I nod closing my eyes as I listen to her. I then open an eye and look at her as she seems to be too lost in thought for a moment. "What's the matter, thinking I'm too good to be true or something?" I ask her with a smirk.

Something about the question rubbed her the wrong way. Part of it was the smirk, which made it seem he was mocking her. Some of it was that he apparently just assumed that she was thinking that of him, however close to the truth it was. And, if she was honest with herself, there was also annoyance at herself for being quite so easy to read. In any case, she felt it was time to end this conversation before she got angry.

"Er... Not really. Look, I should get going, so..." She turned and started down the now-empty hallway to get her bag.

"Ha, I suppose that's another reason why you got a bad rep, you have diffculty opening up, especially when someone can see right into you and read so much of you." I tell you as you turn around. "I would like to talk again with you, you seem quite intelligent, and fun. I think you could be a good friend if you want to." I offer the shy girl I though, or maybe social awkard would be a better way to put it.

She was still a bit uneasy about something. Had she actually said anything about her reputation? She didn't think so, but she wasn't sure, and he might just have made an accurate assumption from what she had said.

She quickly sized him up. If the worst came to the worst, she was pretty sure she could outfight him, and she felt she really should give him the benefit of the doubt without more evidence to back up her unease.

"Well, okay, I guess so." She picked up her bag from where she'd put it. "My classes usually end around this time."

"I have a few things to do tommorow. How about we meet up at the student resturant and get a burger around this time tommorow then?" I ask her with a smile as that would give me time to get ready.

"Sounds good. See you then." She smiled and was off back to the dorms.

The next day, she was at the restaurant after her classes were over. Having come straight there, she was still in her uniform and looked slightly uncomfortable. I should've asked to meet a bit later... given myself time to change into something else. I don't like wearing this thing anyway, and I'd rather be a bit less... exposed... until I'm sure he isn't looking for anything beyond friendship.

She then hears a chair being pulled back as I take a seat and smile at her. "I hope I didn't make you wait long?" I ask her with a smile.

"No. I just got here myself."

Over his shoulder, she noticed a couple of girls looking daggers at her. If looks could kill... Wonder what they'd think if they knew I was no competition for them?

A thought suddenly struck her. Maybe I've been completely wrong about his motives. There aren't many males on campus, and he's not much older than the students. He probably has some of the students chasing after him all the time. He's pretty good at reading people... Maybe he took interest in me because I'm not interested in more than friendship with him. She relaxed slightly. If that was the case, it would be a load off her mind.

"That's good." I tell her with a smile as I read her rather well, she was pretty open, she wasn't shy, and she was straight forward, so this led me to two conclusion and with a few of her manerisms I pick one.

"Well I'll be having my usually. I already ordered it, so feel free to go do so with your food." I tell her waiting till she gets back and our food arrives until I begin our discussion. "So Susan, are you a lesbian or bi?" I ask her calmly like it was something normal.

The question took her by surprise with its bluntness, and her cheeks flushed slightly. Judging from his tone, it was clear he knew it was one or the other and he was just asking out of curiosity, not due to some closed-minded bigotry. Still...

Not the sort of thing I'd expect someone to just ask straight out. Especially since the school's supposed to be rather strict. But, I did tell myself I'd be honest about my sexuality because it bothers dad so much.

She grinned slightly. "Lesbian. Am I really that obvious?"

I smirk. "Well certain things make it obvious, it's harder to read humans past there inital tendency and other such things. The way I came to that conclusion about you is first off your comment about the DOA series when we first meet. You talked about there... graphics. Now I'll admit that if your in to that sort of thing, they defintly have the graphics for it, so that at least told me that you were intreasted in girls.

The second reason is something that might sound a bit vain of me to say, usually every girl I come across has an intreast in me, being as I'm like that oasis of a guy or the mirage of one in a desert of nothing but women around you. You didn't act shy at all around me, except when I pointed out my ability to read you let alone showed any intreast and your a straight forward person so it appeared you had no intreast in me other then friendship. However this alone did not mean you were a strick lesbian, since you have someone waiting back home for you, who could be a guy, but now I know it's a girl." I tell her with a smile as I explain a bit of my reasoning as I sip on the soda they provide.

"Okay, I see." Her grin broadened. "I was half afraid I'd been a bit unsubtle looking at some of my classmates or something." After a brief pause for a bite of her burger, she added, "And I'd noticed you had a fan club of sorts. Hard to miss when they're trying to focus their anger into death-glares at me."

In the back of her mind, she still felt there was something wrong about his explanation. She took another bite of the burger, giving herself a bit of time to try to work out what was bugging her.

I sigh at that comment. "Well it's hard not to. I understand why. I mean after all I'm the only guy here that's close to your age on an Island of all girls. Plus to not and try too vain I'm pretty good looking so of course. Still, for me it's about quality not quanity. I'm a guy who can mantain a simblance of control." I tell her.

She avoided making any comments about just how unsuccessful he was being at 'not sounding too vain.' In this setting, a lot of the straight girls probably were going to focus on any reasonably attractive male around, so he could easily have come to see it as happening as a matter of course.

"Well, they're harmless as long as they stick to looking daggers at me. If they try anything more, I should be able to convince them that I'm not competition." She paused for a moment, then added, "convincing them they aren't in the running is probably impossible, though."

I lean my head down and sigh again. "Tell me about it, ha, ha, ha but I suppose there are worse fates then having a group of girls as your fan club, after all I'm sure you'd enjoy such a thing as well." I tell her with a laugh.

"However enough about that, why not go about something else. Since I'm a tutor it might be best for you to use those friendship points you've been accumulatiing for some studies if you need them." I tell you with a smile.
