The creature had vanished by the time she recovered enough to get off the table and stagger to her feet. As before, she couldn't tell whether he'd actually left or was just lurking somewhere while trying to give her a false sense of security, so she remained alert for any sound, any sign of his presence as she went to gather up her surviving clothes. Not that it was likely she'd be able to do anything if he was going to attack her again, but getting attacked unaware would be even worse.

Given his threats earlier, she'd have to warn Pia, Ryu, and the twins that he might be after them once she had the chance. Especially Pia; he'd seemed to be threatening her lovers more than her… intimate… friends. That would have to wait until later, though; right now, if she was able to get out of here safely, she barely had the strength to get back to her room and collapse into bed. Putting on her clothes, she headed for the door and, she hoped, at least a temporary return to freedom.
