The incantation had stronger effects than it normally had. This had been the first time she attempted to use it on one of the guests. Etolie found it impractical most of the time. It could only work on recent memories, at least her command of the spell hadn't improved from that. With practice it could have targeted specific memories or a chunk of time farther in the past but she never had a use for such things and so she never bothered learning more than she needed.

However, it didn't have the effect she was going for. Etolie gained his attention finding him push Rhaine away and cover the distance between them with a single bound.
