Post Re: Blue Shrine (for Ryu)
Few decisions troubled the fiery vixen more than hearing him willingly intruding upon the personal domain of their enemy, but he appeared to have a feasible plan at his disposal and seemingly welcomed the opportunity to perform one of the undoubtedly greater pranks in his entire lifetime. "We have." She acknowledged their arrangement and cast him a mild albeit warm smile. "Be careful, you hear me? Don't head over there yourself unless you absolutely have to."

Whether truthful in their discussions regarding water supplies, Whitney most certainly provided ample opportunities for distraction, but now that he adressed the matter of food Flame surmised that she would have been utterly famished without the drink naughtily extracted from the loins of their charming host earlier that day by the time they set out to obtain more along the lines of proper nourishment.

Flame relished their time together although amidst her travelling companions the beautiful red head timidly regressed into a far more elegant demeanor when they had partaken of his invitation and shared both lunch and dinner. Sadly the two of them weren't alone to bask in their presence under the fabricated night sky looming over the town delightfully, but not even that abated her desire to indulge herself in their company and the lovely lady promptly began filling them in on their earlier exploits where neither of the other two elementalists had tasted freedom, reenacting the tale of the demons they valiantly struck down amongst whatever sprung to her mostly suppressed mind, naturally leaving out delicate details including the magical barrier she could not pass.

Whitney arranged for their meals which they received free of charge and Flame thanked him in earnest each and every time. Sex wasn't meant to be used for currency and while sampling the tempting scholar earlier, the young sorceress certainly hadn't behaved inappropriately at the time or implied that he was getting more than plain and simple gratitude although it did bring up another concern.

She lacked funds for the future. Nicodemus had provided for her within the prison, Roc enabled them to sleep in warm beds and have comparably great meals. Whitney delivered their sustenance with unmatched hospitality. Sooner or later she would have to consider what to do with her life, but for the moment it was far too challenging not to enjoy herself in the presence of three more or less familiar friends despite what atrocities one of them committed did in the past.

During their approach toward Renee's establishment her attention fell on Typhoon, briefly mulling over the matter though she thought it best not to alter their plans too much straight away in hopes of averting suspicion. "It might be best if we settled on that later. Abdul spoke to me about detecting invisibility through either Incantation or Divination and I'm not sure how well versed Renee is in either subject matter, let alone how alarmed his imprisonment has made her."

Flame refrained from consuming any alcohol once they entered and stuck to water or tea in hopes of keeping up appearances, maybe sugary liquid delights depending on how vast the local selection had been, whatever kept her mind crystal clear and aware of her surroundings in preparation for their undertaking later that night.

“Of course I won't, not unless I have to. Hopeful I can stay invisible and open a 'door' or two.” Spencer had hoped hat this was the case after all. He certainly had no wish to be a martyr though being a prankster had been in his blood and this called to him.

Fortunately for her sake their was a Fae in the know that she was traveling with otherwise lunch and dinner would have been unbearable. It was an easy matter for the Faerie Dragon to be missed given his ability to go invisible at will and natural talents for hiding. It was easy for his to summon up the cushions, easier for him to make them invisible shortly afterward.

It made getting through matters a bit easier.

Though at the bar she was on their own, the fact that they would be splitting up made it a bit easier to conceal. There was nothing suspicious about what she said, a warning about the Divination a likely and common foil had Typhoon nod in an agreement.

Inside there were few patrons given how close they were to closing. A stair case ascending to a second level was guarded by a large Half Orc who had been staring a her as she entered, perhaps imagining all the things he'd do to her.

There was a door to the back kitchen area another two for the rest rooms and a fourth leading down to the basement. The few patrons here seemed to be human with the occasional Half Orc in the mix. The human males made hidden glances, the Half Orcs were far more open about such. All but one man sitting at a table himself clad in dark purple clothing, a scimitar at his side, some sort of mercenary perhaps who paid the pair little attention as they entered (For Spencer was invisible already).

“The key is upstairs, the portal though -”

“Could be either upstairs or down, it's none of these four,”
Typhoon whispered in return though it could be in the kitchen, he couldn't rule that out ...

Post Re: Blue Shrine (for Ryu)
It soothed the mind to know matters were dealt with a certain caution to keep them on track, but beyond offering up concern the enchanting woman had little else to offer and left the remainder of their undertaking up to Spencer.

She had hoped that the town wouldn't have denizens akin to the likes of Half Orcs, but that pleasure had been denied when they entered the bar and found themselves with the few shadowy figures who remained here not long before closing down for the night. It wasn't much of a relief that they kept staring at her either, least of all the sturdy one positioned near the staircase who undoubtedly functioned as some sort of guard.

Flame had been adequately accustomed to immodest glances which the few remaining patrons laid down upon the ravishing sorceress, raw temptation in the flesh venturing further into the premises with the mildest natural sway to her hips, subconsciously drawing the wanton males in with her hidden performance. She scanned the establishment contently, observing the common reaction of swiftly averting their eyes when the nubile young woman happened to cross them, at least the human males whereby any Half Orc had felt less inclined to hide their lecherous way of thinking though the luscious red head seemingly dismissed them with indifference rather than trying to confront them, not that her graceful stature would be perceived of as a threat.

In spite of wearing the most conspicuous attire of them all, the armed man harnessed the least of her attention which he returned in kind, presumably here to do little more than enjoy his evening before heading elsewhere. Judging by the scimitar at his side he probably didn't plan on staying in the City Within the City for too long or had been hired by one of the inhabitants.

"Well, that leaves three more areas to explore." Flame referred to the obvious conclusion they all had to have at that point in time. "Is there anything preventing us from checking the kitchen? I don't see any guards or magical barriers which are visible to the naked eye and it wouldn't take long for Spencer to rule out at least one of the possible places to look into."

With Renee most likely busy in the basement and the upper floor guarded their diminutive companion could check for any locked doors or potentially retrieve the key before they fell any decision on what to do next considering that they were fairly limited in their exploration capabilities here. She thought of distracting the Half Orc although that may arouse the attention of more than just him along the way.

“There's a problem with that though,” Typhoon whispered a response. He was getting no magical auras here save for one, the patron in purple … his scimitar had been enchanted but there didn't seem to be anything else.

“It's not warded or anything but Spencer can't detect the portals.”

There was a derisive snort from the Faerie Dragon. “I could see if there are any other doors back there. It no then we can rule it out. The key is upstairs and Renee downstairs I think. Funny thing about people they move around.”

“That man in the purple has an enchanted sword, but there are no other spell effects or magic up here. I think I can check the basement without any fuss.”

“I count four Half Orcs, probably all but one being guards. That one their with the humans has different scars denoting a different clan though two other have marks consistent to the guy at the stairs and that just can't be a coincidence. Shall we do a little exploring or do you think we would be better coming back after hours?”

Interestingly enough three Half Orcs potentially belonged to the same clan which Flame had missed on the grounds of lacking knowledge on their sociology, but thankfully her travelling companions cleared that up to avoid any further confusion. It seemed likely that they had been hired by Renee altogether, especially considering that the specimen near the staircase shared their affiliation to one particular group.

It would be foolish to attempt anything beyond what the two proposed and the young sorceress preferred not to meddle with the lecherous males seeing how in hindsight that might not be an incredibly prudent idea. "We should get everything we can look into checked out right now. At the very least we'll know where not to look next time. It might not save us much time in the long run, but we'll save time nonetheless should the kitchen happen to have no doors whatsoever."

She paused briefly, observing the premises once again. "Is there any way to deduce in what way his weapon has been enchanted? I want to make sure that nothing in his possession might harm Abdul in case they're working together." Nearby the man had an enchanted sword, but without deeper insight for what purpose the weapon had been forged they may very well have chanced upon coincidence here, not that he could hope to threaten her gigantic tower of an Efreeti father whose powers eliminated a great many vile creatures in the memory they extracted from Typhoon earlier. On that note Flame concluded her thoughs on the matter. "We'll come back after hours once we've taken care of that."

Post Re: Blue Shrine (for Ryu)
“I can get around fine -”

“But can't detect the portal from any old magical door. For all we know you might be detecting a magical trap.”
It wasn't too hard to figure out though neither of his companions bought up the fact that he did not seem to cast any magic. Yet could read auras. With her memory impaired he figured that Flame didn't think of it and magic being common amongst the Fae that Spencer didn't think much about the ability.

It was as simple as making the ability permanent. Some did other things like permanently detecting invisible things. Typhoon had use once of seeing what was magical and hence more valuable as well as discerning magical taps that could hinder him.

With but a glance he could tell if something had a magical aura. By concentrating he cold tell what sort of aura and the strength of that hour. If he handled an item for about ten minutes he could figure out what it was.

“Yeah, if I handle it otherwise we'll have to guess based off what information I Divine from it …” He concentrated looking at the sword, feigning interest in the event he was noticed for he had to stare at the object to learn what it did …

“It's Invocation magic, a common school of magic for enchanted blades. Moderate strength. Best guess? It's either a blade of spell storing where one can store one spell to given to the wielder until discharged, it this case of moderate strength or more likely it is just an enchanted blade of moderate strength that can cut bit sharper than similar weapons.”

“Some creatures can't be harmed by normal weapons or heal so fast that it hardly seems worth it … Werewolves for instance. Magical weapons hurt them as do normal silver ones.”

“Any way, I won't be able to tell what that weapon is without handling it for a few minutes so I can only give my best guess on the information I have on hand.”

Looking about Typhoon attempted to access the kitchen before a Half Orc ave him a bit of fuss. Someone had to get that door open for Spencer. By the time they left they were able to compare notes.

There wee three Half Orc mercenaries and the man in purple was a foreigner passing through and did not seem to factor into matters any. There was no other doors out of the kitchen save for that one and a window leading out to an alley. It made finding the portal easier. After close though everyone in the bar save for those Half Orcs and Renee left.

“Alright, looks like we're doing this now.”

Post Re: Blue Shrine (for Ryu)
"I suppose he won't be much of a problem, then. You have my thanks." Due to their ample responses Flame had been adequately satisfied in that regard and dropped the peculiar man in purple from her list of foremost concerns, not with disappointment in mind, but genuine relief. It was little more than an educated guess on their behalf which lifted that burden off her shoulders, but due to their mutual undertakings thus far the young sorceress didn't refrain from trusting her companions in consideration of these words of wisdom. Her father had to be protected from harm and the unknown man lacked any lethal means of disposing an Efreeti hence she ceased to worry about any intervention from him.

But with matters concluded the three of them returned in the depths of night and it wouldn't have taken much to perceive of her agitated heartbeat, not with the knowledge that they had to maneuver themselves around four potentially quite attentive individuals and upon getting caught they would bask in an immeasurable degree of unfavorable attention which not even Whitney could get them out of easily.

Anyone else would view them as little more than criminals exploiting their goodwill and hospitality for breaking into the household of one they thought of as loyal to their cause. Whether or not that would turn out to be true, Flame expected harsh repercussions. It certainly was for the better since they had to be more careful if they ever sought to return here in their lifetime.

Observing the premises and glancing inside allowed them to deduce that three Half Orcs and Renee herself resided within. Now Flame spoke up before they had to remain silent indefinitely. "Any idea on how we're going to sneak past all of them?"

Invisibility, most likely, although getting things jumbled the lovely red haired maiden had to ponder on the efficiency of their plan for a moment or two. Roc had draped the spell over her before and she never truly grasped the technicalities of his handiwork. Did the effect last throughout whichever time frame the caster desired? Were they bound by proximity? After all they lacked the Earth Elementalist this time around. "I must apologize for my ignorance in that regard, but does invisibility really stretch far enough to cover us all once we've split up?"

She suggested covering the basement by herself before they concluded their thoughts on the matter. In truth the athletic beauty had been extremely nimble when compared to Typhoon and generally figured that two people alone would leave the lower portion of the establishment awfully cramped depending on how well equipped Renee's laboratory had been, both impeding their progress and any potential escape in case of detection.

Post Re: Blue Shrine (for Ryu)
“The are four types of invisibility really.” Typhoon began.

“Here we go … finish up this century please.”

“Oh, ha ha Spencer. There is one that blanks all targets in a ten foo radius but if something stays more than ten feet from the source they become visible. Usually the source is a mobile one. There's Improve Invisibility. It doesn't last too long but you can use it without concentrating on maintaining it thus you can strike and still stay invisible for instance though anything leaving from you becomes visible, shooting a bow or casting a spell with a ray-like effect for instance.

“Last is normal invisibly which can last for a while though since you have to maintain it even on a subconscious level it dissolves once you will it to end or strike out a something. Pretty much when you focus too much on something else.”

“Er that's only three.”

“So you can count that high. I'm just teasing. The last I a natural state as possessed by Faerie Dragons and all specie of Sprites … Brownies, Pixies, Nixies … it functions like Improved Invisibility with no duration. They have to actually will themselves to be visible.

“It is like, yes, save for attacks originating from use stay invisible until they strike a target so while someone might be attacked by a tiny arrow they won't see it until it materializes in them or whatever else it strikes. It can be quite, nasty ...”

They discussed matters and it seemed that the consensus was Invisibility. Typhoon could open the back door natural with lock picks or magically and would do it magically which was quieter. He would do so and let Spencer in but he wished to delay their entrance for just a bit.

Spencer studied the two as if curious about something. Flame wished to go it alone and while he himself hesitated Typhoon assured him it was alright and Spencer left them A quick Divination ensured there was no one invisible creature hanging around.

“Very well. I could scry with my Arcane Eye enchantment but that could be detected, I don't know how versed Renee is in magic and since I do not know I wish to accompany you or at least scout ahead and serve as your eyes. I can see the magical portal after all and if there's a problem then I'll be close on hand. If it is big we can split up and search for the for the portal. We can't go waltzing in their killing them for no reason after all but if you really want to go it alone I can serve as a look out.”

Post Re: Blue Shrine (for Ryu)
It proved rather amusing to observe the two and their casually administered doses of mischief and teasing although Flame tended to learn more in the process of their explanations. Vital knowledge intertwined with the heat of the moment provided her with everything for tonight and any other occasion which helped her wavering resolute stance to establish itself once again.

"I wouldn't kill them, Typhoon. I know where we are and for once I'm sure that we're the villains by breaking into Renee's residence. I'd prefer keeping our low profile for as long as possible." She never meant to arouse suspicion. Capable of summoning the Flame Serpent she could hold her own ground easily enough and while they had to refrain from burning the place and everyone within down, the young red head most certainly lacked little more than her memories and not the slightest ounce of talent.

Her desire to proceed into the basement alone had been based around the idea that Spencer might potentially require protection and Flame secretly hoped that their diminutive companion would think of something in order to lure the Water Elementalist away from her side. Naturally their cunning scheme entailed that finding the portal would allow Typhoon to study their gateway to Nod which meant that the lovely young woman had to chance upon the magical entrance to another Shadow without him lest he might have looked into the matter beforehand without their knowledge. It would make the nubile sorceress look like a liar to proclaim only Humans and Efreeti could pass through and unless the two of them elaborated on their hidden intent nothing would change that.

It was unknown to her when and where Spencer decided to pave the road for their undertaking which allowed them to split up, freeing Abdul and tampering with the Forgotten Four at the same time, but she trusted that he wouldn't disappoint and decided to play along for the time being. "In the unlikely event that Spencer could use your help I'd rather you remain here with roughly the same distance between the two of us. I never planned on excluding you completely, but without either key or portal we're equally screwed."

Flame smiled softly at that, excited although not too frightened to embark. "I'd be delighted to have you serve as my lookout. I wouldn't want to march in there blind and with someone watching my back I'll feel a great deal safer, even if my support comes from a distance."

“I know,” her opposite smiled at her. “A few Half Orc mercenaries are no challenge and it's pretty easy to let tempers flare seeing how Renee, for whatever reason, has detained Abdul. I wouldn't say that we're villain's, the ends justify the means … well, I no longer subscribe to the more extreme of that view point but a minor crime such as B&E to undue a major one, in this case kidnap for being detained against your will falls within that category.

"True we could get the law but if Renee is strong enough to capture Abdul she's probably got the juice to kill most ordinary folks making it necessary for us to step in. Of course, the law will side with Renee on this matter regardless … even if we can prove her guilt we are still in the wrong for doing this. Ah, it's a lot tougher being a hero for a change. The old me, well, I'd approach this a bit differently.

“Summon up the rats to scout, use my minions and shape shifting spells to get inside, probably kill those that got in my way of obtaining my objective then getting the task done, whatever was necessary …”
He shook his head a that as if in admonishment for doing just that.

Of course it was not totally suspicious as he believed the whole memory thing must have had Flame still rattled and hence why he had volunteered to stay behind. “Very well," a quick incantation and he was able to climb the sheer surface of the wall of the building adjacent to them.

He used another to leap from roof top to roof top until he was far enough away to see the front and rear entrances, it was her show now and her time to begin, With the door already being opened and Spencer already inside there was no one immediately in this room which had opened up into a storage area though here seemed to be no correspondence to the doors inside. There was the kitchen, the restrooms and basement. This seemed to enter into a store room of food stuffs and liquor. Near the back wall Spencer hovered, waiting for her.

“Seems that this is a store room for the employees, an outside access but no door inside except this area here conceals one. I searched and searched because it was so odd. My guess is it opens into the kitchen. I doubt there's anyone there, we saw the cooks leave but are you ready?”
When she was he turned invisible again.

“Ladies first.” Of course if he made a habit of going around and opening doors that might come across as suspicious and alert others that he was there. Habit he supposed since he was no coward but how could he perform an invisible rescue if they were looking for someone who was invisible? Spencer had to grin at that thought … look for ...

Post Re: Blue Shrine (for Ryu)
Flame would have had a hard time forgetting about the events which transpired in the fabricated nightmare scenario derived straight from a fragment of his memory, knowing what he used to be and what he'd done to another unfortunate traveller like the young sorceress currently by his side, but Abdul blessed her with the knowledge that these vivid images would soon fade from her mind, potentially in the coming days although every time crimson eyes laid themselves unto him that moment in time appeared farther and farther from the present. It remained to be seen how they commenced from this point onward, but for the time being she dismissed the abomination which she'd seen in his place.

"We don't know the rest of the story yet. I trust Abdul wouldn't commit himself to evil, but his imprisonment could mean anything." She frowned mildly at that, unwilling to believe that would ever be the case. "But I believe you're right in regards to undoing a major crime with a lesser one. Assuming that he might have broken the law himself, surely Renee would have alarmed several people in town if not all of them should she feel justified in her actions, but she didn't do that either."

But with his position as lookout established and the two of them splitting up Flame ventured onward into hazardous territory. Fortunately preparations had been completed beforehand and her entrance proved rather easygoing as the stealthy vixen came slinking through the opened door and regarded their newfound environment with distinct wariness although the presence of her diminutive companion indicated that they were relatively safe here.

It was little more than storage. Flame pondered on where they found themselves in the overall structure of the building before Spencer went on to explain how the hidden storage compartment merged itself with the kitchen, but considering how he concluded his search earlier without any further doors therein they might not be able to return through the same path unless they resorted to leaving the passage open for the remainder of their uninvited stay.

"Well done, Spencer." She patted him on the head with a certain tenderness, keeping her voice low and nearly allowing herself to become lightheaded from trepidation alone with her bated breath on the verge of exposing her fear, but with a final push of self confidence Flame nodded in acknowledgement.

Cautiously advancing into the next room they had to get their bearings on the premises. Feminine digits delicately cling to the door which had been slightly ajar, scanning the chamber for any unusual sound or entity before sneaking inside completely.

Post Re: Blue Shrine (for Ryu)
She was probably thinking along the right lines with the imprisonment. If Abdul did wrong then that information was likely to be plastered all about but the matter was somewhat secretive and she had only learned of it through a dream …

Typhoon took his position and she entered the dim storage area. There was moonlight streaming in displaying how remarkable the City within a City was seeing that their was an illusionary sky that shifted between night and day.

The storage area was dimly lit and Spencer sucked up that praise. The door was probably two way he confirmed for the convenience of the staff of the bar. He just hadn't detected it from the other side though on this one since it didn't make sense so he kept searching and searching until he discovered something.

A brick in the wall could be depressed inward swinging the door open. Beyond was the kitchen, the only light here was what they let in and Spence guided her. In dim light he saw far better then a human though the Fae could not see in the dark. Dwarfs could though …

The kitchen door lead hem into the dark bar. There were the restroom doors, the one leading to the basement and stairs leading up but from up there there was the amber glow of a lamp.

“The key is upstairs in he bedroom,”
he confirmed to her. “And the portal is probably in the basement. It seems that there is someone upstairs not that that should deter me from getting that key.”

Post Re: Blue Shrine (for Ryu)
Flame never questioned how viable such an entrance may be in the grand scheme of things. It provided them with another way inside which had been all that mattered in the long run and nobody currently resided within neither storage nor kitchen, leaving the establishment almost completely devoid of life by the time the two of them emerged from one darkness and ventured straight into another. She promptly discovered the distant light source from their vantage point on the ground floor and halted in anticipation of movement, but apparantly the source had been set up in one place or the carrier merely stopped at the same time.

Somebody was awake even now, but the crimson haired sorceress felit little more than her growing excitement pique once again before gradually calming down, the two intruders unnoticed as of this moment in time. She turned toward Spencer in consideration of their respective tasks. "I trust you'll be retrieving the key while I explore the basement? Will you manage that on your own?"

It was dark, extremely gloomy to the point where his presence alone prevented that prominent fear from breaching the surface of her being once again. "Lights on woman, you see .." Flame recalled him whispering into her mind when she and Roc ventured through the Dark Woods side by side without another soul anywhere to be seen. Perhaps she was testing the Fae as to whether or not he remembered as well, but in the end that mattered little, they had come here for something else.

"Would you kindly check for any magical auras in our immediate vicinity one last time before we split up? I'd rather not run into any surprises." She shook her head, radiant locks of shiny scarlet hair framing her charming features once his female companion had gathered her senses and presented herself ready to embark. "We better get on with it, then. Be careful up there and focus solely on getting that key. No fun and games tonight."

Potentially an incredibly pointless warning in regards to his serious attitude when people needed or demanded common decency of him, but here they could not be alarmed enough, even with him turning invisible. He could virtually do anything while hidden from sight and might give into temptation, fooling around with Renee who may or may not be the individual upstairs, or worse even he could be looking straight down into her cleavage which, albeit concealed, never failed to entice in her naturally prominent endowment and subconsciously compelled Flame to wrap an arm around herself as though a cold shudder ran down her spine which she sought to counter in that way.

Unless the Faerie Dragon spoke of anything else Flame set out for the basement through the darkened area, allowing her eyes to get used to the lack of light inside the bar while carefully avoiding any upturned chairs and tables along the way.

“Hm … right ...” Of course he had been looking. He was Fae after all and it was an easy thing for him to detect aura even if he was unable to analyze much more than the school of magic to which they belonged and the strength of the aura. Unlike many he had not mastered the fine arts of analyzing magical items. He just never had a real need and never bothered to learn.

He scanned for magic. “One, Evocation,” which was the school for most of their destructive spells though magical light fit that school which he pointed out to set her mind at ease.

“The light source. It's weak, either by spell or a magical item. Let the record stand Renee could still be there. Light gives off a weak aura regardless of the strength of who casts it. It just isn't a strong spell with much oomph ...”

He guides her through the dark. “Of course, Half Orcs can see in the dark half as well as their parents so either she's there or going to be there soon enough or expected there,” he surmised. “Either way I'll be fine.”

Warned not to indulge in any fun Spencer had proved that he was rather unusual thus far as he had his moments where he could be serious for a bit. “Never mind ha. I know our objective here and, well, you're the only one that can pay me for my future work at the library. You or Whitney I suppose … good luck.”

He left her then and fluttered onward to his goal.

The basement was thankfully illuminated with a soft green light. Stairs descended he and here were three doors at the bottom. Two to her left and one straight ahead. To the first door on her left she could hear speaking, people.

Snippets of words … a female speaker and two male voices it sounded. “Abdul”, “lesson”, “decades”, “Efreeti”, these were some of the words she could pick out. All the doors ere iron and rather though to listen at though this is what she managed to strain and hear... nothing from the two other doors though ...

Post Re: Blue Shrine (for Ryu)
"Evocation .." Either through spell or magical item, but that didn't mean Renee nor any of her houseguests lacked prowess in the destructive school of magic even though he clarified on the light source upstairs. Underestimating the usurpers of Abdul might potentially be their undoing and they couldn't afford to mess up considering where they found themselves at the time. "Avoid Half Orcs who can see in the dark .. Got it." She smiled mildly at the implication of payment, her feminine touch finally abandoning the Fae upon being led inside as far as they could go together, nodding in acknowledgement. "Good luck to you as well, Spencer."

Alone and veiled in the dark her steady pace maneuvered the foxy intruder through the deserted bar, swiftly honing in on her desired target though shielded from any ounce of moonlight didn't make her chosen route the most appealing.

It was to be expected that her nyctophobia would strike, the shadows themselves toying with her anxious mind and filling the daring woman with irrational fear with every taken step further into the unknown. Nothing truly ever helped in that regard hence Flame resorted to pushing through towards the tender sheen at the end of the tunnel, the sensation quite familiar to her by now although that didn't dilute the inherent feeling of dread.

Breathe in, breathe out, these commands relentlessly pulsed in the back of her mind while silently inhaling mildly reassuring lungfuls of air which heaved and lowered the bulk of the buxom maiden's confined bosom, delicately straining the cloth which bowed to her ample breasts and continuously reshaped itself around their marvellous swell without hindering her ability to calm both her sanity and physical strain for venturing through the darkness in hostile environment most assuredly put the otherwise lawful red head under an abundance of pressure. It was a true blessing to find the basement illuminated to a certain extent upon reaching the bottom of the stairs, but the light source also ensured any further darkness would require her eyesight to adapt once more.

A tension induced albeit exhilarating shudder raced through her when voices breached the dead silence of the establishment, the sound of oxygen flooding her lungs the most prominent thus far and given the three doors nearby it seemed only logical to surmise that the speakers held their discussion beyond one of them.

Flame tuned into their conversation upon chancing across the right one and discerned little more than brackets which would have made more sense with a deeper understanding of the subject matter they discussed. But three distinct voices, two male and one feminine, presumably Renee, that much the nubile sorceress grasped and inhaled sharply after processing the notion of her father, cursing her inability to comprehend more than snippets and the resulting impasse in preventing their devious scheming.

"What now?" She glanced toward the other two viable pathways composed of iron doors like the one before her now. It had been foolish to intrude upon the unknown trio and Flame ventured onward in hopes of coming across another option, perhaps even finding the portal herself. No sound originated from either of them which forced her to choose, wondering what might lie beyond although she couldn't afford to hesitate and proceeded to leave the two to her left behind, heading straight to the end of the corridor. Sheepishly her hand fingered the door for a handle or similar device, the odds being fifty percent of possibly stumbling into the right chamber unless the portal to Nod resided in the occupied room.
