What a great night to go for a walk, Samara had her favourite hiking boots on and was walking down a deserted path. The sun was begining to slink behing the clouds so she quickened her pace. She stopped to catch her breath and opened up her rucksack grabbing her water bottle she took to quick gulps, before replacing it in her bag and carrying on her walk. Almost home she thought.

Gorral had edged closer to the buildings day by day, intrigued by the noises, by the smells, most of all by the strange energies he sensed from the mammals that hung around the large cubes of stone.

He squatted, crunching a rabbit that he held between claws with his sharp teeth, occasionally peeling back another fluffy strip to get to the flesh inside.
He flicked his tongue, washing his mouth and cleansing his palette when he tasted the air and caught a new scent.

Gorral ducked behind a tree, his sense aching to find out where the sweet flowery taste came from. His skin rippled a mottled brown to match the tree's bark and he wondered why his heart suddenly thumped with a rapid, heavy, blood-laden rhythm.

The path Samara was walking opened out the trees disapearing and the dusty road so turned to gravel. Nearing the dorm blocks her feet crunched on the gravel floor.
