Post Dusk (for Nitalia)
The sun was sinking in the cloudy sky, painting the clouds with an orange portrait of it's glory. Birds were settling in their trees, begging softly for night to put them to rest. But unlike the graceful birds or glorious sun, another creature was stirring, one of malice.

Through the shrouded forest Legion stalked, in the rough outline of a man. He stood nine feet off the ground, thin sleek chest of obsidian skin with four lanky arms. His legs were long and muscular, but had three visible segments, as opposed to a human leg, which had only two. Pouring out from his back were torrents of blood-red tentacles, slashing irritatedly at the air. They were long, encircling trees as he moved, feeling every crevice of the ground, each a thick and muscular trunk, slick with a greased oil.

Moving close to the ground, almost on all fours, Legion stepped quietly through the woods towards the east jogging trail, where he would wait for his prey. His face was nearly human, but in the black skin color of the rest of his body. Glowing red eyes pierced the fading light, long flicking tongue sniffing the air. As night approached, the massive organ protruding from his crotch rose, firming at a solid sixteen inches. As the sun continued to fall, he reached the edge of the trail and hid, waiting for prey to stumble within range.

Nitalia ran down the path at that steady pace, quick enough to keep the strain high on her body while keeping energy waste to a minimum so that she didn't burn out in the first half of the trail. She ran through the forest slowly, keeping to her schedule of running every morning and then again every evening.

She wore her usual gym clothes, the tight light-gray t-shirt that clung to her body, showing the straps of her sports bra beneath, containing her generous breasts, offering only a slight bounce as she ran, her shorter dark-gray gym shorts soo short that they offered a teasing view of the bottom curve of her rump. She wore the usual cotton panties beneath, her long, athletically-toned legs visable from her upper thigh down to her ankles, where ankle-socks were hidden by her shoes as she ran.

She ran through the shaded forest, watching for any signs of attackers, knowing that the path was a favored spot, though she was too afraid to run through the forest away from the path. Sure, she might make it through without encountering a single creature, though she was sure that in the darkness of the forest, horrors she hadn't yet dreamed of lurked.

Sweat had soaked through her t-shirt at her pits, at the base of her neck and between her breasts, she paying this no mind as she ran as fast as she could manage and still keep her energy. She knew that there was not much left of the path, beginning to pick up more speed subconsciously as she neared the end of the path, the end of the danger for the night.

Here she came. Legion watched the girl at a near sprint down the last half mile of the trail, spooked by the disappearance of the day. He pondered momentarily, how he should act to make the most of his catch. She was already energized, running on the beaten bath through the trees; perhaps it would be best to have her run in the other direction for a while. Maybe he would hold her body in a long war of attrition, waiting for her to slowly tire herself completely. He hadn't quite decided when he finally moved.

In front Nitalia a long, jointed black leg kicked out into the middle of the path, sharp claws rooting themselves firmly in the earth. Behind it was hauled Legion's large, thin torso, followed by his other leg, planting several feet from the first in the ground. He was still stooped, back arched up high while his two pair of forearms swayed back in forth just over the trail: He was blocking the way.

His voice was an attempt at human, much like the rest of his body. Powerful vocal chords resonated at lower tones than mortally possible, rendering a deep growl of a voice:

"Good evenink."

This was followed by a slight tilt of his head, and a wide toothy grin, revealing rows of razors lining his mouth.

Nitalia had been keeping a watch out for the bushes and so she was not suprised when the dark form moved out of the bushes, blocking the a path ahead of her. She would slid to a step, still breathing rather heavily as she assessed it quickly. For a brief moment, she wondered if it would just be simpler to give in, let it have it's way with her and let her go on her way, but she snapped herself out of it. That was no way to be thinking at all. And so she would continue sprinting towards the creature, she dashing into the forest at a diagonal angle as soon as she reached 20 feet from the creature, hoping that the dense, near-jungle of the foilage would allow her to loose the creature.

She knew that the jungle was dangerous, but she also knew that nothing in the jungle would be worse then what was on the path trying to get her. And so she chose the most concentrated group of trees, dashing towards it so that the creature would have the hardest time to follow.

Legion watched the girl dash to his side, expecting a slightly more dramatic response. He had somewhat expected her to stop entirely, quiver in terror and reverse direction. Perhaps, faint in place. Maybe this creature was different than the others he had encountered in some way; more adept, faster or smarter. No matter. As she ran past the slow, hulking figure, he stood still, uttering in his demonic growl:

"Very wellk."

A flash of red light and a monstrous roar, and the black form of a skeletally thin man burst through the forest at inhuman speed. Tentacles emerged from his back and carried him around large tree trunks and overhangs, practically soaring through the overgrowth towards the sprinting girl ahead of him.
