Voice: Olivia has a rather quiet, but articulate voice, very soft and feminine. Her accent is as one would expect from her upbringing, distinctly upper class British, with careful and exact elocution.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

General Description: The first thing that strikes most people about Olivia is her small, lean, almost underweight figure. Whilst this is mostly due to her enfeebled constitution, she has none the less managed to keep ahold of some amount of pleasant, natural curvature, complimenting her in all the right places, not that her usual choice of attire usually does justice to this. Olivia is normally quite conservative, but plain, with her clothing, though a keen eye would spot the generous price tag belonging to everything she wears. Normally this young talented prodigy can be seen travelling around campus, either on her own two feet with the assistance of a member of staff, acting as a personal aid (or else a friend) or, more often, in her own customised, electric wheelchair. Whilst she is not strictly speaking dependent on a wheelchair, able to move outside of it, her weakened state often makes it a requirement for alleviating her fatigue. Olivia is also blind, having lost her sight in the same car accident that has made her body so frail.

Distinguishing features: The result of a car crash Olivia suffered when she was sixteen, there is a certain amount of scarring along the length of her back, whilst this is normally hidden by clothing or her long hair, it is likely that plenty of other "people" are going to see this at some point, so it is worth mentioning. Another feature that catches most people's eye straight away is the white "masquerade" half mask that she often wears. As a blind technical genius, this is actually a device, created by her, that allows her to see, with cameras fitted in the 'eyes' and a small neural interface implanted in the back of her neck. Whilst the entirely white mask, including the smooth, rounded, filled-in eyes, is a practical device for Olivia, many have noted the somewhat dramatic and striking effect of having a student that goes wearing such a thing. It should also be mentioned that this mask, whilst sturdy, lightweight, and hard to break, is rather easy to dislode or remove and, while this has no adverse effect for Olivia, the picture simply cutting out, when it goes out of its very short 5 feet range, the sudden return to blindness, not to mention the remote whirling of her vision, it can all be very disorientating.

HISTORY

Born the only child to a rather wealthy family, Olivia was a little spoiled in her youth. Well educated and showing her genius at a very young age, everything seemed to be going smoothly for Olivia in the earlier days of her life. However, fate being so unkind at times, shortly after her sixteenth birthday, it'd be on a routine journey back from school, that a horrific car accident would change things forever. While her parents were not with her at the time, the young teen merely losing her favourite chauffeur, Olivia would end up with moderately severe spinal injuries, but also, a complete and permanent loss of her sight. Despite her family's excessive wealth and resources, there was little medically that could be done for Olivia, in regards to her sight and, though nothing could be done to treat her blindness, after extensive surgeries and trying physiotherapy, Olivia was atleast partially emancipated, regaining at least some of her ability to walk.

Shortly after her eighteenth birthday, Olivia would find herself excited and enthused by a wild experimental adventure with one of her female friends. It would be a revelation for her, in regards to her sexual orientation, though it would not be long before her family were made aware of this. Whilst she did not, strictly speaking, come out, news filtered her parents way in time, through other people. Not exactly thrilled, regarding this development, they did not quite go as far as condemning their daughter, provided she didn't feel the need to 'flaunt' her new found sexuality. An exact, open discussion regarding this did not happen, persay, but the general state of affairs, and opinions of all involved, would be pretty clear and indeed, not just bisexuality, but any form of sexuality, is something Olivia knows to keep very much to herself.

It might seem odd then, that Olivia found herself able to attend a girls only school. However, making it clear that her interest was purely academic, Olivia voiced clearly her enthusiasm and desire to go to Shokushu with both her parents. Perhaps due to the fact that she was their blind, wheelchair bound, daughter who they as such had difficulty denying anything she really wanted, Olivia would eventually get their approval. Another speculation to be had is that maybe they thought her Bisexuality a phase that could be worn out, though how much her parents disliked the idea of even thinking of her lying with other women, should probably be obvious. So, having gotten her family's approval, and having easily acquired all the right qualifications to go, Olivia would soon be off to that semi-tropical island we have all come to know and love.

[Not an update exactly, just extra information regarding Olivia's background that has arisen in RPs lately, and I would have taken for granted as a thing, but I guess growing up in a rich, high class, conservative environment wouldn't have explicitly meant this to others.]

Even before her... 'preferences', as her parents would call it, came to light, Olivia would not exactly have for herself the most liberal, or even basically informative of upbringings when it came to the subject of sex and sexual attraction. Having had what some would arguably call a distant and estranged relationship with her parents, and having been practically raised by the staff (again 'The Help', as her parents would have put it), there never was anyone with which she could have 'The Talk', nor anyone with which she could socialise or casually discuss 'Boys'. If ever the subject came up, at say the dining table, one of the very few places Olivia was ever able to speak with her parents, things would usually, often, grow quiet and 'pointedly uncomfortable' until things went back to a more 'proper' and 'appropriate' topic of conversation. Furthermore, the staff, who would never be so bold as to speak out of turn, weren't exactly in a position to make this a subject to discuss and, Olivia, so well trained and conditioned by her parents, would never be so brazen as to bring it up with any of them.

It is not to say, however, that Olivia was somehow ignorant on the subject, nor was she exactly shielded from the subject. As a brilliant and well educated young lady, she knew plenty about the human body, and she'd watched plenty of film and television, to know enough of what was what. However, put simply, her environment growing up, would not be one in which she had the opportunity to express her sexuality. In fact, as a young girl, from a prestigious family, it would almost be as if the idea of her having any sexuality (or even wholesome romantic interest) at all was something forbidden, or taboo. Even when she eventually discovered masturbation, she'd often find herself on edge. It never helped that her bedroom, in her parent's house, had no lock on it, and when she wanted to have some 'time to herself', she would have to do so very carefully. Repression and, above all else, modesty seemed to be the only values taught to Olivia regarding sex and, even once she'd had her first time, discovering her sexuality along the way, things would still be kind of locked down and hidden away, even to this day.

Not exactly religious, per say, Olivia did actually attend Catholic school and, technically, in the same way tomato is a fruit, Olivia is of that denomination. That said, she'd never really been one for church and, given the way she is now, it might be safe to say that church isn't really one for her now either. The one time she did have a boyfriend, however briefly, she'd found herself somewhat overwhelmed, blushing at even the simplest of touches and, whilst they would get as far as kissing and... erm... "light petting", they never got as far as anything more than that. Contact, or even a few minutes alone with her boyfriend had to be fought for hard and, on the occasions he had been brought around to visit Olivia and her parents, the "they need a chaperone everywhere they go" mentality, not to mention the physical separation, keeping them at opposite ends of the very, very long dining tables, it'd all been very much alive and well in the household. Perhaps then, one might consider, it was no wonder that Olivia's first time took place during what was supposed to be an innocuous sleepover with a female friend.

Not long after her first time, just before she turned nineteen, Olivia would begin to acquire, for herself, a certain collection of 'Toys' for her use and, from there on, she began, to some degree, to take a more liberal and relaxed approach when it came to her own needs and how she satiated them. Before, Olivia had always had to make do with whatever she could cobble together and improvise and, for a long time, the handle of a broken tennis racket, or the head of her shower, had been all the 'assistance' she'd been able to have for herself. Even the little, vibrating, rotary nub she'd secretly put together in her own, private (well, semi-private) tinkering lab, hadn't really been anything all that effective, at least, not compared to what she would have for herself once she took the plunge and actually got for herself some proper, professionally made, devices for the job.

Plain, brown paper package with no indiscreet markings, the things Olivia ordered online would be comfortably inconspicuous when they actually arrived at the house. The only two things that one really had to be afraid of was anyone actually looking at her card bills to see what she was ordering, or someone in the house nearby innocently, unknowingly asking 'oh, what did you buy?' when she went to pick up her delivery at the door (an already somewhat suspicious task for a household that had staff for that sort of thing). In the end though, the name of the company wouldn't be anything too brazen or blatant on the bill, not listing the name of any of the products and, if and when anyone did idly ask what she'd gotten, she would easily manage a simple 'oh, just something for my room', before quickly, and excitedly, scurrying back up to her room to hide her latest treasure like a virulent squirrel with a nut. Things were, thankfully, discrete. Of course, if someone really wanted to know, if they really wanted to investigate, they could, but Olivia was firm on her ground. After all, she was an adult now, it was only natural that she had urges and needs that needed to be met, and what she did in private, on her own time, wasn't anyone else's business, especially when she happened to know, having happened to accidentally see it, much to her horror when time came for her to be able to recognise what it was, a "Magic Wand" in her parent's own room.

If someone looked into her stuff, so be it. She wasn't ashamed (in theory, or so she told herself) or embarrassed by this stuff. The fact that she had these things was only natural (as it was apparently for her to use the term 'only natural' repeatedly over and over), and it was more for public decency and everyone else's benefit that she kept a basic, and modest, sense of discretion. It was, as such, with this mentality, that a few of her 'devices', and a few of her "toys", along with some less "appropriate" undergarments, would have themselves a box amongst Olivia's luggage as she came to Shokusu and why, marked distinctly on the outside of this container, almost proudly, would be the word [PRIVATE], printed boldy. These days, of course, she had her own room, with a lock on the door and everything and, furthermore, everything would be expertly soundproofed, something she'd not experienced back in her parent's creaky, old house with ancient, thin walls. In some ways, this was the best part of being here. More so now than ever, our young inventor would have all the space she needed to 'experiment' as she pleased.

(Though, how safe and private her little "sessions" actually were from some of the island's residence, this would be another matter.)

PERSONALITY

General Description: First and foremost, Olivia is an intellectual, a young woman of remarkable intelligence, it is no wonder that she was able to earn herself a place in this prestigious educational facility. (Though her having wealthy parents probably didn't hurt her chances). Whilst she is not exactly cold, her cerebral focus often make her a little less aware of her own emotional states than other people. It should also be said that Olivia is a rather strong, willful soul. Having lost both her sight and mobility, and needing to go through extensive and intensive physiotherapy to regain at least some of the later, Olivia has developed into quite the enduring and resolute individual. Though once more sensitive about her disability and newfound vulnerability, she has since come to terms with both the mental and physical trauma, not allowing either to provoke her easily.
Likes: Domineering, powerful types (though she might not admit as such). Relaxing showers and baths. Men of good figure who frequently forget to put on a shirt.
Dislikes: People who don't speak directly and straight, playing with words. Cold weather and her regularly required physiotherapy.
Hobbies: Olivia is a tinkerer, an engineer extraordinaire. She can often be found creating new inventions, or else making remarkable and exciting scientific discoveries. She also enjoys sketching and drawing landscapes, and not just so she can see the look of confusion when it is explained that a blind girl drew them.
Strengths: Though it has probably already been mentioned, Olivia's main strength is her mind. Capable of deep, analytical and logical thought, Olivia is well versed in all the sciences, and with an almost eidetic memory, has memorised detailed knowledge regarding human biology, chemistry, computer sciences and physics. She is also seemingly strong and enduring, though one might speculate on whether there would be a more vulnerable side to her as well.
Weakness: The blindness and frequent wheelchair dependency should, at this point, go without saying in this category. Aside from the rather obvious physical deficiencies though, Olivia does have some psychological weakness that can be exposed. Amongst other things, Olivia is the type to be easily embarrassed when found with insufficient clothing. Part of this is due to the scarring on her back, but also because of her somewhat more reserved (submissive) sexual preferences. Connected to this also is her sense of pride and drive for independence, so she has a rather stalwart aversion built into her when it comes to calling out for help. If caught in a state of undress, she'll likely be determined not to have anyone see her in such a state or, as is probably going to the case frequently, she'll be determined not to have anyone else, besides her attacker, see her in such a compromising position. It should also be noted that her confidence when it comes to her own appearance, specifically her attractiveness, is rather poor, mostly because of her weak frame and the car accident she was in as a young teen. As such, she is rather 'vulnerable' to compliments and adoration that highlight her beauty and femininity. To some degree she feels she has lost some of her womanliness, and try as she might to portray an indifference to this, she actually craves those moments that reaffirm and restore to her a sense of femininity and non-disfigured beauty.
Fighting Style: Olivia is not really a fighter physically, though being a somewhat determined individual, it wouldn't be too unlike her to try some sort of desperate attempt if attacked. Most likely picking up and swinging anything she can find at hand in the face of an attacker, given her body's build, and the way these things go, it's probably safe to say that she could achieve little to nothing in her defence. Careful, there's a net launcher in the box underneath her wheelchair's seat that fires out between her legs, and she's got a taser in her purse that'll zap ya. Also, given recent encounters, she's considering tear gas and some sort of rubber bullets. That wheelchair is turning into a small, personalised tank of non-lethal armaments.
