Not many people returned out this way after encountering him, well humans at least. There had not been a repeat as far as the student body went not that he blamed them though he was somewhat limited … he had run across that blond twice though there were circumstances that drew him away from her. Both times he had been interfered with by other beings though the second time she was being used to goad another being. The first time, however, there was another creature present.

Everyone without fail that he had made an agreement with had not returned. He could not hunt them down while they were on the campus. He had left the jungle just once in his time here and just briefly for no longer then two minutes or so.

Birch felt vulnerable without the vegetation that had been around them though as his hunger grew he heard someone within his domain. For the time being he kept his hunger under control though there was an eagerness that the sound of movement brought to him. It was the sound of a dinner bell and he examined the student from between the foliage attempting to see just what she had been up to as he planned out how best to take this one … he had figured that she would be like the others and not return, though to her credit Ginger never promised that she would come back, only that she would think of it. All the broken promises though had been placing him in a soar mood at least at the times where he was getting hungriest .

Now what do we have here ... He considered as he watched the girl as best as he could even moving some of the plants out of the way to get a better view of what was going on.

Dressed in shorts, hiking boots, and a tank top, Tiana still felt more covered up than she had in weeks wearing the porn paraody that comprised the school uniform. She still had a mind to file a complaint about that, but right now she had other concerns.

She walked causally through the woods, not really hiking but not just out for a stroll either. She was looking more at the surrounding trees than the path, eyes wide and carefully examining until her face lit up upon finding what she needed. She turned from the path to head deeper into the woods. She had been here long enough, it was high time she set up an altar in her room. But it seemed she had misplaced her athame, though she was sure she had packed it... No matter. A wand made from the local fauna woukd work just as well.

And she had found the pefect length of brach on a tree just off the path. It was a little high up, sure, but Tiana wasn't afraid of a little climb. She reached the tree and with a grunt of effort, and careful grabbing with her hand and positioning with her feet, began to climb.

Curious, he watched the student as she moved with determination. It had seemed to him that she had no particular destination in mind and seemed to be sight seeing. He had at first thought she was a nature lover, she had seen them before though his opinion of that changed as he became aware of the fact that she was looking over the other plants.

Trees. She seemed to have an unusual interest in trees he noted … strange though perhaps she was interested only in trees and not other plants. Birch supposed that this was possible though he tracked her movements and followed along.

When she spotted a tree and began climbing it for no particular reason that he was aware of he had been dumbfounded. The student didn't seem to be lost where she might have needed a better vantage point to get her barrings, though he had a good view of her backside as she climbed.

Things did not come together until he saw that she was tying to snap on of the branches off. This caused him to react at once. Had she collected a branch already broken from the tree he may have simply watched or approached in a different manner.

“HEY!” He stepped forth, vines in the trees coiled about the branches streaked toward the student as Birch moved beneath her. If she fell and he failed to snatch her with a vine there was the possibility of catching her. She was not too high up but high enough to brake a bone which Birch would have liked to avoid if possible though he had already determined that she would have to pay in other ways.

“WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?”

Startled at the exclamation of 'HEY!', Tiana nearly did fall, but managed to grip her legs together on the brach tightly at the last moment. Of course this meant she was was now dangling upside down from said branch with only the grip of her bare legs between her and landing on her head, but at the moment that was a secondary concern.

The primary one being the creature she was now looking at.

Tiana gasped, eyes wide at the impossibility of what she was seeing. It looked like a man... But also a plant of some kind. For several moments, she wasn't sure how to respond. It was one thing to dabble in Wicca and believe in the power of nature, it was quite another to see it before you in a humanoid shape!

"Um.." she said slowly, getting the distinct impression that she was in a lot of trouble. "I was trying to... Take a bit of branch? For a new wand?"

When she said it out loud to a sentient tree, it sounded a lot more selfish than it had in her room that morning.

“Wand?” Birch considered that word as he mulled it over vines began to coil about the ankles of the upside down student. Her reaction was about what he would have expected from a student that may have encountered the unusual before.

Birch had been taught many things, many things had been ingrained in him about these humans and he knew some of their popular culture. “Oh, like in Harry Potter? Are humans capable of magic?” He seemed curious at least for the moment.

Her legs were opened enough so that the vines supported her and lowered her down. Rather then setting her down others worked to right her posture though she was still dangling a few inches off of the ground.

Birch glanced to the ground near the tree then back at her. “Very troubling. None of these discarded branches would suffice … I guess they are not as thick … just snapping off a branch … it is painful, but I suppose your kind wouldn't understand that. Your understanding is rather limited, you think that without a nervous system a plant doesn't feel pain, hm?

“Do you realize that plants are actual sentient beings? Why some even produce odors to repel insects that are eating them. Other plants of that same type produce the same odor when sensing that chemical realizing there is a threat in an area. But your tests for intelligence are limited by your understanding.” He was rambling on then approached the student.

He gripped her by the chin tilting her head back “Shall I brake an arm so you can share that experience? Hm?”

He seemed to study her for a moment either assessing the situation or basking in her terror or was it just something else. He delayed long enough for an answer, the Yengal seemed caught up in a thought as he nodded.

“I suppose it can't be helped with such limited understanding. You want that branch? I ought to teach you a lesson ...” Birch considered though he delayed for the moment allowing her o make her appeal.
