He'd underestimated the swordswoman again, allowing her to slip between his legs. Fortunately for him, she used the opening to climb onto his back to keep him occupied while the other girl tried to flee. A foolish move; she was trapped now and he could block the door before the other girl reached it.

"A noble attempt," he said as he grabbed one of the girl's ankles and moved back to stand right in front of the door, preventing any chance of the other girl escaping through it. "Completely futile, mind you, but noble." He made an attempt to grab the other girl, seeing if he could catch her before she could stop her run for the door.

Yes Jojo did use her attempt to be noble. She curled her legs around the being's neck as she bent backwards so that she could wrap her arms around the guy's ankles attempting to trip him.
