Post A Lonely Rock in Space (Argos)
Iria sighs as she leans back in her chair. Space travel was rather boring. Sure, maybe a fight might happen and she can see something explode. But, that hardly compares to a real fight using one's own body. Not like there was anyone even out here. Space is endless and the chances one was near your patch of space was slim to none out here in the middle of nowhere.

After a matter of months, the rookie had already made a less than favorable reputation amongst the ADD. Even the simpliest of missions she has been successful in turning into large life and death bouts throughout many planets and small cities. Such things were not a bother to Iria, getting the fights she wanted nothing else really matters. The ADD did not think the same way as repair bills for damaged ADD and other equipment, vehicles and property came rolling in after each mission. To minimize the trouble the woman causes on missions and their funds, missions in less rural areas were formed for the aggressive fighter.

"Tch..."

And this was what they came up with, search for scientist they lost contact with. From the tone of her captain's voice, it was no doubt they were not expecting survivors. Just how it was when you send a group of people to far off planets alone. But, her superiors wanted confirmation along with any data they may have collected. Searching dusty old ruins for things that do not matter in this century anymore along with searching for people who are more than likely long gone.... A mission that was going to eat up time and get her out of their hair.

Her thoughts were interrupted by the ship informing her of their arrival. She blinks at the data rolling across her screen. Not much vegetation. The planet had a dull gray color to it. The scanners could detect several large clusters of buildings. No doubt this planet used to be thriving with people. Now it was nothing but a dead rock in space. Iria sighs softly, no sign of any researchers or any signals. Better get started, this will be a long and boring mission.

The woman rises to her feet and walks to a large wall locker. Both her hands flex, fingerblades extending from all her fingers. With another flex they retract back behind her nails. She opens the locker revealing a mass variety of weapons. Pistols, knives, some explosives though those were mostly confiscated after her last few missions. A weapon of note though was a large warhammer that took up much of the storage space of the locker. It was her preferred weapon taking full advantage of her strangely strong body. She straps on a belt around her waist, a pistol hanging off the side. She then hangs a thread of microbombs in her hair along with wearing a small earring that was to act as a beacon should ADD actually care to look for her. The woman stretches, making sure her full body black latex suit was on nice and firm against her body. Satisfied, she takes the hammer with little strain to her body and sets a course to land on the planet.

The air was breatheable though the stench of oil and smoke was still in the air. Despite it being daytime on this side of the world, dark clouds dim much of the light trying to reach the surface. Her ship had landed a few miles south of what looked like some sort of city or fortification. On the descent downward, she saw many buildings were nothing but rubble. Whatever war this planet had with itself or another planet was no doubt it's last.

With a soft sigh, Iria pulls her hammer up behind her head, letting it rest across both her shoulders as she began to walk slowly north towards the ruins...

The quiet tranquil setting of the open ocean. Not a cloud in the sky, the only sound coming from the small waves as the water moves about. As far as the eye can see there is nothing but ocean and that is the case apart from if one was to go in a certain direction one would find a small populated island.

The peace is suddenly shattered, by a strange bubbling from the water. Some large creature perhaps? A school of fish? From the disturbance a ship emerges from the powering itself upwards out of the water. With enough force to raise it a few meters out of the water, the engines kicked in shooting the ship skywards. Inside a demonic creature once of the planet Earth, was at the controls.

Much had changed since he had stolen this ship from the ADD. He had been most fortunate. While he could have gone for a fast nimble fighter, he had instead decided to go for a relatively lumbering hulk of a freighter. This had been an excellent decision for two main reasons. Firstly the ship had excellent underwater capabilities for the resupply of ocean planets allowing him to hide the vessel near shokushu island.

Secondly the ship had been full to the brim with many valuable materials used by a huge variety of species and organisations. With one quick theft and escape he had become incredibly wealthy and a part of galactic commerce. Since the theft he had discovered several galactic trading hubs where he had been able to sell his commodities. Anti-matter, Helium-3 and thorium, were all useless to him, but were able to be sold for unbelievable amounts of currency. Some of this money he had used up grading his ship with improved weaponry, engines and sensors and he had learnt much in the way of maintenance, navigation and scientific discoveries.

Now, his ship stocked with more conventional stocks, food and medical supplies for emergencies, the job was one of exploration of his surroundings. His navigation computer had been one thing on the ship that had been state of the art, so he hadn’t bothered replacing it. This was good as it still had locations programmed into it with the old manifesto the freighter had been intended to go on. With the assumption that if the ADD where going to send a ship somewhere there must be a worth while reason, the demonic green creature, set a course for the first planet on the list.

The trip was a long and boring one, but he eventually made it placing the ship into a high orbit before moving over to the new sensor console. His upgraded sensors scanned the planet from orbit carefully displaying a readout.

77 % Nitrogen
22 % Oxygen
Trace amounts of other gases including Carbon Dioxide Argon, Neon and hydrogen

Water covers 0.7% of surface
Gravity is 0.97 of galactic standard
Low amounts of vegetation present
Artificial power sources detected

The place seemed to be a dead world with low vegetation, but a breathable atmosphere and seemingly abandoned buildings. There was one form of interest though, three power signatures on the surface. Two were from a cluster of buildings that seemed abandoned, but with the power sources still active. The other was about a mile south of the ruins and was identified as an ADD scout ship.

The creature smiled. The ADD was here, excellent this planet mush be more than just some rock. Going back to the controls he took the ship out of orbit and entered the atmosphere landing on the north side of the city, away from the scout ship, two miles from ruins. With his armour on and his shield and scimitar strapped to his back, he exited the ship, jogging south towards the ruins.

The ADD agent was far from interested in a bunch of old ruins. She did not even bother bringing a scanner. The woman was the worst student of her class when it came to computers and technology. So she will just take a look around until she thinks ADD is satisfied with this so called mission. The ruins were not much better than the rest of the planet. It was the same desolate color. Signs of battle were all about the area. Craters, smoldering ash, blast marks, bullet holes; all the signs of war. There were not much signs of life or even death for that matter. The blasts must of taken care of most of the mess and what survivors, if there were any, must have left or went into hiding. Old vehicles litter the area around the buildings or what used to be buildings. The dark clouds in the sky were no doubt from the smoke from the millions of fires that occured during these battles.

Iria could not help but regret not being able to come here sooner. A world war would definitely keep her busy and perhaps bring her a pleasant challenge of combat. But no, she is stuck with the aftermath, useless rubble. As she traveled deeper, some of the larger buildings were still intact. This was about the only thing she could explore. She was no scientist or a researcher. Perhaps there will still be some datapads left inside to give ADD some reading material. The woman approaches one of the larger buildings only to see the entrance had been blocked off by pieces of rubble.

"Tch.."

In one fluid motion, the hammer leaves her shoulder and swings out wide. Using the momentum of a 180 degree swing, her warhammer comes crashing through a large chunk of the rubble. Chunks of metal and rock flew off to the side, clearing away some of the blockade. She still had a long way to go. Iria sighs, at least she will get some exercise.

The sounds of cracking concrete and clanging metal fill the area as Iria proceeded to make an entrance the best way she knew how. Pure brute force was working rather well but it did take time. After over an hour of smashing and hacking, the woman rested herself against a wall. Her face had a light sheen of sweat on it, strands of hair sticking to her face. She pulls out a canteen of water and took a moment to rehydrate her body.

Argos had set off at a good pace as he jogged over the rubble, smelling a torrent of different smells. He had excellent stamina anyway, but with the slightly elevated oxygen levels and marginally lower gravity he was used to he felt particularly good about his running. However he realised that any ADD agent would also feel the same advantages he did. About a mile out from the ruins, the silence of the planet was interrupted by a distant banging. As he got closer he realised the sound was one of something smashing on rock or concrete.

Entering the ruined city, he reached some multistory buildings of varying designs; some were blocks while others were cylindrical watchtowers. Moving towards one of the towers, he realised the bullet holes along with the general cracks and erosion made the building ideal to climb. Extending his claws, Argos’ mighty muscles pulled himself upwards, his grip so precise he made minimal noise as he went. Elevating himself to the summit left him an excellent view of the remains of the city.

Clearly this had once been a grand city before death had fallen upon it, total destruction he had always thought of as a waste. If you defeat an enemy to destruction, who will you fight in the future. While in his time he had killed many and destroyed many cities, never had he exterminated a people. Bit clearly that had occurred here. At the top of the tower he found the powdered remains of the guard that had been assigned to it. His projectile weapon lay in a pile of what once had been bone along with a small bladed melee weapon, still in its sheath. Binoculars in there case hung on a hook of the wall

However this was not the focus of Argos’ attention. He wanted to find the location of the banging. However that noise had know stopped. Visually scanning the surroundings in the best direction he could guess, Argos saw nothing despite his keen vision. Then suddenly as small flicker of light as a piece of shiny metal reflected some of the suns rays for a moment.

Ripping the binoculars out of their case, the demonic eyes zoomed in quickly onto the location of the flash. There his gaze came across the ADD agent, water bottle on lips tasting the liquid inside, about 200 meters from him.

With patience Argos observed his quarry and regarded her spectacular body. Fate had smiled on him once again, sending him another glorious specimen in which to enjoy and play with.

Iria sets the canteen down and reaches for her hammer once more. The woman did not even look too much into the details of the planet. The air was breathable and that was all she needed to know. Her physical labor seems to have attracted no attention of any of the locals yet. Perhaps they really were all destroyed. That was mostly bad for the gun ho rookie. She had no one to fight nor anyone to help her search these bloody ruins. At least the physical work will keep her body in shape.

The woman takes full swings with her large hammer. The warhammer was about the size of her though it was mostly just the shaft topped with a heavy slightly bladed head. Other agents thought the woman crazy to use such a primitive and unwieldy weapon. But Iria seems to show no difficulty as she grips the very end of the hammer, taking wide arcing swings letting the weight and momentum come crashing into the pile of rubble. The blows sent the smaller pieces flying away from where she was working while the bigger pieces were being broken into much lighter chunks.

The ADD agent took breaks occasionally but her stamina was holding. She would not be using such a weapon if she did not have the endurance to swing it more than a couple of times. The rubble was only taking up half the entrance now after some hours of smashing. Iria lets out a sigh as she wipes some sweat from her eyes and climbs over the rest of the rubble to go inside the building. The place seemed stable enough. She notices some stairs leading up. There was some rubble and debris here and there but not a wall of it like what was outside. The woman sighs and pulls her hammer back up onto her shoulders and begins walking up the stairs, might as well start from the top.

Argos watched the agent enter the building, losing sight of her. He looked along the building to see if he could find another way in. He found none. The only windows seemed to be very small or have bars on them. He couldn’t tell whether they were meant to keep the outside world out or whatever was inside there in, but it was probably worth finding out.

He probably could break through the bars, but not without creating a fair amount of noise and stealth was defiantly the issue with this agent. From what he had seen from a distance, she appeared to be in peak physical condition and her war hammer looked like an effective if not a subtle weapon. Given its size the fact she can even pick it up, meant he probably shouldn’t underestimate her.

Vaulting over the edge of the watch tower, he turned in mid air sticking his claws into the rock. His sharp talons penetrated into the concrete a short distance, slowing his descent and allowing him to slide down the outside of the building. Reaching the ground, he immediately started running, covering the distance to the building entrance in no time. Peering inside, Argos saw the stairs that led up into the building. He could hear the faint footsteps of his prey entering the building.

As the hole that allowed her to enter wasn’t big enough for him to walk through, he instead had to lift himself over part of the boulder that had been hammered down. However he managed to do this successfully and silently approached the stairs stalking the individual ahead of him.

The small windows provided some illumination though it was not much. Iria climbs to the second floor of the building. The inside looked as bad as the outside. Alot of broken machinery was scattered around the rooms. From the scorch marks and how there was very little in the middle made it seem like someone had detonated an explosive in each of the rooms, effectively removing several possibly important computers and terminals. She blinks at the slight glimmer of light reflecting off of sections of broken wall and walks casually over to the cracks to investigate. The building seemed to be made out of stone or concrete but what was inside the walls themselves was solid metal, steel perhaps or something stronger to withstand bombardments. So this was part of a base or maybe all the cities were designed this way.

Still...it was not something worth coming back for. So the quest of time wasting continues. Iria shakes her head as she continues to search each of the rooms on the floor. They could have been offices or a sort of operation center, there was no way to tell. Though she was used to being alone, she could not help but feel a slight unease about this place. Sure it was completely wiped out but she could not help but feel like someone was here. Perhaps she was just being paranoid. The ADD agent continues upstairs to the third floor.

She was hardly impressed with anything she saw. Destroyed cities are nothing new. This building was just like others she has seen, has muiltiple floors and rooms. The woman finds several more destroyed terminals. She did not take as much time searching, quickly losing interest. There was stairs leading to the fourth floor but she only briefly walks up them and sees the similarities. Pointless, she will just continue on the first floor, perhaps there is a basement or something. The agent began backtracking back to the stairs leading down, making her way back to the first floor.

As the young agent ascended the stairs, Argos was able to get closer to her, but kept a floor difference between them as the agent didn’t exactly make detailed searches of the floors. Hearing her footsteps, Argos imagined where the agent was on the floor and was able to react accordingly. His tracking of her intrigued him.

She was clearly looking for something, but was hardly making a detailed search of the floors, which obviously weren’t in good condition. This suggested that she was very unthorough with her search or what she was looking for wasn’t some piece of technology or commodity. It was something that she could see wasn’t in the room quickly. This suggested to Argos she was actually looking for someone, rather than something.

Hearing her coming back down the steps from the fourth floor, Argos retreated to the second floor. Quickly, but silently sliding across the floor he managed to crouch and hide behind a large piece of wrecked machinery that concealed his large frame and the gleam of his shiny shield.

He watched her come down the stairs through a small gap in the machinery and got his first look at her from a manageable distance. Her figure was even more stunning close up as he briefly got a good view of her body hugging armour and war hammer. She past the floor moving down the stairs without noticing him.

As she reached the first floor where she had came from, Argos stood from his hiding position. Unfortunately for him, as he stood his shield knocked a relatively round piece of rock down the table next to him and over the edge. Time seemed to slow down as he watched the rock fall, too far away to do anything about. Closing his eyes, he cursed his foolishness and waited. The rock couldn’t have fallen on a worse place hitting a sheet of metal that resonated like a cymbal through the building.

“So much for the stealth approach” he complained softly to himself

More cities on the planet. More building in each city with more floors that each had even more rooms. No, Iria was not in the mood to be thorough. The longer she spends on this god forsaken rock, the less missions she can do that she can see some action. The agent stops at the bottom of the stairs as she tries to take in the first floor. It was rather open but lacked many windows making the room rather dark and difficult to see. She could clearly see the half blocked entrance still. After her eyes adjust to the available lightsource, the woman began to do her search.

~CLANG!~

Even a fighter like her jumped at the sudden loud sound that came from above her. The solid walls made the sound echo and seem even louder. She could feel her heart pounding against her chest. She could almost swear her latex body suit was throbbing with her as her body was shocked by the sound. Iria lets out a soft 'tch' as she shakes her head. Could be a rat or something. Getting all hopped up about a rat, the thought seemed rather stupid to her. But, it was a rather loud sound. The agent turns around and began to walk up the stairs, her hammer still over both her shoulders.

The woman's footsteps became much lighter. Each step she lets just the side of her boots come to rest on the hard floor, softening her steps as she moves up stairs. Iria turns around the corner, looking in the direction of where she thought the sound resonated from.

After a few seconds of silence, Argos hears the footsteps approaching. Well this wasn’t the way he had intended to reveal himself, but there wasn’t much point in standing around. This way he at least could find out what the agent was looking for.

The situation really called for the use of his invisibility power caused by his bracelet, but some of his recent experiences told him that he had began to rely on that particular power and his other skills had suffered for it. He had wanted to prove to himself that this wasn’t the case, but perhaps the predicament he had got himself in was evidence to the contrary

Stepping out into the centre of the room, he turned and waited. In a neutral stance, his hands side by side and his sword and shield still on his back he waited, his armour shining over his torso and his muscular arms bullging. Standing in the low direct light from one of the windows, not trying to remain hidden at all.

And so she came to him, coming around the corner face to face about 12 meters from one another, the two figures looked at each other.

"Well, it really was a rat afterall..." Iria mumbles.

What she saw did shock her though she did not show much reaction. She was an ADD agent who fights aliens afterall. The shock was more of a 'how the hell did I miss this in my search' type of shock. The 'man' if she could call it that was huge. Nearly eight feet tall, this monsterous humanoid was quite a sight to see. Large muscular tail matches the green muscles that covered this being's body. Her eyes catch the glint of his black armor. Was this one of the planet's inhabitants. Must be and a soldier at that. With muscles like those it was no surprise that the cities ended up like this if this was just a regular soldier.

The large ogre was not trying to hide nor run. In fact it seemed to be waiting for the agent. Did it make the sound on purpose? How long was it on this floor? Her senses must have dulled from the long travel in space, how annoying. Seeing this creature in peak physical condition, she really wanted to test to see if those muscles weren't just for looks. But, she really had work to do and needed to get off this rock as quickly as possible. But at the same time, if this beast was looking for a fight, she would be all too happy to fulfill that wish.

The woman gazes at the beast. Being a good distance away, Iria did not have to look up too much to look the ogre in the eyes. Her body remained in a rather casual stance. The heavy hammer rested easily on her shoulders as she stands there. Her large breasts heave with each breath, the latex of her suit looking ready to tear as it remains tight around her lean muscular body.

"You don't happen to know what happened here now do you?" She asks nonchalantly.

Argos heard her quiet insult, but did not react to it. He simply watched her approach until she asked her question. More and more she came into the light so he could marvel and analysis her more and more. All the time he studied her body, both for the battle and what he would do to her afterwards. Her armour was thin and body hugging, showing off her amazing figure. Protection was unknown, but it seemed to be rather unrestricting giving her good flexibility and speed.

This was all apart from the over sized shoulder pads that she sported. The addition seemed strange, because it would restrict her raising her arms properly. With her war hammer weapon, this would seem to eliminate an overhead blow, a manoeuvre he would have thought to be the most effective given her choice of weapon. He watched her chest rise and fall with her breath, with pleasure and briefly thought of the fun he would be having with her breasts soon.

“Funny, I was going to ask you the same question” he replied “Why are you here?”

The question being returned to her only answered a few of her own. The large humanoid was not from around here it seems. Though it could be just a deception but Iria had no interest in delving so far into a topic that did not matter at this time. The agent could see the beast's eyes take in her figure. An expected thing when one was an ADD agent, odd how they only take the attractive woman. She held back a smirk as he lingers over her breasts for a moment. Tch, typical male no matter the species.

"Since you don't know," Iria replies, "Knowing why I am here is irrelevant and I will be on my way. No doubt you have more shadows to go hide in and I have no interest in being on this planet any longer."

The woman did not hide her boredom. She hated this mission and hated the fact she was assigned to it as a punishment. Sometimes she thought the ADD were being too careful, too soft. Iria kept her eyes at the large ogre. Caution was still needed. A mistake could really hurt telling from the size of this things muscles.

Argos didn’t take too kindly to his questions not being answered. It was one of his many personal grievances. He had been fairly polite and had not got the response that he had desired or felt that he deserved.

He sniggered softly. “Perhaps, I did not make myself clear, little one. Either you tell me what you are looking for or you will be not leaving this planet anytime soon” he threatened

His stance didn’t change, but his muscles prepared his body to arm and shield himself if necessary depending upon her response. The room was completely silent as he stared at her waiting for her response.

The threat made Iria stop for a moment. Her mind was racing but not for a proper response to answer the monster. She never took kindly to threats from anyone. The ogre was up for a fight, something the aggressive agent never refuses at anytime. But, she did need to find a way to end this quickly. The guy was huge compared to her. Her strength was beyond normal but she was not sure how it would match blow to blow with this beast. In order to manuever and make full use of her hammer, she will need to pick a better spot than a dimly lit room filled with debris.

The woman was unsure how much this beast knew about the area. Was there any other ways in to this building she did not know about? Or did he follow her through the entrance she made for herself? It was a tight fit for such a big creature no doubt. If that was the only entrance, that would be a spot she would have the best chance to end the fight in an instant. Or at the very least, kill his intent to pursue.

Iria does not change her stance though her hand grips her hammer tighter in anticipation. Her heart was beating harder as her adrenaline began to pump. She could use sometime to relieve some stress. Calmly, the woman steps onto the stairs and began to walk down them. Once out of sight, she will make a sprint down the rest of the way and towards the buildings blocked entrance.
