Marianna calmly sighed as she was seated in a corner of the schools library, buried in a book right now looking through the text and pages about it, the title cover read the words, 'Hypnotism, the depths of the mind' as she read it calmly and rubbed her chin.

"Hmm..interesting very interesting," She whispered faintly looking through a certain page as her hand touched the sapphire necklace around her neck as she smiled softly.

"I can't wait to try these techniques out," She said joyfully giggling as she closed the book calmly setting it down and looked around calmly for another good psychology or hypnotism books to read.

Nearby, a girl happened to be in a similar section of the library - psychology and sociology were nearby, and since she minored in sociology... Saira found herself checking on a few books on the subject. Of course, while pulling one out to read, she heard someone muttering about... techniques. Curiosity is a natural response - and Saira was willing to indulge her nature from time to time. Sooo the tanner-skinned girl leaned over, slightly.

"Way you're talking about that, makes it sound like you wanted someone to hear~", she teased.

Marianna blushed and turned to the voice and saw Saira leaning over to her asking about her eagerness and nods sheepishly.

"Yep, it's a special mind tricks I've been wanting to learn so far, it's rather fun to see," Marianna smiles brightly.

"Oh wait my manners, Marianna Stenhouse is my name," She said offering a hand for a shake.

"Ah, well hi there. I'm Saira Nejem, pleased to meet you." And of course, knowing proper decorum, Saira extended her hand as well, taking the shake. "Special mind tricks, huh? Well, I know in some of my psych courses I read a thing or two about that - hypnosis that is - and it's at least pretty interesting." To her credit, Saira did honestly look interested in the subject, what with how she was curiously peering over Marianna's shoulder to look at the book.

Perhaps this interest could be used...?

"nice to meet you Saira, and yes it's quite fascinating, I've always tries Hypnosis and it's worked well thanks to my pendulum trinket," She said showing Saira her Sapphire on her necklace and removed her necklace, "I just swing this while making the right chants and it works rather well," She said smiling brightly.

"Course I always want to learn new easier ways, I even heard of people just using there eyes to mesmerise people," She said

Saira raised a slight brow at that description. "Really, just... wave it around and chant? Ah, must be a different method than what I've heard of..." Though she didn't want to say it, Saira actually looked a bit suspicious now. Like she thought it might be something... else. Possibly even more. But, she felt, as well, that she'd have to investigate further. "But... well, color me curious, anyway. What do you use it for, anyway? Messing with people for fun, trying to do things with their minds like explore their personalities, or what?"

"Mostly for fun, I always liked being one of those showy magicians, maybe try it for Psychology myself, I'm just broadening my ideas for this trick, I've always wanted to practice it and become better at it, maybe try and see how well I can use it," She giggles looking at Saira with a big smile.

"The Pendulum is just my main way for now until I think of better ways to do it," She said as the jewel glistened slightly.

...Even more suspicion, and Saira wasn't even hiding it this time. She eyed the pendulum warily, though only a little - just in case she was right! "Interesting. Very interesting. Though I suppose I'm not sure who you'd even want to use it on... I haven't seen you before, so you might be new, or I might just have not run into you before, but... that means I can't say if you even have a social circle." But then her eyes focused back on the actual girl with the glinting item, rather than said item. And wisdom reflected in them, matched by the slightest smirk. "Unless that was a particularly leading smile you just made..."

Marianna smiles at Saira and giggles, "Well I am a new girl at the school, and I am just learning about this place...hmm maybe we should go to one of the bedrooms, might be safer if I showed you my skills without some student or monster taking advantage," She said softly.

Saira sensed where she was going with this... but yet, didn't quite mind either. Maybe she was curious... maybe she wanted to know what it was like? "Oh! Well... I guess going to yours might work?... I mean, it's not like we'd barge into someone else's." But rather than continue on the subject, Saira suddenly blinked multiple times, doing a double-take. "W-wait a second. You just said you're new. But... the monsters? You've already heard of them?... Maybe even met? God, that's... that's fast."

"Monsters like new meat you gotta admit doesn't take long for students here to get raped," She said softly before putting the books away for now and smiles straightened out her uniform and smiled at Saira and offered a hand, "Well shall we be off then Saira?" She asked smiling brightly.

Saira continued to stare in blank surprise for a good half-minute, before she suddenly snapped out of it. Hesitantly... The dark-skinned girl took the offered hand. This one was already seeming a little strange, but she had suspicions of a different sort than the paranoid and dubious, and she'd like to investigate them. What's the worse that she'd do to her?... Ah. There you are, inner voice that tells me I'm doing something stupid. Oh how I missed you. Even so... There's usually some kind of reward for going through with it, right? Remember Antipode? That was a monster, but you got some nice results there. And Linnis goes without saying, though it's not like there was that much hesitation either.

...The half-minute stretched into a full one as Saira went about talking to herself in the narrative, and basically violating the fourth wall messily. But! But she snapped out of it, smiling softly. "Yeah, let's go.

Marianna smiles brightly and nods, "Alright then," She giggles and holding Saira's hand led the girl out of the library and towards her room in the dorms walking past some students holding Saira's hand as she held her sapphire in her other hand smiling softly as they continued onward.

Soon stopping infront of her door as Marianna quickly unlocked it and headed inside with her new companion following inside too as she smiles.

"Here we are," She said, the inside of the room looked normal, bed, table and dresser and other things, but there was some books about hypnotism, magic tricks and other things on the desk and bed too.

As she finally entered the room, Saira evaluated her surroundings pretty deeply. Books on the subject, not much in the way of unusual decor... Relatively focused. Her internal theories were quite possibly correct. But! Best to keep playing along. So, Saira headed closer to the bed, eying it slightly. "Ah... This stuff usually goes with relaxation, right? So I should get on the bed? Or would you rather I be in a chair, or...?"

"No no just stand there and look cute," marianna said with a little teasing in her voice as she calmly took off her jewel and smiles as it flickered and glowed a little more as she smiles brightly and sighed softly, "Okay now this is really simple, all I ask is you watch the shiny shiny while I say the lines," She said dangling her sapphire infront of Saira a distance enough for her to see it.
