because of her focusing so much of her time on those (and buying things like posters and lots upon lots of collector's items) Mayra quickly lost the friends she had that wasn't of her kind (not many where she lived was like her) and her parents kind of gave up on her getting any profitable hobbies and focused on continuing their lives. For a long time, Mayra was alone with only her fiction and the dream to make fiction of her own.
When she started High School, though, everything changed. These three girls, Narelle, Eliza and Samantha, quickly dragged her into their group of friends. While none of them were really nerds, they didn't mind Mayra at all, they even partook in her shows and fiction, and not only to please her but also to enjoy them themselves. These were friends like Mayra had never had before. ... And with that, she became overprotective. This girl is extremely genre-savvy with tons of imagination and experience with fiction, and as soon as any guy (or stranger) talked to any one of them Mayra instantly was there to defend her new friends. She became extremely cautious, to the degree that many would find her weird. Especially Narelle, who was her new best friend who would watch or play any show or game she asked for and always acted supremely innocent at all times. She could not let anything happen to Narelle. No matter what.
When Samantha suggested they all to Shokushu together, Mayra naturally objected. Alone, on an island they couldn't leave until graduation, and more? Firstly, think of all the shows and games and such she would be unable to play without internet, secondly, don't you all see the obvious trap!? They are obviously luring in young female girls for unknown purposes... Mayra had also frequently masturbated to fictional porn, she knew the possibilities, but the other girls dismissed her claims to things that could only happen in fiction. When it became clear that Narelle, Eliza and Samantha were all intending to go, Mayra simply could not stay behind, forcing herself to be persuaded that such things could not happen in reality and she was being silly... Mayra swallowed her fears, and came to Shokushu with her friends.
Psychological Profile: Mayra is very insecure. Her mind demands safety and security at all times. She sets up her friends as personal guards, but at the same time she is afraid of losing her precious guards and friends. Mayra is unbelievably insecure with strangers, and strip her of her friends and she will be a literal frightened wreck. As long as her friends are nearby, she will be able to act efficiently and intelligently to protect them, and through that, protect herself. On the other side of the coin, Mayra is as weakest on her own. Expect collapsing in fear and many, many tears if she is placed in danger with no friends around. She will have no mental defense whatsoever.
Personality: Mayra is a usually introverted girl that has ended up in a crew which she has become comfortable in. She doesn't usually smile a lot, but she can have a ton of fun. Imaginative and friendly to people who she knows, she can invent the most strangest of games and wants dearly to talk and play her favorite shows and games with anyone who can spend time with her. Mayra quickly becomes a very, very attached friend due to the lack of amount of friends she has had over the years, and because of this she can get really, really protective of those she has. It should be noted, Mayra is very lazy when it comes to herself, her room remains the opposite of clean. But for her friends, she is ready to pull her weight at any time.
She likes to invent stories and write them down, hoping to one day join the media which she watches constantly. Mayra is very protective of the things she cares about, and this definitely includes her friends. Absurdly genre-savvy, she will treat any and all people talking to her friends as if they were the disastrous villain that will finally get the plot started, and her careful nature has taken a turn for the worst as she came to Shokushu with her friends, this island seeming REALLY suspicious to her. Mayra totally expects us to be forced to kill one another until there is only one left or something, and will therefore keep a look-out almost as if she already knew there were monsters on the island. She isn't more powerful than their leader Samantha, though, so if Samantha gets a funny idea of going into the forest or explore the school at night, Mayra won't be able to deny her. She will, though, follow along with her guard up and all her genre-savvyness to try to defend her friends.
Virgin? Yes.
Piercing or Tattoos: None.
Language: English and Japanese. ... Japanese through "extensive studying".
Likes: Her friends, fiction (movies, TV-shows, anime, manga, video games, books), collector's items, feeling safe, heat and safety, children. ... Probably her brother.
Dislikes: Being prevented access to the internet and her nerd-items, being alone, darkness and shadows and being forced to be alone in it, possible danger, strangers. ... Probably her brother.
Activities: Video-games, movies, anime, manga, books, um... Anything that has anything to do with fiction. Can also be found writing her own stories, sometimes, or making Eliza draw her original characters. Otherwise, whatever Samantha recently dragged her along to. She also jogs and swims regularly, simply to stay in shape, but never more than that.
Miscellaneous: I wrote Australian as their nation of origin, but I don't actually have any idea if roleplaying someone from there would make any kind of difference from playing an American or a British. So, tell me if I am doing something unspeakably wrong by just playing them as normal.
Magic? Mayra doesn't actually know it, but she has the potential to master elemental magic of Fire and Light. The possibility of getting to know or master this potential at Shokushu are quite minor. In the off chance it happens, I will go into more detail, which can be denied by the moderators when the time comes. Until then, this section remains bare. But let me assure, it is of the "do magic by spending stamina" kind, overusing would result in a very exhausted and very vulnerable Mayra.
