This is set after Sexy Girl Beach
Sayaka, having been rescued by a diver after the tentacle monster had freed her from his lair, has been brought to her dorms. She’s twitching and shivering.

Being in the rec room of the dorms watching Scarface for the 80th time or so most of the girls aren't around. Scarface usually cleared the room but hey it was my turn to pick the movie so …

I shut the TV off as the credits begin to roll. Hearing a commotion as I come out of the room.

“Sayaka?” She's water logged. Shivering with a blanket wrapped about her. I don't recognize the man that was with her who leaves as I approach. His job done apparently. “What happened?”

Sayaka hugs Midori. “MGAAAAHHH! I’M SO SORRY! I’M SO! I’M SO-!” and eventually deteriorates into incoherent blubbering. She started twitching and spasming. “Hahahaha....” She then completely lost consciousness.

She collapses in my arms and it's all I can do to prevent her from slamming into the ground. I'm a little confused as to the nature of the apology, at least for a few seconds. Even before I got to this place I had my fair share of experiences and can recognize the signs.

“A little help here.” At least I catch the man who brought her to the dorms before he departs. Not knowing which room is hers I have her brought up to mine. Laying her out on the bed. Once we are alone I struggle with getting her out of those wet clothes to her undergarments then tuck her up in that blanket.

Unable to control the heat in the building it's fortunate that it rarely gets cold here outside of those stormy days.

The girl is still collapsed on the bed.

I figure that Sayaka might be out for a while. Internally I debate watching Scarface again but rule that out just in case I'm wrong. I do leave for a little while going back downstairs to the communal kitchen. Making some hot coco I place some in a thermos designed to keep things warm for hours. Fixing a cup for myself I go back to my room busying myself with some reading as I wait.

My text books can be dry in parts to those without the understanding of the sciences. Even as skilled in the field that I am some of it is tough to get through causing me to reread a few passages to wrap my head around what is being explained.

At my desk with the thermos nearby I pass the time as I wait.

Sayaka chases Midori. “DON’T LEAVE MEEEE!”

I freeze by the door. Spinning around I see Sayaka off the bed and rushing toward me. “I didn't think you were awake yet. I was just going to grab a hot coco.” But if she didn't want me to leave I wouldn't. She's before me in just her undergarments, her wet clothes already in the drier of the shared laundry room that I saw too shortly after she was out of it.

“Are you warm enough? What happened to you? It looked like they fished you out of a river.”

“The ocean...the ocean..ahaha...ahaha...the ocean...monster...there was a monster...” Whatever it was, it’s caused Sayaka to go mad.

“The ocean?”I haven't encountered any aquatic mushi. Not that I go to the beach much myself. “You've seen the mushi?”

The answer obvious. I hug her realizing the reality behind that. Knowing that they've been crossing over and not thinking she can see them otherwise I'm fairly certain that she's encountered the ones that have bled over to our reality.

“You're safe now.”

“Monster...”

I take her by the arms gazing at her at arm's length. “No. Mushi. I don't know about this place but somehow they can cross over from their world to ours.”

I explain as best as I can not knowing the truth behind this situation that we've been caste in.

“I've seen them all my life. They were transparent like ghosts and couldn't interact with us. Another world or dimension. But here they have moved into our plane of existence. I've search for a means how they're doing this but haven't found one. As far as I could tell it's somewhere in the jungle. I've never heard of one being in the sea.”

Maybe it was because I rarely went to the beach. “You're alight now. I have no idea what they're after. Was the one you encountered intelligent?” Most of those I came across were but not one gave me answers that pointed me in the right direction. It was tough to tell what was worse. The Mushi or the human monsters that I dealt with.

“It did something...”

I hug her. Knowing what that something was from the Mushi I've encountered here. Oddly as I reflect I don't recall the last Mushi that hadn't crossed over that I had seen. Almost as if this entire island was that portal between our realities. Maybe our two dimensions intersected here. It was a thought I had not considered before seeing that I was searching for a point when the entire island could have been that point.

Braking away from her I look at Sayaka. She's not soaked but feels a bit clammy to the touch only recently getting dry.

“There's safety in numbers.” At least I haven't heard of anything to contradict this. None of them busting into classrooms and such. Though from my experiences even the dorms weren't safe. I had yet to learn that it was unsafe for pairs of students.

“Do you have a roommate?”

She shakes her head and then collapses. It seems as if Katsurou’s attack had truly driven her insane.
