Witches and water do not mix... (Clarice)
Clarice...
Mage had often been wondering why something had felt awfully familiar about this student, and why she smelled of Kanoe... literally....
It was one of those days when Mage was slow in picking up the mana of the students, she was feeling rather lazy and decided to laze about someplace, somewhere private and void of noise, yet very open well lit.
The pool!
Or rather... the bottom of it.
Soon enough, the sorceress was resting her eyes underneath several feet of water, the need for air abated by the feed of mana that flowed from her trapped soul. With eyes closed, she reminisced of times long past and all the mischief she had caused over the centuries, one of her more cherished moments being the one that involved Vesuvius and that town.... what was it called? No matter, now is not the time to flex her mind with trivial things, only to relax and enjoy the relative emptiness and silence of the pool for as long as the students were out to lunch.
Just as she was thinking of Achilles and that heel of his, something began to ripple the flow of mana, a familiar yet unfamiliar signature of energy radiating from up above.
"Clarice...."

The pool again...sometime she wished the library was located elsewhere.
Clarice sighs as she opens the door to the pool area and peers to the water as if it had done something wrong. Still having not learned to swim she could only protest in any activities with the pool and be on her merry way. She had beeen passing the pool a few times during lunch and nothing seemed to happen to her. Of course that could all change, but she risks it once more. She shuts the door behind her and begins her silent walk to reading some books after finishing her lunch.
Thoughts of what Kanoe was doing reached her mind. She could only wonder if her love was still at lunch or in her room right now. She could only hope she wasn't being ravaged by a monster. But there was no point in worrying over what she didn't know. Perhaps the hall of books she was going to had some interesting readings to take her mind off monsters for once. She didn't pay any head to the pool much as she nears the halfway mark.
"Hopefully I'll learn to swim sooner or later. I...guess..."

Re: Witches and water do not mix... (Clarice)
Indeed. It was Clarice, a rather funny coincidence.
Her knowledge of the girl only went to as far a fact that she could not swim, as was the case when she often just sat on the edge of the shallowest part of the pool, reluctant to even try the deeper edges of it and even panicking when someone feigned to bring her to deep water. By a stroke of luck, though, thats near the part she was traversing, and much to her misfortune, it was the deepest, a full 10 feet of water and void of any flotation device. The lifeguard was no where to be seen either.
Her quota was far from full, so this opportunity was not to be wasted. Mage silently chanted underneath the water, weaving up a spell that would surprise the student, it was sure to bowl her over.
"Claustroportus~". All the doors leading to the pool are suddenly locked, and magically reinforced so that no being could exist or enter the area whilst the spell is in effect.
"Pulsus~" Suddenly, a wall of force impacted Clarice from the side opposite the pool, flinging her into the water a good seven feet from the edge, right into the middle of the deep end.
Now to see which sinks faster... A rock... or a student...

Re: Witches and water do not mix... (Clarice)
Kanoe, she imagined, might already eb in the library and just skip lunch. She didn't recall seeing the woman in the cafeteria but then again she wasn't looking for her at the time. Even if Kanoe wasn't in the library, perhaps they needed small breaks from eachother-
Her thoughts were cut off when the loudest sound of dorrs slamming and locking made ehr whirl around in surprise. She thought she was alone in here. But before she could even register she wasn't, it felt almost like a wall plowed into the side of her and sent her flying. If the impact didn' knock the breath out of her then they way she fell into the water would. It took a split second to realize that for the second time here in Shokushu, she was drowning once more. Normally she would've have atleast been able to breach the surface for some air and begin her ever quick screaming for help, but this time was different.
Now she was upside down in the water, dizziness already took place because of her position. Her vision already began to blur but still her arms and legs flailed incoherently to do what it knew it could not. Having no air breath in or any air to hold onto, only a small gasp of bubbles left her mouth before she would start breathing in water. Fearing death was the only thing in her mind. She didn't want to die of course, but if anyone had been in a near death situation, they would recall the adrenaline, the fight for survival, the panic, and even freezing in place. Though she couldn't register if she was sinking or not her clothes, already filled with water themselves, pulled her down until she was in the middle of the floor and the surface. She probably looked ridiculous flailing around like a fish out of water. Her body was already screaming to breath...and she did for a split second. It was enough to stop her weak flailing all at once.
The last of her small bubbles came in a small scream of fear and panic before she made no movements. Though still alive of course she was already beginning to pass out. In a last attempt at freedom from her watery prison, her hand reaches out to grasp something...anything.

Re: Witches and water do not mix... (Clarice)
Well isnt that cute.
Nothing like watching mortals trying so hard to preserve they life... and fail miserably, such a sight does brings so much enjoyment to this sorceress. The show was short lived, however, as the girl became breathless and consciousness began to fade from her person, and Mage didn't want to play with a lifeless doll, if anything, she wanted them nice and squealy.
"Aerus Undina~". A perfectly round skin of air started to form around the girl, keeping her just in the middle of the water haflway from the surface to the bottom, enclosing her so that there is just enough room for her to stand. once formed, the bubbles contents began to evacuate, emptying itself of the rest of the water, until nothing was left of the water inside, just the wet and soggy student.
With a wave of her hand, the water inside her lungs was drawn out, or the majority of it anyway, enough for air to get inside and revive the little fish. The surface of the bubble inside was like rubber covered gelatin that was clear as glass as it conformed slightly to the girls body as she lay there.
With all that done, Mage simply waited for the girl to wake up, slowly floating round and round the bubble.

Re: Witches and water do not mix... (Clarice)
Her hand twitched upon feeling something wrap around her body. Her eyes began to focus slowly on something expanding arond her, but it was still becoming blurry. Halfway passed out, she watches with little interference as water began to empty itself from her small 'enclosure'. Having not breathed for more then fifty seconds it felt almost as if the life was being forced back into her. Small gallons of water shoot from her mouth in a spluttering and coughing frenzy.
Dazed and confused by how she manged to breath udnerwater like she is, she peers around dizzily while holding her head. What sort've manifestation was around her? It looked rubbery from her blurry vision. Did someone save her? How was she breathing air in this...bubble?!
Dazed and confused, her wobbly legs try to find some manner of footing only to find themselves unable to reach any ground. She was still in the middle of the pool was what she finally realized. Who-what had done this? Was it a trick? Magic? Poor Clarice was so puzzled by what had just happened she didn't even think to speak out, afraid water might be drawn back into her lungs. She remained quiet, wating for...someone to explain what had transpired.
