Ghosts of the Past (for Makenna)
Rebecca was still adjusting to life on the island. Her interests had been harder to meet though she had known that coming to the island. There was no kendo competitions other than those few that came up on the island and thus opposition was rather scarce, especially with anyone matching her skills as she did so practically all her life,
And Judo … well she was never really good at it but hadn't found anyone interested in Martial Arts just yet. There were girls around she was sure though she did not have the time to search out a club. At least if she found one she could increase her skill a bit unlike her Kendo skills that we bound to stagnant unless she found suitable opposition.
But all that aside she had to drop a class and pick up the mandatory science lab for the credit. She had mistakenly token an advanced course that she had to drop for the basic 101 version of the course not that she would do much better here.
Becca was a failure when it came to the academic side of things, well not a failure she was a solid C student. She just didn't apply herself as hard to Academics as she did Kendo. So there she was getting signed into her latest chemistry class.
For no reason other than the fact that she was in the professor's line of sight at the time Makenna was told to catch the girl up on notes after class.
This was Rebecca Walker from Okinawa, Japan she was introduced to the class. She sat at at empty set and got out her note book out and science text book. Becca was sitting next to her so she notices the glimpse of something that she carried about in her book bag though it was not a standard text book but by the looks of it a comic of some sort ...

Re: Ghosts of the Past (for Makenna)
Makenna woke up feeling great today, a smile still on her face for no particular reason even when she left her dormroom. Stepping outside, she brushed her bangs out of her eyes with her hand; walking down the hall in her standard school uniform, her long golden hair put up in her trademark two ponytails that reached down to her firm butt. Bag slung over her shoulder, Makenna made her way to her first class of the day, walking slowly across campus and enjoying the bright sunshine, and the smell of the trees and grass in the open air.
When she finally arrived at her classroom (still a solid 5 minutes early!) Makenna entered, still wearing a slight smile from her good mood as she sat in her desk and began to pull out her materials for class and set them on her desk. She couldn't tell you why she was so happy, but she was sure her day would go quite well.
However, with the start of class came the end of her good mood. As class started, the professor came to the front of the room and began introducing a new student. When Makenna looked up, her smiling face immediately turned sour, appearing for just a tiny moment like she might cry before changing to an indifferent expression. This new girl... Rebecca, looked like an almost exact twin of one of her two dear best friends from her childhood. Her only two real friends... Who had died in a sudden car collision. Memories came flooding over her and she had almost broke out in tears, her old grief coming back in a rush for a moment before she quickly mastered over herself. Forcing herself to look normal, she replaced the sad memories with happy ones, memories of the times they had shared... For awhile she had even fallen in (unrequited) love with her friend.
Finally having completely regained her composure as Rebecca sat down next to her (although her mood was effectively ruined), Makenna turned to the other girl and gave the best smile she could muster at the time, whispering to her, "Hey there! I'm Makenna... I have time after class if you want to go over those notes?"

Re: Ghosts of the Past (for Makenna)
Becca was very observent. The trait was necessary when she practiced Kendo for it helped in finding openings and making ones that weren't there by seeing how they were likely to react. Kendo was sometimes like an extensive chess match between two evenly matched opponents. It was as much a mental thing as much as it was physical and she noticed the bright cheery mood of the blond sap away as she had brought her eyes to focus upon her.
She wondered what had happened, why the mood change then reasoned that it had something to do with the other girl not liking to bring new studnts up to speed. No, that was not right. It did not feel right but she had no was of knowing her mood and so couldn't really assume anything.
Thus she sits, digging out a few pens, her notebook and book for the class itself before her eyes settle on something within that leaves her smiling, a slight blush on her cheeks before she closes the bag up. She probably thought nothing off it, probably thought that the other girl wasn't paying close attention and had no way of knowing that she looked like Casey. None at all.
She turns to the other student. Gosh, she's pretty!
Quickly she looks away and nods. She then steals herself then looks back into those bright blue eyes totally unaware that she was still blushing a little from earlier.
“Rebecca Walker. Pleased to meet you and yeah, I would like that. Today I don't have any afternoon classes.”
She struggles to pay attention during class but winds up doodling part way into class, making the faces of anime characters currently Saber from Fate/Stay Night. When class is finally over she quickly packs up and turns to Makeena.
“Stay here? I don't know if there's another class coming in though we can go to the cafeteria and go over things there too.”
