Love in the Library ((Rose))
I was in the library for the usual reason. Well, I say usual, I mean usual for me. I was scoping out the clever girls. I mean, I love me a random fling, but intellectually, I get lonely. So I sat at a table in a rather comfy chair reading some book. Fiction, something to relax with, and of course it was about lesbians. Everything in my life seemed to be about lesbians. And in the case of this book, ones with better functioning relationships than mine, but when your wife is held prisoner to make sure you do your job right, there's bound to be some hiccups in your personal life. So, I was just sitting there, relaxing. Chillaxing, if I didn't so sternly disapprove of that word. And I was scoping out my surroundings.

Re: Love in the Library ((Rose))
library, a beautiful heaven for me, hundreds of books all in one place, almost as many books as I had cluttered my dorm room with! Oh treasury of treasuries I was truely overjoyed by the collection of fiction, romance, drama, mystery and even manga that filled the shelves. I couldn't pick just one so, simply I picked up about eight and made my way to the most comfortable looking chair in the library, unfortunately for me; that was already taken by a girl with teal hair.
with a shrug I decided to take the chair across from her; it looked about as comfortable anyway. I adjusted my glasses and looked at my simplistic looking watch; of courseI saw an entire massive display above it no one else could see, the pleasures of being a technopath were amazing!
I brushed off my simple white skirt before Deciding to pop open a simple manga, 'my two wings' was the rough translation, was supposed to be a rather interesting work about a hermaphrodite. I didn't see why not to read it anyway.

JACKPOT! And right across from me. But this was a library, and not the most accessible place for pick-up lines. I needed a plan. A ploy to get her talking to me, better if it made her owe me something. I saw the manga she was reading and recognized the name. That might prove useful later on. But right now I needed something else. I had stopped reading entirely and went into a more observational mode, while using my book as a cover, my face aimed at it, but my eyes wandered looking for something to use.

Re: Love in the Library ((Rose))
I didn't even notice the teal haired girl again as I flipped pages surprisingly quickly soaking up each word so easily. Reading was the one thing I did at a near blinding speed... I hadn't quite gotten the speed reading world record but, I was close!
I turned the pages so quick it looked like I was only skimming over the art work at least until I found a particularly interesting section which I would reread several times.
"Hmm, a bit of a racy work... not the sort of thing I should read in a library."
I said as I reached a scene where the hermaphrodie's cousin fell naked onto her manhood pussy first completely by accident in a bath. I blushed closed the manga and put it down nervously offering some simple coughs.

"That's nothing, you should read some of the other stuff they have. I'm partial to Shoujo Sect," I spoke softly to her, it wasn't quite the pick-up line I was looking for, but it got us talking at least, and it had the added benefit of not being the end result of some nefarious plot or scheme, which was always a plus in my book, but it did mean I had some careful navigation to do to make this conversation go where I wanted it to go, "As for what's appropriate, don't worry too much, this area of the library, almost no one is around at this time. I'm a bit of a student of people, I know where they go," there was a tiny amount of bullshitting there. I did know that most times at this hour very few people were wandering the library, just the clever ones, and it isn't like we'd pry.

Re: Love in the Library ((Rose))
"Shojo sect? Isn't that the one with the friends from childhood?" I had heard of it before, never quite read it really but, I had heard a few people recommend it to me, mostly michael. I shrugged softly to myself at the thought and put it on my 'read some other time' list in my head; that long hundred thousand books list in that odd machine of my brain.
"Hmmm? no one really comes back here? really? how strange, these are like the most comfortable chairs in this library. why would people avoid it?"
Again I looked at my watch and then touched above it in mid air nodding to myself and picking up another novel opening it before lookign it over and flipping the pages.
"Odd... it's blank..."
I looked a bit disappointed but shrugged deciding to push it to the side. i assumed it was a diary someone had never used.
"Might I ask what you're reading there, the cover doesn't look familiar."

Re: Love in the Library ((Rose))
"Ah, it's called 'Other Girls' by Diane Aynes. My friend who works here tells me about the lesbian romance novels she finds, and she added this to my queue. It's a little weird though," and hit a little close to home, with the premise of a college with lesbians and creatures of the night at it, "but I'm the kind who has to finish a book, you know?" Good connection there, but still, we weren't on the track I wanted us to be on. It was probably best to ride out the conversation and loop it back to her getting naked and wet. Not in such blunt terms, bookworms usually appreciated nuisance.

Re: Love in the Library ((Rose))
I nodded softly at that pondering the content of the book. IT did strike me as an interesting read and I hadn't read much romance lately, never read a lesbian romance actually.
"Oh that's certainly interesting. How explicit is it?"
I only asked because I generally avoided books that were too explicit in their words, manga though; Well I don't know why but, I could read la blue girl for three days straight and not be bothered at all.
"Might have to look into it some time, you are lucky though; to know someone here. you're probably the first girl I've met and spoken to since I arrived at this school."
not including michael but, she I'd known since we were kids so she didn't count.

"I'm not that far in," I admitted, and moved on to her next question, leaving explicitly to be something to come back to when she and I were eventually getting explicit, "And I'm a Head Girl, I'm fairly well connected around the island," which was nowhere near the reason why I was well connected, that was because I had a talented tongue, "and so you're kinda lucky too, 'cause I can help you out if you ever need anything." I smiled and offered her a hand, "Linnis Van Ryan."

Re: Love in the Library ((Rose))
I took her hand and smiled lowering my head my green hair falling infront of my face before I spoke. "I'm Rose Shark but..." I paused lifting my hair away from my face before continuing. "People tend to call me Bentley though mostly my friends back home. " I shifted my seat a little crossing my legs gently now and placing my hands in my lap laughing to myself faintly stretching then. "You know, It's a bit of irony that we're chatting here, a girl with natural green hair and a girl with natural teal hair meeting in the library. what are the chances?" I offered the question leaning back and adjusting my glasses deciding to place a book on my crossed legs and place my hands neatly folded on that. "So you're a head girl miss Van ryan? What is that like may I ask many perks?"

Re: Love in the Library ((Rose))
"Pretty nice. We get a decent wage and a nice suite in the dorm complex, but it's a lot of work," I decided to just call it 'work' and not the unsettling details therein, "but the top perks are the connections we get after graduation. And part of my contract is that the school is taking care of someone important to me," I again decided against explanations, and probably would keep it ambiguous even if she asked.

Re: Love in the Library ((Rose))
another gentle nod to her, I decided best not to ask about the details, she seemed to be avoiding them on purpose and I recorded it on my little unique watch though it looked like I was just looking at it. "Well I am new here in a word so I suppose it's only proper to ask, beyond the library and the computer lab. what do students do here to entertain themselves between classes?" It seemed appropriate anyway, who better than one of the higher ups on the student caste to answer a student community question. I cocked my brow a little glancing to where I thought I had seen something but, it turned out to be nothing; well I thought it was nothing anyway. I looked a little uncomfortable in my chair as I would shift again, really It was an issue I had with meeting new people. It was just hard for me to talk to; it felt awkward, even more so it was awkward to chat with someone in a position of power.

Re: Love in the Library ((Rose))
Somehow, sexing like rabbits seemed like an answer to avoid. It's amazing that I was at a point in my life where I would have that thought. But I pressed on, "We're a strong community here, so a lot of us spend time with others," good euphemism, "and then there are the social clubs, on-campus jobs, the normal college experience." Part of me hated this lie. It was part of my job though, to make sure everything operated as normal. I wanted to say that she ought to spend tons of time with others and be cautious when alone, but now I had to let it all happen.

Re: Love in the Library ((Rose))
I smiled faintly hearing something behind her voice, a ting of regret maybe? something hidden but, I decided to ignore it for now anyway what was the use of questioning it. next I decided to throw a bit of a curve ball at her from what Michael had told me when I had arrived to help her out and tell her what had happened to her scholarships.
"One of my old friends from home is a student here... named Michael goes by the alias Sly, well I saw her and she says she's seen 'monsters' on the island. know why she might have said something like that?"
I knew michael would never lie to me but, go insane from boredom or perhaps from isolation; that was possible.

Re: Love in the Library ((Rose))
"There's some indigenous wildlife," I explained in the most plain way I could, walking the fine line between saying nothing and everything. Oh, the tightrope act of being a Head Girl, "some is particularly unusual. And there are good reasons some areas of the island are out of bounds, some of the indigenous creatures are a little temperamental. There have been incidents, but I've been assured the Administration is doing everything it can to take care of the students."
