You could see the moon. It was still barely afternoon, but it was just one of those days when you could see the moon anyway. Half a faded disk hiding behind the blanket of atmosphere that keeps this planet so warm and cozy.

Pyro payed the phenomenon little mind, it ran through the back of his head as he played his usual game. His agile form sprang from treetop to treetop, four, five, six, and he plummeted to the ground, falling a solid 30 feet and rolling when he contacted the dirty surface. His record was 11, and he was trying desperately to break it. Not so desperately, however, that he didn't hear a fresh morsel approaching. Light footsteps, quickened, across gravel trail. Pyro instantly righted himself and flew up a nearby tree, knowing the girl would pass under him within a few seconds. Until then, he planned his assault from the canopy.

My breath was finally catching up to me. I breathed hard, putting my hands to my knees and gasping for air. I coughed slightly, my face glowing red from exhaustion.
