Winter's Calling, by Aurora & Pan

Ulterior motive. It was one of Pan’s specialties. It never ceased to amaze him at the variety of talents that humans possessed. Perhaps if they’re weren’t so troublesome and unpredictable Pan would be able to bring himself to even- dare he say it, like a few of the damnable creatures. There was one exceptional one that had caught his attention on one of his outings with his creator. What had first caught his eye were the shimmering snowy locks that cascaded down her tall, supple form. Though it didn’t take the demon lord long to figure out that this particular human female contained capabilities beyond most humans.

He’d followed her for several hours throughout the day, inconspicuously disguised as a Raven, biding his time before darkness enveloped the island and he would return to the glory of his dusk prowess. While he had expected something of the girl that was beyond average human capability, he was pleasantly surprised to find that the girl was under the guidance of a deity- Skadhi. That was the name that the human Aurora knew her by anyway. Pan knew her by several: Cailleach Bheur and Demeter throughout recent history, but since the dawn of time she was identified only by the chill she wrought upon lesser creatures of the Abyss that defied her.

So it was for this reason that Pan had sent Berith to the Abyss to retrieve a few necessities for him- something that would benefit him. Like Skadhi, Asmodeus had been in existence since the beginning of time and harbored no fear towards the goddess, but the Demon Lord had no desire to feel her cold, wrathful touch.

The instant dusk settled on the island the demon lord went to work. He chose the furthermost part of the island, beyond the sight of the dormitories. With powerful, guided strokes of his arms the massive demon lord conducted the shadows like a composer would a symphony. Masses of undulating orbs of darkness streamed through the night skies, attaching themselves to one another and solidifying into a powerful mass. After several moments the structure was identifiable as a moderately sized rock- covered in lush grasses and flowers, which served as a platform for his true creation. With a flick of his wrist, and a load groan the structure lifted upward into the sky. The demon lord added an ethereal stream that cascaded over the edges of the platform, dissipating into nothingness in mid-air to accentuate the god-like qualities of his creation.

A shadowy mist lingered against the demon lords thick, muscled back slowly solidifying into majestic inky wings. He crouched low, propelling himself off of the ground and into flight. He ran circuits around his large base, his arms gliding through the air gracefully as they commanded more shadows to his whim. Several shadows started to swell in the center of the structure, forming into a solid base. As the base solidified it took on an icy hue, and chilled lightly, frosting over as the structure grew in size. Moments passed and pillars seemed to sprout from the Earth of his platform. More and more the structure started to take on the characteristics of a Romanesque styled manor, massive in size with the bottom most level left open to the elements. To serve as the entry way into this ethereal home was a shining aqua portal settled inside of the center of the open quarters.

Once satisfied with his work the demon send a spiraling pillar of shadows up towards the skies above the construct, the hulking mass forming a deep violet cloud. With a small flick of his wrist, soft fluffy flakes began to snow silently on top of not only his construct, but the island as well.

“Boss, Boss!” The demon lord’s ears pricked as the high pitched voice rang from the island. He looked down to see one of his imp minions, Gaap, identifiable by the ridiculous red baseball cap and oversize jersey that clothed him. The important feature of the small darkling was the large urn-like vase he was waving around wildly.

“Berith-came-back-boss- ‘e telled me to bring dis to ya.” Silently Pan descended, snatching the vase from Gaap just as he touched down on the Earth. He shook it lightly, nodding in satisfaction at the weight.

“Now you listen to me in there,” Pan started with a threatening hiss. “I need you to do something for me, rest assured you will be rewarded handsomely for your efforts.

She was beautiful. Her hair was silvery white and swirled about her illuminated form. Her body was adorned in gleaming mithral, Viking carvings decorating her armor. Her toned belly, legs and arms were left uncovered, they didn’t have to be. Everything about this being exhumed power, even the blue frostlike quality of her skin. She stood proudly, her long legs carrying her towards the awkward structures of the dormitories. Her eyes scanned the darkened windows lining the far side of the dorms, the sapphire oculars finally settling on one window in specific.

”Aurora,” She called softly, a cooling mist spewing from her lips as she called to the priestess. After several moments the servant of Skadhi called once more, her melodic voice would only reach the ears of those blessed by her deity.

Aurora was asleep in her room in the dorms.

In her dreams, she was back home in her village in Norway - a full Priestess and Elder of her people now. She took on the full weight of her responsibilities now - using her gift to protect and teach those who lived there.

It was a winter festival - and the entire village was celebrating Skadhi's strength, and the protection she continues to offer their people. Aurora smiled and laughed as a light snow fell among the village. Not enough to interfere with anything - but enough for the children to run about and play in. The weather adding a bright glitter to the celebration that lit up the square and lodges and temples of the small Viking community.

"Aurora." a soft melodic voice called out. In her dream, the priestess looks around, seeking out whoever it was who called her.

"Aurora." the voice comes again, penetrating the dream as the voice seems to echo with the Goddess' gift that lives inside her.

The priestess suddenly sits up from her sleep. "My Goddess." she murmurs in surprise, but certain that the call she heard was sent to her. Quickly, the young woman slips from her bed, and grabs one of her prayer robes.
She slides the white, fur-lined silk over her naked body, and rushes from her room and out of the dorm - intent only on following the voice of her Goddess that calls her forth.

The exotic armor clad guardian waited stoically, confident that the priestess had heard her calls. She stood in wait, her hand gently resting on the hilt of a massive silver-hued sword. Her cerulean eyes narrowed at the entrance to the dorms, knowing it to be the entrance that the mortal would come through. As the priestess came into the courtyard the beautiful guardian unsheathed her sword plunging the tip gracefully into the Earth and kneeled before Aurora, though her gaze never wavered from its fixated stare at the priestess’s enchanting eyes. The glimmering blade was intricately carved with runes from several cultures, though the most predominant was the Viking symbol for Ice.

“Skadhi calls for you m’lady. I am Shae’lah, I’ve come to show you the way.” She breathed softly, slowly rising to her feet. Aurora was tall, but she seemed almost miniscule next to the substantially tall guardian. The guardian waited patiently until Aurora closed the impressive gap between them before she withdrew her blade from the Earth and started to lead the way.

There was no particular path they were taking, the darkness that enveloped the island was of little consequence to the luminescent guardian. The tree’s seemed to sense their arrival before they came, shifting with the tinge of divine properties with shuddering limbs and shaky leaves as the pair approached them, creating an unobtrusive walkway. She led the girl in silence for what seemed an hour, her stoic features never pausing to even regard the priestess- though it seemed to be out of respect. As the pair neared the center of the forests the soft drift of snow would start to descend around the pair, giving a comforting feeling that they were nearing their destination.

After what seemed just over an hour, the pair approached the shoreline of the island, where the construct Pan had created was nowhere in sight. Shae’lah glanced upwards towards the sky, sheathing her blade and narrowing her gaze at the moon. Though it may have seemed utterly senseless to stand there to anyone else, Aurora would know the significance as the full moon slowly drifted across the sky. It was the hour of the gods.

The snow started to fall down on them in a torrent as the moon hit a particular position in the sky. A brisk, yet warm wind enveloped the pair an in a dazzling flash the floating structure appeared above them, seemingly unmoved by the near blizzard conditions.

For the first time since their meeting Shea’lah turned to face Aurora, nodding to her lightly. The look she gaze was rather expectant- control the storm and get to the isle. As if to reiterate her gesture the guardian raised her arms lightly. A pillar of snow surrounded the guarding and the winds roared with thunderous ferocity. Slowly the woman lifted off of the ground and her ascent towards the structure was almost magnetic.

Pan watched the delectable young woman below, carefully concealed as one of the various statuettes that littered the plateau’s garden. Pan was fully aware that Aurora hadn’t that kind of control over the storm, but considering it was demon-made he would be inclined to help her in her ascent.

((OOC: Sorry for the delay - just really been struggling with writer's block lately :( ))

Aurora is startled as the warrior kneels before her, even as she recognizes the runic symbols on the blade. She quickly collects herself though and listens to the messenger's words.

She bows in response to the guardian. "My Goddess calls to me, and her servant answers the call. I shall follow where you lead, Shae'lah." she proclaims in a proud, strong voice.

The priestess does not speak to the guide, content to let the messenger's silence be her guide. All will be made clear in time, she is sure. Besides, one does not question the call of the gods - one either heeds the call or ignores it. For Aurora, even that choice does not exist. She is the living spirit of Skadhi, and she WILL answer when her Goddess calls.

The priestess stares in awe as they come to the edge of the island, she beholds the glorious floating palace of marble, gardens and water. It looks like something out of Asgaard, or Valhalla. Truly such splendor would have to be the work of the gods. As the snow and wind envelops them, Aurora smiles, and holds her arms out slightly to delight in the weather. Clearly Skadhi has truly chosen to make her presence known to call the storm around them, and yet warm enough to be comfortable.

Aurora trembles slightly at Shea'lah's expectant gaze as she watches the guardian's slow ascent. Perhaps her Goddess is not pleased with her, she begins to worry! Maybe she has disappointed Skadhi that her control is as weak as it is.

She has never FLOWN! She has managed to lift herself off the ground a little bit, float one might say - but not without cost. She can't possibly reach the island on her own!

But she must try! If Skadhi is testing her, to give up now, would surely be a more devastating blow against Aurora, then to try and fail.

The priestess reaches to the storm inside her, and calls it forth to join with the storm around them. The wind and snow start to whirl around Aurora in such a fury as to almost hide her from view. She shivers as she feels the wind pulling at her robe.. the snow melting and soaking into it until the fabric clings tightly to her body.. shards of ice slashing through the gown, leaving long rips and tears through the silk. As the storm rages around the amazon, she begins to slowly rise from the ground, although her motion is unsteady and unbalanced.

She ignores the cold and the sting of the ice and snow though.. ignores the damage that is being done to her only clothing.. and focuses on only one thing. She MUST reach the island!!

[Not a problem, happens to me all of the time ^^. If you ever require an edit I'm more than happy to do so as well.]

Pan watched rather impressed as the Priestess managed to get herself afloat with no assistance from Pan. With his persistence the storm soon became as tumultuous as the roaring sea, all the sounds drowned away from Aurora except the sound of her own steady heart beat. As she began to lose control of the storm the demon lord steadied her, slowly assisting her in a much smoother ascent towards the platform.

After what seemed a troublesome eternity Aurora’s feet finally found the solid earth of the platform and the storm seemed to calm to a gentle drift of snow. As Aurora would look around the platform at the breathtaking beauty of the plantlife, closer observation would reveal that they seemed to be made of crystalline ice, giving of a radiant hue and adding to the mystique of the place.

The icy river cut like veins across the platform, the frosty blue water glimmering with diamond shards as the streams rushed off the edges of the floating earth. Where the river started was indiscernible, as though this piece of land was plucked right from the land of the gods and placed here.

Shae’lah waited patiently for Aurora near the undulating portal watching with a stern gaze as the priestess made her way up the icy stone pathway towards the stony temple.

“This is where I take my leave priestess.” She said respectfully, dipping into a low bow before dissipating into a burst of snow, caught by an unseen and unfelt wind that drifted off into the night air.

The portal before Aurora was ever-changing in its ethereal hue. It seemed to breathe, as though alive, ready to take Aurora to the court of her deity.

[sigh - sorry for the long absence again :( Not the best way to start a thread was it :(]

Aurora is panting with the effort as the storm settles her, a bit unsteadily on the island. Her hair is a wild tangle from the wind, and her gown is now soaked and clings tightly to her body, where it isn't ripped from the shards of ice that raked her inside the storm. The silk is now so sheer as to be almost translucent - hiding nothing of her body.

Aurora is a priestess called to her Goddess though, and she feels no shame or embarrassment about her appearance as she stares at the beauty all around her.

After taking a moment to get her breath back, and to get over the awe of the grandeur all around her, she approaches Shae'lah, bowing before the guardian's stern gaze.

Aurora gasps as Shae'lah disappears, but bows in respect. "Thank you, Shae'lah for being my guide and guardian. May Skadhi bless you." The priestess takes a slow, deep breath as she looks at the swirling portal. She straightens her back, gathering both her pride and her respectful devotion as she steps into the portal.

The transition from one realm to the next was not necessarily a painful; it was just by no means pleasant in the least. As Aurora breached the threshold of the ever-changing portal, an astonishing chill shot through her fingertips and throughout her limbs. It was a throbbing numbness that plagued the tall, nigh-albino girl’s body. It seemed that every inch of her form had a dull aching tingle often associated with constriction of blood.

Time seemed timeless as she made the journey through, for what little she could open her eyes in the luminance of the portal she would be able to decipher little more than what appeared to be a tunnel aligned with streaming light of varying array. Every so often the tunnel would break or come to a crossroads, jettisoning the girl this way and that and undoubtedly leaving her nauseas on more than one occasion.

Her exit from the portal was hardly graceful, and it seemed to the young woman that she must have been suspended in that tingling hell for an eternity. So as she was dispelled she was thrown forcibly from the dazzling portal before it dissipated into nothingness.

The room was not dark, but due to the brilliance of the portal dispersing it seemed little more than dully lit by the violet-hued torches that lined the ebon crystalline walls in succession. As her eyes adjusted to the dimness of the room she would see that it was rather extravagant in décor, and hardly what one would expect in a deity such as Skadhi. Lush, royal purple velvet draperies lined the tall, arching windows on the far side of, what could only be deciphered as a dining hall. The room itself was grandiose in size, and the design seemed to favor Victorian Gothic, with insidious archaic designs lining tall archways and pillars that lined either side of the room in perfect parallel. Amidst the room was what was to be expected, a long set table lined with china that seemed to be made of ice itself, pleasantly frosted as a banquet fit for nobles was spread across it’s center.

Tantalizing smells wafted to the young girls nose. Honeyed hams, delectable roasts, and an assortment of finely prepared eateries lay splashed across the table emitted intoxicating aromas, inviting, or rather seducing the girl to sit.

A closer examination of the obsidian walls and the young Priestess would begin to feel the low, humming pulsation about as subtle as a heartbeat. As such sweet vibrations would penetrate the girl’s stable body, the etched runes on the wall would glow ever so slightly.

There was a place, at the end several paces ahead from where the portal had dropped Aurora where there were three silver, ornately designed boxes, all ranging in sizes from small to somewhat large. They seemed to catch the light in such a way that they glimmered deviously as if enticing the girl to open them.

Pan watched the girl as she collected herself from behind a pillar. His fingers, unsheathed from his talon-laced armor lightly ran the length of his silken sleeve to the hem as he adjusted the cufflinks at his tux lightly. The more eccentric part of Pan’s personality favored the 16th century fineries of noble living. A mixture of silk and velvet, favoring ebon and crimson hues, with what appeared to be leather boots, finely polished. The demon obviously favored silver as well, as the cufflinks and brooch at his neck were both similar in intricate design as the gift boxes lay at the table. The bastard denizen of darkness may have been able to pass for human at a first glance, but his substantial height and ominous presence accompanied with his glowing canary yellow eyes would surely give him away. He sank back slightly behind the pillar as the girl adjusted her form and began to observe her surroundings. He lowered his lids cautiously, surely dousing the decadent glow of his almond shaped eyes and waited patiently so that he might observe his catch.

As he watched Aurora his eyes began their subtle observation of the girl’s body. Ceremonial robes clung suggestively to the girl’s figure, wet from the storm that he himself had caused. He couldn’t help the smirk that formed at the corner of his lips as his acute gaze caught sight of the peach hued undertone of the pale girl’s flesh showing right through the garment. His gaze stood steadily at her shapely breasts, the full orbs pert and nipples erect as the chill bit haphazardly at her flesh.

There were very few mortal women that could tempt the demon, but the instant he laid eyes on the girl’s lustrous flowing, snowy locks any resentment he felt toward the girl instantly faded into desire.
”So she has me smitten,” He smiled at the thought to himself. The chase it seemed was on, and he knew that it would be hard to resist taking her every moment she remained in his grasp. ”Let us see how long she can hold me at bay.” Out of the corner of Pan’s eye he caught sight of something peculiar. His hair, which had been secured back with a ruby red silken tie had shifted from it’s characteristic raven hue, to as shocking a white one as Aurora herself had.

With a silent step Pan found himself beneath the soft light of the violet torches. His shoulders were broad, and his stature tall and imposing. His skin, was a smooth alabaster and contrasted heavily against the dark hues he had decided to wear.

“Aurora.” His voice was barely above a whisper, but seemed to reach the girl’s ears loud enough despite the distance that separated the pair. “You seem…chilled.” He stated the obvious with a sarcastic smile before he took a seat at the far end of the table.

With a soft wave of his hand two of the three boxes silently unlatched and their lids gently lifted. Inside the largest box was a luxurious ceremonial robe similar in design to Aurora’s own, though this one contained rather obvious modifications making it much more pleasing to the eye. The shoulders hung low on the garment, and it was sewn in such a way that several enticing portions of Aurora’s body (a low cut back, and slits on either side of the thighs) would be left unconcealed. It was powder blue in color, with artic colored fur lining the collar, with tails of unidentified creatures hanging from the left side to act as a sort of belt.

Within the second box, were a pair of rather seductive boots, powder blue in color and lined with fur matching in unison with the robes. Pan’s eyes shifted towards the right of the table (Aurora’s left) where a stone hearth laid in waiting, closer to the girl than it was to Pan. A fire was breathed to life instantaneously, sending warmth and bathing light over Aurora, and keeping Pan more distilled in the shadows of the room. He offered a curt bow, with a slight smile- even then his devilishly sharp teeth glittered in the darkness, before he pulled away a lush, full mahogany and velvet chair from the table and took a seat.

“Dress,” He said gesturing towards the robes. “Eat, drink.” Once more his hands followed suit by gesturing towards the direction of the food and blood red wine that began to fill the crystalline goblet in front of Aurora on it’s own accord.

Aurora gasps as she is hurtled through the portal.. the unnatural chill penetrating her body, in a manner that the raging storm had not. She closes her eyes as the tunnels of light race around her - both because such sights are not meant for mortal eyes, and because it makes it easier to avoid getting sick.

Still, keeping her eyes closed just contributes to her graceless exit from the portal, as she ends up falling flat on her rear, unprepared for the sudden exit.

She makes a soft groan as she stretches and stands up and begins to look around and take in the hall she sees around her. It is most definitely not what she had expected. It seems so ... modern. She had had visions of ancient viking lodges, with long heavy oak tables, lined with gold and silver.

She pauses for a moment, but then smiles and shakes her head. This is Asgaard after all - surely the gods can make it appear however they wish. And surely the velvets are more comfortable then sitting on oak or stone, and the purples add a color beyond that of wood, rock and gold. Why would the gods NOT fill their home with the greatest comforts and beauties that they could provide?

The rich succulent scents probably have a part in 'convincing' her that all is well though, as the rich aromas cause her to lick her lips, as her stomach tightens in expectation of the delightful feast. The chamber seems to hum with a life of its own.. the energy pulsing and echoing as it seems like a low drum beating through her body.. causing other parts of her body to pulse in sympathetic rhythm.

Aurora walks through the chamber with a mix of awe, curiosity and caution - wanting to see everything, but careful not to touch or disturb anything lest she give offense to her Goddess who has summoned her. She was so intent on her explorations, that she didn't notice Pan until he speaks to her.

Quote:

She jumps ever so slightly in surprise, causing her tattered gown to slip against her body, briefly baring a generous portion of one breast, before she adjusts the robe without thinking about it. "My pardon, m'lord. I fear that mortals such as I were not meant to travel such portals. Even with my Goddess' Gift, the passage has chilled me to the marrow." she admits, as she goes down to one knee before the being whom she assumes is either one of Skadhi's servants, or perhaps another of the gods, although in a guise she does not recognize."

Quote:

She gasps as the boxes open to reveal such beautiful and luxurious gifts.. the robe and boots of such elegant, luxurious and sensual materials. Even at Pan's encouragement, she hesitates a moment before reaching out and briefly running her hand over the soft fabrics and fur.

"My Lord." she murmurs and kneels again in response to the gifts, before picking the robe and boots up almost reverently before moving closer to the fire. The priestess feels no embarrassment or shame before her gods, and does not hesitate to slip out of her tattered gown - to stand there completely naked before the warmth of the fire that fills the hearth. The flames seem to play over the pale curves of her skin like fingers caressing and stroking her body - highlighting the pale, perfect skin - smooth and soft, yet with a warriors muscles underneath. Feminine, but strong.. beautiful and graceful, yet used to hard work and dedication.

The priestess sighs as she slips her feet into the fur lined boots. Pan is given a perfect view of her round buttocks as she bends over to lace up the soft doeskin of the boots. Aurora smiles with a bit of mischief as she takes a couple of steps, feeling the sway of her hips that the heels of the boots give to her walk. Satisfied with the fit, and feel of the warm boots, she gathers up the robe, and slips it around her body. The robe hugs at her arms, just off the shoulders, and is pulled in such that it seems to lift up her breasts in offering, as the fur lining traces across the mounds. She looks like she could fall out of the garment at any second - an image that is reinforced by the backless robe that hangs so low as to reveal the dimple at the small of her back, and provide just the slightest hint of the curves of her ass.

Aurora sighs as she shifts around in the robe - it feels so luxurious.. so decadent.. so... wicked! She blushes a little at that thought, thinking that that is hardly an appropriate thought to be having in the hall of her Goddess.

Dressed in warm, soft clothing, Aurora turns back to the table and approaches the food and wine laden feast. "Forgive me, my lord, for I mean no offense, but may I ask your name. I do not recognize you in the guise you currently wear. Are you one of my Goddess' heralds?"
