Post Snowstorm on Shokushu...Carrying on the Tradition
There's probably at least a few people relatively new to Shokushu, who saw this title and scratched your heads, thinkin something on the lines of 'Snowstorm? on a tropical island? WTF?!'

Well, what can I say? This is Shokushu Island, folks. Believe it or not, stranger things can and do happen here pretty much every day.

Anyhoo, some time back...can't remember now exactly how far back...A fun little end-of-the-year tradition began. I think it was our beloved Niceman who started the whole thing, with the lovely Madison picking up the torch back in '07.

Here's how the plot begins:

Madison wrote:
One morning, not too long before Christmas, the students woke up to an unexpected sight: At least a foot of snow has fallen. For each student, there was a warm jacket, snow boots, and thicker pants to wear outside. Classes have been cancelled, due to the snow. Some of the early risers were already out and about, enjoying the surprising treat.

However, once one reaches the beach, it was just like the normal weather, where a nice warm breeze could be felt, and if one went out to sea far enough, it would've almost been like a snowglobe

Of course, this being Shokushu, there will most likely be more surprises than a bit of snow out there waiting for the students...

For those who want to see more, here's a link to the previous Snowstorm thread:

So...who here besides me is interested in helping to carry on the tradition? :D

I think the head scratching is due to mispelling Snowstorm XP

I would not mind contributing as long as it does not become too cluttered or at least splitting up the monsters and students should it become crowded. Rather not freeze to death waiting on a line of posts to be made hehe.

I assume this will be started on a fresh thread? Wouldn't make much sense adding to a dead thread.

It will be a fresh thread.

Though WHEN it'll go up is another question, as I have finals going in a little over a week.

Yeah I hear that. I have a Physics exam tomorrow with a Physics final the week after along with my other finals and one project.

Also afterwards I will be gone for about a week so it might be too late for me come to think of it T.T

 Sorry, that was my bad. My keyboard is more than a little screwy and tends to mess with my typing on a rather annoyingly frequent basis, and I forgot to spell-check before I submitted my post. #-o

Fixed now. :)

By the way, since we're correcting each other's spelling mistakes here...I think you misspelled 'misspelling'. I think that if someone were to have a look through a dictionary, they just might find that under the definition of 'irony'. =P~

Sorry...I don't mean to offend, but I just couldn't resist throwing that in there. No harm intended. :) Consider this a free pass to pick on me for any of my own spelling/grammar mistakes.

 I know what you mean, Kanoe. As long as we have enough monsters per students, we shouldn't have too much of a problem.

Yeah, it will. I just wanted to post that link up as...I dunno...kind of a sample, I guess. I figured I might get more people interested if they saw an example of what the Snowstorm storyline is like.

Hmm...I looked back at the old Snowstorm thread, and it looks like that one was posted on the week of Christmas. Would that be a good time for something to get set up?

I just hope there will be enough people around to post when it does get set up...what with this being around the time of year when a lot of folks are busy with finals, spending time w/family, traveling to warmer places, ect...

I didn't think about that til just now.

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed, though...

That's okay, Ishtar, a lot of us have difficult schedules to work around. I know my own schedule complicated at best, and during most of the week I only have time to post during the night. There are even days where I'm either too busy with R/L stuff or too tired (or sometimes both) to do any posting at all.

So, yeah, just do the best you can with the time you have.

She won't be the only one. :( It doesn't snow as much here as it does in Pittsburgh.

Tell me about it Bala - we've had flurries here in Pittsburgh just about every day for the last week.
Only like a half inch total accumulation - but it's been cold and dark out all week.

As for snow at Shokushu - well the 'blizzard Priestess' needs to be there obviously! And I suspect there might be some new pixies around too to enjoy the weather change?? ((looks meaningfully over to Pia)) :D
