Post Pools of Lust (for Aubrey Mae)
The pool was completely empty now. There were no gym classes this late in the afternoon. No swim team practices, for it was the wrong day of the week. And, strangely enough, nobody had come to swim by their lonesome, even though the school's pool was as open as ever. It also didn't seem like the best location for a monster to lay in wait. It was here in the open air, and it was daytime. People could walk past and at a glance see whatever was going on at the pool. Cries of pleasure would almost certainly draw attention.

But the pool was not as open as it seemed. From inside most of the view was blocked off by large shrubs. The parts looking out, where you could see other parts of campus, weren't actually pointing towards paths or any other high-traffic areas. Even the location worked against it, nestled as it was away from any crowded areas. In fact, if you did go out, you'd realize that the clearing was merely a thinner patch of the forested section of the island. So, at first glance, the place seemed perfectly safe and public. But in reality, that was merely an illusion.

And the monster Antipode knew this. It waited here, invisibly enjoying the warmth of the sun and the coolness of the water. It had no form that could be seen. At least, no form it wished anyone to see. And so, even if someone came and disturbed its peace, they would not find anything amiss.

And what I thought I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes. That way I wouldn't have to deal with any of those goddamn stupid useless people. If any of them wanted to tell me something they'd have to write it on a piece of paper and shove it over to me. They'd get bored as hell doing that after awhile, and then I'd be through having conversations with them for the rest of my life. That'd be fine if that wasn't exactly how things work on the internet!
