The Darkening Sky (for Zoe)
It was getting later in the day; that beautiful time when the sun and moon yawn lazily at the same moment, cycling into each other's celestial positions.
Legion hated sunlight. His natural body temperature was about 140 degrees Fahrenheit, and his eyes were carefully tuned to the darkness; the burning ball of hydrogen frustrated him like nothing else. Assuming the approximate form of a man, the demon stood 7 feet tall, gauntly thin and toned in his usual black. Glowing red eyes peered out from his shadowy hideout, leaning against a building wall facing the forest, the building projecting a dark shade over him from the sun on it's opposite side. He didn't care whether he was seen or not; The heat outside made him restless and impatient, and the first person to see him would be choking on his cock before they had the chance to turn and run. He chuckled to himself at the thought, watching the outside door and forest trail closely.

The only reason Zoë was even faintly aware of how long she had been out was because the battery on her MP3 players began to die. As her mother's cover version of Real Emotion grew soft and finally died out entirely, Zoë’s jogging gait similarly slowed and to merely a fast walk. Breathing hard, Zoë carefully took the ear buds out of her ear and looked around, brushing a lock of sweat drenched hair form her face as she did so.
"Crap," she gasped between breaths. "Where am I?"
The petite student stood out like sore thumb in her purple sports bra and matching cycling shorts against the lush green backdrop of the woods. She kept walking (knowing stopping know without stretching would hurt like hell in the morning), looking around carefully at her surroundings. She was still on a path and was fairly sure that it would lead her back to the dorms, but not positive. The sun was setting, and she had been at Shokushu long enough to know that was bad.
The thought alone was enough to send her jogging again, her calves and knees crying out in protest at the stopping and staring again. Her body wasn’t used to this sort of thing - which is exactly why she had taken it up - and let her know it with each step and she ran down path as quickly as she could, desperately trying to beat the sun home.
Lost in the panic of what could be, Zoë was completely obvious to her actual surroundings. As soon as she saw a campus building up ahead, she put on a second burst of speed and burst free of the tree line into the shadow of said building before slowing to painful stop, doubled over nursing a cramp in her side and trying to catch her breath.
"Made it,” she whispered in relief…

Suddenly, Legion perked up. The sun was almost gone, and as he stared out over the field towards the forest jogging path, a figure had just emerged; It was prey. The girl had slowed to a stop and bent over herself; Some completion ritual? These creatures fascinated him to no end. Now in a more curious mode than agitated, he decided to watch for a minute longer. If her target was in fact the building he so obviously rested on, then she would begin coming closer and notice him; Apparently not human from any distance. Just for his own sadistic pleasure, he decided to let her approach and do what she would; Let her know that her own error had put her in his grasp. He grinned at the thought of her terror, and then at the thought of her pleasure.
Waiting some 10 feet from the building door and at least 100 from the forest where she stood, he waited and watched, confidently.
