Post subject:  Silent Night [for Alucard]

As the sun made its retreat and another night decended upon the campus, a lone figure slipped from the dorms and darted off towards the gym.

Cael, though still new to the school hadn't warmed up to any of her fellow students. The few nightmares she had were very realistic, to real for her tastes. Either way she was seeking solice and a place to be alone in her studies. Or maybe a late night dip. Slipping into the side door she began working her way down the dark corridor towards the pool.

Alucard dozed lightly in the water, only awake enough to keep itself from rising out of the water. The pool was soothingly cool, just what the alien enjoyed at this time of night. Its grey, bumpy flesh was uncamouflaged, not expecting any company.

Alucard's sixteen-foot body lay stretched out in the water, its yellow eyes looking up as it blinked lazily. Its toeless feet curled slightly in the cool water. The alien yawned once, then stood. It was in the deep section of the pool, but its head was clear of the water easily. Hearing the footsteps of the student, the alien activated its natural camouflage, making itself practically invisible in the dim pool room.

Pushing the doors open Cael stepped into the pool room. Her white hair swung freely, almost seeming to give off a glow from the dim light. Walking to the edge of the pool her light pink eyes stared into the water...almost sadly. Dropping her school bag at her feet, Cael sat down upon her knees taking only a moment to fix her uniform before unpacking her flute from its case. The nightmares that bothered her was just her mind taking the other girls stories to far. Nothing more than a game or joke.

The alien observed the student with interest. Though it was dim inside the room, Alucard had no problem seeing the young woman. She seemed almost radiant as Alucard watched her. As she unpacked her flute, Alucard kept its large eyes focused on her.

Putting the flute together in short order, Cael wasted no time as she started to play. Closing her eyes Cael's haunting song echoed off the walls as she began to practice a song she had wrote. Lost in her own world, the pale skinned girl weaved back and forth as if entranced by her own music.

Alucard watched as the student played her haunting melody. The alien enjoyed the entrancing tune as it observed her. Alucard very carefully ducked under the water, still hearing her tune as clear as a bell, and walked closer to the unsuspecting student...

Cael continued to play her song getting more and more lost into her own little world with each passing note. Her fears, worries and all other concerns melted away as the tiny student visably seemed to be at ease. Of course, even if she had been paying attention she wouldn't have guessed the danger she was in.

Alucard crept closer to the student, watching eagerly with a grin on its face. Its camouflage faded slightly, but not all the way, the alien's skin greying slightly. Alucard listened to her enchanting tune, appreciating her ability with the instrument.

Now its yellow eyes shone from beneath the waters as it stared at her.

As Cael brings the song to an end she places the flute down onto her lap and tilts her head upwards. Her soft pink eyes open and just stare distantly at the ceiling. With a heavy but soundless sigh, Cael scooped back up her flute and began to play anew. Her eyes stayed focused on the ceiling as she concentrated on a harder and obviously more unfamilar tune.

The alien listened avidly to her new tune, its camouflage fading further. Its skin was now its natural granite-grey as it watched the pretty student. Its yellow eyes shined brighter in the water, each eye entirely yellow. Alucard licked its lips as it came closer, only a couple of feet from her now...

Cael continues to play her song utterly unware that she had an audience, much less what was in store for her. She knew that she'd have to start packing up here in a moment to get to her evening classes.

Alucard looked at its victim-to-be with hunger, and now it rose slowly from the water, raising a massive hand out to grasp her. Alucard's camouflage was completely gone as it reached for the student.

It was the movement that caught the corner of her vision. The thing that stood before was something that should not have been. She found herself frozen in terror as her eyes and the large gray monsters yellow orbs stared into one anothers. Clutching at her flute tightly as ever muscule in her body tensed and every fiber sceamed run. Cael merely just tilted her head as if curious yet never making a single sound. Scared as she was she was also facsinated. Of course, had she known his intentions...

"Well, hello," said Alucard to the monstrosity. The alien's head was half of its height, and half of that head was devoted to Alucard's toothless mouth. When it spoke to her, its voice sounded as if it were several voices, several dozen, all talking at the same time, with the same rhythm, same cadence, same timing. As Alucard spoke to her, its eyes continued to shine.

"So, what are you doing here?"

The frightened girl nearly jumps when the thing speaks to her. Her pink eyes wide like saucers as she watched him but did not respond verbally. Instead she merely holds her flute up and towards the bumpy gray monster. Deep down her gut was telling her to flee now but her curiousity held her in place.
