Post Question about the past.
I'm not sure if it is just my mind playing tricks on me, but was this site open before 2007 and running?

I can remember having an account and starting a role play a few years back before I was forced to stop. I would have written this off as it just being me if I don't faintly remember some names and the like.

Forgive me if this is the wrong place to add, just wish to place this nagging in my mind to rest.

If I'm not wrong. Is the information from that time lost or moved?

Yes. I, for one, started playing here in 2005. (I just checked my records on that fact...) And it had been around for some years before then.

Back in 2007 the administrators migrated the board to a new bulletin board system, because the older one was less reliable. I don't know if the data from that time is still available; we'll have to hear from Stormbringer on that one...

Post Thankful.
Oh thank you very much for the insight. I can remember something about the site moving or something of the like before I left. It would be helpful if I can go back to the old one or look through the stored data.

I wish to find my old user name, my role plays, and have some fun reading through them. Seeing if I've gotten better or worse since then.

Does Stormbringer look through these threads or would I have to PM them myself?

I check certain forums and PM's of course.

I'm afraid that no previous boards still exist. I'm not even sure how many times we have switched over the years but it's probably about three or four. There's always those sites that attempt to archive the whole internet but I'm not sure how useful they would be with pages generated froma database.

As to how long SHS has existed, well interestingly enough I found out that our tenth anniversary is only a month away, on December 20. Now we just need ten thick candles, and ten students to be tied upside down and act as candle holders, and we can have a party!

Ten years? Longest lived tentacle fetish site ever? At least in English?

Asao reporting for candle holding duty! There's got to be a way we could make a thread out of that...

"I volunteer for candle duty too", Bala chimes in. And having thought this through, she's ready with the coup-de-grace. "And if we don't get enough girls, I can hold two candles. I have two hands after all."

Bala smiled. She had just earned brownie points with the Headmaster for very little effort. I mean, she had held two candles in a vigil for a couple hours. She certainly could hold two for the preliminaries and singing of "Happy Birthday". Yes, her status in this school was going up.

Still, that upside down thing didn't make much sense. It did remind her of something. "We don't have to wear skirts to this, do we? I mean our skirts would just flip up - gravity and all. Oh, and make sure the candles have those guards. I don't want to get any hot wax on my hands." Hopefully, she hadn't lost brownie points for that last line.

It would be an honor to hold a candle for such an event! I volunteer as well.

Thank you, Asao. I seem to have regained my creative spirit now that the nor'easter has passed (after four days :(). I seem to be more creative when I get some sun. :D

And, OOC, congrats to the folks here for 10 years. That's almost half a lifetime!

@Pia: I too am proud of the Book Club's turnout for this auspicious event. An 83% volunteer rate among the PC members is outstanding. I also note that, for the moment, ours is the only club that has come forward.

@Saarria: Welcome back. And thanks for asking your question. The answer was most enlightening.

Post More then I expected.
Ten years. All I can say is wow. Most sites such as these don't last ten months. Thank you for the answer to my question and the added extra that seems to be of help to others.

Now I have a topic to make about this and a profile to make for me.

I'm so happy to be back.

Hmmm, seems I was able to say more then wow, doesn't it?

Now I am curious.. Apart from Stormbringer (obviously) are there any original members still around?
