Post The Wishmaster (For Persephone and perhaps Freya)
The Nightbringer had grown tired of his current games and tricks for the moment and as such had spent the last number of days in solitude as the wheels inside of his head turned attempting to devise a new game. He needed something new to add into the mix, something that would achieve his goals and satisfy his dark desires while ever playing upon the mental workings of those chosen. When broken down to the basics humans could only find conflict with a few key areas, mental, physical, spiritual and emotional. Interconnected as these things were, there was only so many ways to corrupt or break them apart and The Nightbringer did so enjoy watching his plaything's struggle. Not that any of that helped him to figure out what he wanted. Before his self imposed exile into the shadows of the basement, he had taken to watching the other monsters around the island work and take their own pleasure as they wanted hoping that it would inspire him yet such things held interest, they were all things he had done before and would doubtlessly do again.

His unseen eyes narrowed briefly though like a shadow the dark beings face was featureless as he sat against the wall, as inspiration struck him. He had been thinking far to linear and neglecting some of his other darker gifts. As the creature brought his terrible will forth, the pits of his eyes turned to a blazing crimson, piercing the shadows yet giving off no real light of their own. The already dark and desolate room grew cold as the shadows about the room shifted, growing darker by the moment and more menacing. Bringing his hand up, palm up and fingers open the shadows began to coalesce into a small pool of black ooze upon his hand as they swirled about, bending to his will. With a slight flare of his demonic eyes, the pool of shadow begins change once more, folding in upon itself and reforging itself into a small black ring. The ring itself was merely a simple band of onyx with a thin strip of obsidian down its center. It would work nicely for his purposes as his hand clutched tightly around the ring, pulling it and himself back into the shadowy void of his home. Now he just had to find somewhere to put it so that a student could find it.

He didn't want just any student to find it though, he wanted someone worthy of playing in his newest game to find and use the ring. That could have made things difficult, but he figured he'd simply just take the ring back if they didn't pass his judgement of them or at the very least just move the ring to another location before it was found.

It was here in the theatre department that The Nightbringer's odd ring had come to finally rest, hidden within the jacket of an old sea Captain. He'd moved it a few times already and was growing impatient. While normally not the most emotional of creatures, he had found himself in a foul mood and decided that the NEXT student to find the ring was going to play the game even if he had to make them worthy of it. Like a fisherman waiting for his bait to be taken, the shadowy creature remained hidden away and watching with unblinking eyes.
