The reaction was not unexpected but, it was certainly stronger than what Vera received from most students. Tiana's aura could not hide the awe, jealousy, and infatuation that the student felt at this moment. The girl did keep composure well enough though Vera knew who was in control here.

As a business woman and one who had experienced Shokushu's horrors first hand, Vera knew the value of facts. She may had read fiction when she was a child. But, fairy tales and romances do not produce the goods. Only knowledge and actions can change outcomes. Then again, Vera may have no use for fiction when her world already includes arcane knowledge and alien encounters.

The Head Girl was gone for a bit as she prepared tea. She finished in time to sense Tiana calming down. There was nothing to gain for overwhelming Tiana. This new student sought to climb the ladder and that was something Vera could understand and respect. The silver haired woman sets the tea tray down on the table, pouring two cups before offering one to the new student.

"I hope it is to your liking," Vera stated before having a seat herself, "I know you have a class coming up so please, ask your questions."

Tiana took the offered cup of tea with and smile and a thank you, and was quite proud of herself when she saw her hands weren’t shaking as she did so. The awe and attraction she had well under control, but that stubborn feeling of inadequacy, of not deserving to be here in this room having this conversation, refused to go away. Instead it lingered worming it’s self deeper in her subconscious. Tiana took a sip of tea to giver herself a minute.

“It’s quite good,” she said with a smile afterwards, and meant it. Was it loose leaf she wondered. Of course it was. A Head Girl would have loose leaf. Instant was for commoners and used up whores like—

Stop it, she silently snapped at herself.

“I suppose, before we go any further...” Tiana began, then paused, organizing her thoughts. “I know some institutions perfer to have individuals of a certain reputation in their positions of authority and...”

No, that wasn’t right either. Tiana was getting frustrated at herself. She imagined the no-nonsesn Vera would soon lose patience with her for wasting her time.

“I was in porn from the ages of 18 to 24,” she finally blurted out in a rush. “Would that affect my chances to become a Prefect?”

Tiana had calmed some only to continue to struggle though the details were not known to the Head Girl. Vera took her own cup and sipped lightly. The student complimented the tea and then struggled to find the words before blurting out a confession. Tiana had a history working in porn.

The dark skinned woman probably did not get the reaction she expected. It was hard to say what to expect after someone suddenly mentions they were in porn for six years. Some would probably have done a spit take at this point. Others may have tried to push through this in some awkward fashion, maybe asking further irrelevant questions about it. But, Vera simply drank from her tea and lightly sets the cup back down on its tiny dish. Perhaps it was not surprising after seeing how cool and composed this silver haired woman was. Even if she were not this disciplined, Vera would have probably laughed as a reaction. Six years of porn was barely anything compared to what one goes through on this island. In Vera's case, it did not even compare to what she does as part of her duties for her Headmaster.

"That all depends on you, Ms. Walker," Vera stated, "This is a school, a place for people to improve and excel in their chosen path in life. You came here for a reason just as you decided to have tea with me for a reason. I only care about results and maintaining order here. As long as your previous occupation does not interfere with those things, it matters little." The Head Girl did not even act surprised. She had not read Tiana's file yet but, all that information would no doubt be there. Here on Shokushu though, it does not surprise Vera at all that this school would accept former or current porn stars.

"But, does it matter to you?" the Head Girl asked, "Does it bother you that you did porn? I am not a counselor but my door is always open for students seeking to speak with me. I can also recommend you to members of the staff if you prefer. As for the position of Prefect, it can be empowering to have a bit more authority than another student. But, they follow a chain of command just like any other structured system. So while you will be maintaining order, you will be taking orders directly from your Head Girl and any staff members that require your aid. Currently, I am the only Head Girl working on campus so that would mean meeting my expectations and serving under me. Is that something you believe you can handle, Ms. Walker?
