Post Re: Blue Shrine (for Ryu)
“I could say the same about you.” He smiled as he remained within her basking in the feel of those tight muscles as that sap continued to dissolve and had eventually been gone completely by the time he decided to slip out of her.

He got a little distance form her. Enough so that he could bend down using his tongue over the lacerations there before drawing away. Maneuvering her so that she was now facing her he brought his mouth down to a tit letting his tongue swirl about a nipple before he sucked on it briefly as he rubbed her clit in an up and down motion.

They were probably pushing their luck if they had not been heard already not that that seemed to matter much as he regarded her warmly before rescinding his touch.

The tip of his finger emitted a glow and he touched a nipple infusing her with a modest level of healing that erased all the little wounds left in place, whether cuts or scratches. Another spell freshened her up a bit and erased the dirt that smudged her brow when her forehead collided with the tree. And with a snap of his fingers they were dressed once more.

“Regretfully we are pressed for time though there are still a few details that need to be hammered out. The chief of which is who you will try to get the Enchantment spells from to erase memory and who is best suited to assist you with that in regards to what we possess.”

Nicodemus rested a hand on her hip rubbing it affectionately as he spoke wishing to maintain some form of intimate contact while he could.

Post Re: Blue Shrine (for Ryu)
Healed and cleansed, Flame suddenly found herself dressed once more as the two of them separated from their loving embrace. She had long since relinquished her hold on the trunk as he maneuvered her around, happily basking in the faint remnants of that blessed afterglow.

Flame wondered whether his seed would take or not, once again reminded that their odds of impregnation diminished by comparison to any ordinary Human in existence thanks to the explanation Abdul had offered his daughter in the past. It might take a few more tries than today and their former attempts although the latter may have been fruitless regardless considering that his powers had yet to be fully restored at the time. She looked forward to trying again despite never having given birth as much as confirming his success in that regard, to cherish the gift of life her fabricated body had been able to give unto any potential offspring.

Any uncertainties of their future dwindled before the thought of finally finding a sliver of true happiness in a world which began as little more than a hopeless place ever since awakening on Carrion and that fateful day appeared to come closer and closer. She smiled at the blessed thought of marriage as his touch flowed against her form and calmly rested her weight against his admirable stature, mulling his plans over in the back of her head.

"Whom should I approach for assistance when nearly everyone has powers I'm unaware of? If you want me to be discrete, I have those that I trust to keep quiet even if they don't know where to look for what you seek, but surely not everyone will respond in that manner." Whether Gale had that favorable trait or Typhoon possessed such abilities had been beyond Flame and while asking Abdul might be feasible, she doubted that he had the power to erase memories himself. Spencer wasn't around and probably lacked anything beyond his featherfall effect whereas Roc simply didn't have that particular power.

She learned of this back in their exploits with regards to Willow. They had a theory with her enchanted arrows, but little more than an implied chance of success by the female Fae who also met up with a Necromancer while they spied on her.

"I suppose either Roc or Typhoon would be the best match considering that ever since Murk approached me and Gale, I doubt she'd be too happy to rely on my help if it is ever needed." Regardless of whom Flame selected, they'd probably have to find another third party to assist them unless they discovered something they were previously unaware of.

Undoubtedly they'd soon have to return to the others, a thought which infused her with a generous handful of reality considering that near the apex of their joining, restraint had been almost completely neglected on their part. If somehow none of them heard the couple, it had to be some kind of miracle. Two rounds with Nicodemus typically fell short in quenching the profound longing for his touch, but any more and their passion fuelled actions would have been given away by a somewhat worn out Flame even if his magical talents infused the red head with a boost to her waning endurance, so they might still have a shot of returning with their modesty intact.

Nicodemus considered how the women viewed or likely viewed one another. “Your best choice would have been Spencer. Pixies know a create deal about magic that can make you forget or at least their boyers that enchant their arrows do.”

He rubbed his chin as he considered the matter before them. Roc was probably deficient in such magic but he had the advantage of being with Flame in part within the realm of the Fae settlement too so he may have been a better choice than Typhoon for that reason though the later may possess a greater capacity for learning these sorts of spells.

“Gale is that way towards everyone I have seen. She is a Princess of the Fae. I doubt she hates you. If she had then you would probably know by now.”
Nicodemus revealed. “Keeping things quiet … well that is another matter.

“Getting an Enchantment effects from a Fae community shouldn't be too much of a concern seeing that they are good at it but to ensure that no one dig up information about any transactions you perform you'll either have to bribe individuals or have one of their royals simply command it. The choice is yours though I trust you judgment as always.”

He had never told her what choices to make though he tried to give her all the information he had at the time so she could make an informed decision.

Post Re: Blue Shrine (for Ryu)
Time was of the essence and Flame understood that delaying them was far more vital for an ideal outcome than facing them in combat prematuraly.

In truth Flame had no sympathy for the likes of the Forgotten Four and that damned witch, but at the same time held little interest in extinguishing their lives unless they happened to lack any other option. They were meant to be stopped eventually and the sorceress knew what that entailed, but their time to strike had to be delayed in order for their strongest weapon, Nicodemus, to recover completely lest the Fallen Angel might truly fall in the field of battle whilst never accomplishing the mission he should have fulfilled over a century ago. It was right not to level an entire city for the sake of a single woman, but in the grand scheme of things many more suffered over the course of time.

"Yeah, about that .. I had to leave him with Whitney for a little while .. He'll keep an eye on a Boggle for me and join up with us later. I doubt I'd have the time to explain how I managed to get my hands on one .." She would have loved taking Spencer along for his resourcefulness whenever he happened to be struck by a moment of maturity, putting aside his jokes and whatnot, but unfortunately he happened to be busy with setting up Bryne for a surprise of sorts.

Dealing with other Fae seemed simpler with other Fae around and his expertise on the matter, relations and such, might have been a great benefit to her task. Travelling all the way back to J'zar in order to retrieve him, however, she figured that they didn't have that much time to spend.

Typhoon, on the other hand, had been more than a quick learner and a scholar. Surely he would prove ideal as a replacement considering that he suggested Roc should stay here due to his battle hardened nature, but the latter happened to be a far greater pleasure to deal with due to their recent interactions and the fact that the two of them actually spent time in the Fae settlement before.

Flame trusted Gale to be the most confident, even amongst her own people, but also the least likely to keep that particular plan to herself and that's exactly where her faith in the royal blood ended.

"If you believe you'll be fine without Roc for a while, I'll take him along on this one. We've been a pretty good team so far." Mainly for the bribes considering that Flame was not privy to his fortune and thought he turned ordinary stones into gemstones. "Otherwise I'd be happy to have Typhoon join me once more. Gale might be wiser to have around, but I'm feeling uncomfortable at the thought of having to travel alongside her by myself."

Post Re: Blue Shrine (for Ryu)
“A Boogle … clearly an interesting tale there for another time.” Nicodemus listened as she made her request for Roc. An unlikely choice he would have considered though both already knew some of the people and had traveled together.

“I would not wish for you to be uncomfortable with Gale and we have Abdul so sparing Roc is an easy matter should something unexpected arise.”

With her cleaned up and her choice selected he brought down that field that had surrounded them. Rejoining the others he voice the new matter as it stood.

“It has occurred to me that the issue of facing the Forgotten Four may be easier if we do not have to confront them at all or at worse delay them. By eradicating their memories of the Blue Shrine and their dealings with Tori we could at the very least delay them.”

“Specific memories, you want to eliminate specific ones? Pixies can do a general amnesia but to target something specific ...”

“It can be done. Flame is proof of that, Gale. She remembers how to call forth the Flame Serpent and her spells but has forgotten other details. I propose in having Flame seek out these means. In the event of an accident many of her memories are gone and she is the least likely to be affected. Of course I do not intend on sending her alone, that would be reckless.”

“Where do you intend on sending my -” a slight pause, barely noticeable by the Efreeti. “Successor?”

“Into the realm of the Fae.”

“Then am I to assume that I am to go?”
Gale sounded a bit cold as she gazed at Nicodemus.

“No. It has been decided that Roc would go, if willing of course.”

“That I am. But what exactly are we suppose to do? Find an Enchanter that may have the needed skill?”

“None exist. Not around these pars any way or I would have heard of them.”

“There is someone,”
Abdul added. “At least from the rumors that reach me. A legend of sorts.”

“Who?” Gale seemed skeptical.

Abdul answered. “Stratos.” And Nicodemus nodded.

Post Re: Blue Shrine (for Ryu)
His name struck the sorceress like a sturdy hammer cleaved a skull and had been roughly as pleasant to hear although her discontent on the matter had risen from the thought of dealing with a far more powerful entity than anything else. Stratos possessed great talents and while the thought of putting up a barrier in hopes of opposing the demon currently in full control of Lilac had stirred their interest in the Sylph, certainly he would prove even more useful in another realm.

They had been aware of his location, more or less, considering that they spotted him having breakfast in the same inn as the two happened to spend the night in and while that may seem vague, they did have the chance to see him that early in the morning unless he could be found elsewhere by asking around the settlement. The delicate issue of payment turned out to be another matter entirely and Flame had been pestered by the struggle of finding anything other what he already professed was worthy of his service.

She had the tale of the City Within the City, but after having dealt with Whitney again Flame figured that relaying any more than what the young woman had already offered up was out of the question. It left her with few altenatives given her suppressed memory and what else they sought to have in terms of support would only be provided through letting him have a thorough look at her physical makeup.

Presumably they had to choose which objective of theirs to relinquish in favor of progressing in another unless he somehow experimented in the realm of alchemy. She stole the innocence of a new born and might have a shot at another trade although such exotic chemical compounds probably counted as material goods in some way which Stratos did not accept in exchange for anything.

Flame spoke up before any further dicussion about the matter at hand would ensue. "Roc and I have encountered Stratos before, the evening after we've first returned from Sirocco, I believe. I'm sure finding him again and discerning as to whether or not he is capable of what we need can all be dealt with in a timely manner."

Crimson eyes honed in on Abdul in order to reaffirm her stance on the matter, that he need not be worried about his daughter. She was an adult, even in terms of age with regards to humans and made a choice for herself thanks to the free will she was given.

Naturally putting her suppressed memories at risk of loss had been frightening, that she might never remember more than what she did unless otherwise relayed by Abdul and other people who got to know her over the years of her existence, but Flame was willing to take the chance in hopes of delaying a great evil. It certainly was a noble goal and out of all of them, the scarlet eyed sorceress likely had the least to lose by seeking out those means they required.

“You have?” Nicodemus was surprised by this though it certainly made it far easier to track the Sylph down. “Then if there are no further objection we can leave you to it.”

Abdul nodded as did Typhoon. When eyes turned to Gale she took in a sharp breath. “Whatever.” She wasn't as versed in everything it seemed.

Roc of course accompanied her on the journey soon thereafter. The inn was the best place to start looking. Even if he was not there someone probably knew where he was heading or at least someone in the community.

“We encountered him near the Faerie Dragons and Pixies,”
Roc was thinking back to the encounter that they had. He had gotten a bad feeling about the Sylph last time though he was uncertain as to his nature.

“What sort of plan do we use? Do we just approach him and hope for the best?”
Roc considered their options here. He gazed at the human, or rather Living Construct as he searched for an answer.

Post Re: Blue Shrine (for Ryu)
Flame had been prepared to locate Stratos with an open mind and converse about what they needed next rather than dwell on past events. Any sane mind would not trust someone skimming through their mind and thoughts, but the situation demanded such sacrifices and the young sorceress fully planned on committing herself to the mission since she was the least likely to be affected in greater measures than she already was.

Alone with Roc the two of them set out for the establishment they had spent the night in and the attentive red head hardly hesitated before responding to his inquiries. "First we find him and then we conduct an exchange." It was a simple plan, admittedly, but nonetheless efficient. "I have something he wants and I intend to give it to him in exchange for his services. We might have to discuss the technicalities of the matter, but I'm sure he'll agree for what I have on offer."

She planned on using the value of her structure for something else, but getting another Priest to work for them in their attempt to free Lilac might be far simpler than finding anyone capable of performing the miracle they needed. It could be done, of course, but how many could actually induce selective memory loss, Flame did not know.

However, that was not the only sacrifice Flame was worried about and she certainly viewed letting Stratos meddle with her mind a great risk as her eyes flickered to the ground briefly, then back up to gaze concernedly at the Dwarf. "Honestly, I'm far more concerned with the procedure at hand than trying to reach an agreement we can afford. Things could go either way, you see .."

Flame remembered awakening within Carrion, unable to ascertain more than a few minor details and that alone was frightening enough. The Sylph was a complete stranger and might very well do more than they asked for, leaving many paths open as to what the alleged legend might infuse her exposed mind with once they granted him a certain measure of control over the busty red head. "Truth be told, I don't trust him, at least not entirely .. You'll keep an eye on me, won't you? If things go sour, that is."

Post Re: Blue Shrine (for Ryu)
“That sounds well … if you took it in a different light,” Roc grinned though he was not one to joke too often he did tease her a little until he realized how real her concern was. He became serious at once as he usually was.

“I can understand the concern there and no one, not Stratos or anyone else for that matter will do a thing to you in my presence without your consenting to it.”
Stratos was a mind reader and he had to consider a few means o shielding his mind. He had no such spells himself though magic was an easy thing to acquire among the Fae and such spells did exist to eradicate this problem, the most effective was probably a Mind Blank Enchantment.

It wasn't that he couldn't cast such spells just that he never had to before now and so he never bothered learning a spell he did not ever think he would use.

“I would like to look for a scroll before we meet up with him though. A spell to keep him guessing and honest so to speak if you don't mind. Normally committing a scroll into a spell book takes a number of days based on how complex it may be but seeing that I probably won't need it again a scroll or two will allow me to cast it instantaneously at the expense of the scroll.”

Scrolls were cliff notes to a spell so to speak. There were infused with a small essence of magic that was triggered when reciting from their text the magic was triggered but there were enough traces of the spell that if scribed and studied could teach an experienced spell caster how the spell was constructed. Reading a scroll caused the magic stored in it to be discharged consuming the scroll in the process.

“It should be easy enough to find one.”
Of course a Mind Blank scroll would be expensive but Roc had a fortune that he did not mind using and the expense was nothing to a man of his wealth.

Post Re: Blue Shrine (for Ryu)
In a different light Flame might have felt compelled to confine him to the privacy of their own chambers throughout the remainder of the day, but certainly had not thought ill of him for establishing that particular suggestive connection from past events the two got themselves involved in the last time they happened to be out alone. In truth she somewhat regretted bringing it up since Roc had appeared far less likely to jest than the others Flame had been with throughout their travels only to be shot down when he displayed a sliver of humor in an inopportune moment, but what was done was done.

It stressed her out more than anything. She had no clue when it came down to mental defenses and Stratos had free reign in that regard once they chose to settle down with him. Against anything physical they could fight, but should he attempt anything along the lines of insidious, Flame would be powerless.

She was thankful to find that he noticed his misstep without her having to mention anything. "I'm relieved to hear that from you .. I don't believe I'd let Stratos tinker with my mind if I didn't know I had you as backup."

Not once did Flame expect anything less out of her loyal companion and didn't attribute that boost to her confidence to their feverish lovemaking a few days back simply because they had a great time together. Instead she deemed him the single most viable choice with regards to her own protection which tended to be true in more recent times. She reluctantly entrusted him with her safety not due a lack of trust, but rather the profound wish that they didn't have to make such arrangements after having disposed of these vile demons back on Sirocco once before.

"Personally, I doubt I'd really know where to look." It just so happened that they had to obtain something else prior to seeking out the Sylph and Flame figured that any precautions on their behalf had been preferable. Once more she studied every piece of information he provided, the eager student that she was, learning of the fleeting nature of scrolls if used for the sake of instantaneous effects.

"I'm sure we have the time to peruse the local stores and such." How much exactly, Flame could not tell, but she trusted his word. Arranging for a scroll which Roc had in mind shouldn't be too difficult by the sounds of it and Flame happily tagged along if only to delay matters for a few minutes, mentally indulging in the thought of what would happen once the Sylph began. A few deep breaths flooded her body with reassurance, the bounty of her chest rising and falling with every intake of air.

Post Re: Blue Shrine (for Ryu)
“I can find scrolls easily enough. Temples are the most common and academies. There are a few that make a business out of these things. Selling one or two scrolls per year tends to be enough to maintain them all year round if they are the stronger scrolls that is. Being able to live that sort of leisurely life tends to cause one to stick out, particularly if they live it up.

“Common scrolls though of low power are cheap and easy to make. I did not mention it as it's rare to find with little time but there is a ring that protects your thoughts from being read. It's a bit more expensive and you usually commission something like that to be made. With so many Enchanters and species that can use Enchantments it is tougher to come by here seeing that it is in greater demand … essentially it protects against Enchantments too.”

They traveled to their destination and the closer they got the more concerned Roc became. Eventually though he had paused telling Flame to wait up. “We don't want to run across Stratos before we are ready for him. So we'll employ a little caution. Here is close enough.” He conjured an Earth Elemental roughly his size. Sending it off after speaking a few words to it in the Terran tongue.

Sitting on a fallen log nearby Roc waited. “If I am to protect you I am going to do this right. Don't worry this won't take long.” He waited until the Elemental returned and relayed something to him before sinking into the earth. Roc stood indicating the direction that they needed to go in and Flame soon heard voices. Musical and pleasant speaking to one another … Sylvan, the language common to Fae most likely or Elvish.

Post Re: Blue Shrine (for Ryu)
"Is it really that dangerous to make a living that way among the Fae?" It would be naive to think none of them ever grew jealous of another one's riches and it made sense to think with those selfish goals in mind, but most of them Flame encountered happened to be Pixies and Faerie Dragons which, at the core, had been far more mischievous than willing to commit serious crimes.

Gale belonged to their race to an extent and Flame figured that her type might have more of an affinity for such dastardly deeds.

Ring or scrolls, either appeared to do the job just fine which had the red haired woman nod in a gesture of acknowledgement. "Alright then. If you're willing to pay for the ring, I'll keep an eye out for anyone who sells rings." Flame smiled as radiant crimson eyes regarded the knowledgeable Dwarf in a playful glance. "If anything our chances of wrapping things up quicker might have gone up, if only marginally."

In that regard Flame was severely lacking. She intended to seek out those particular wares, but that about summed up her abilities to distinguish regular goods from any magic imbued items. In an emergency the Temple of Air resided a fair distance from their position although heading there could be a viable alternative once they were unable to find either scroll or ring within the settlement itself.

However, instead of marching straight ahead, Roc brought them to a halt and summoned a familiar face which had his travelling companion flash a sliver of realisation. "Oh, I see .." It proved helpful back on Sirocco and surely he intended to survey their destination before pressing onward. "An Earth Elemental .. I almost forgot about them. Good thinking, Roc."

Attentive ruby red gemstones observed the disappearance of their freshly conjured companion and patiently anticipated good news for the sake of their mildly discomforting undertaking. It might slow them down if Stratos resided nearby and anything they had discussed back when everyone was assembled had been the undeniable fact that time was of the essence. They were on a roll with regards to successful missions and it hardly seemed like the perfect time for that perfect streak to end.

It soon returned and must have relayed that they had been in the clear as Roc beckoned his female companion to move on. As unknown as Terran were the voices they heard the closer they came to their destination, but it proved nearly impossible to dismiss their somewhat sweet and harmonic speech.

Flame carefully intertwined her arm with his own unless he recoiled or deemed it wise not to feign such mutual affection even though a portion of her had cherished his warmth and surprisingly gentle touch in the past. They traversed these streets before, but preferably safe than sorry, the nubile young sorceress sought to ensure that everyone picked up on the fact they travelled together.

Post Re: Blue Shrine (for Ryu)
“Selling scrolls? Not really. Those that can scribe the real powerful ones have to be capable of knowing that spell and those sorts you do not easily steal from. Wealth has less meaning to a Fae. I might live a few hundred years but they, well, age will never claim them. One fortune lost today can be restored in a century or so. Most of them are humble and don't even bother with currency.

“Outsiders they know are different and they use our wealth in places where commerce occurs but among one another they perform services or trade in favors. I am told that even the lowest of the low among them cannot brake a promise that they make even at the cost of their lives and cannot ignore paying off a favor. It's as if this is encoded in them, but they do not trade in major favors lightly or give their word easily. They may not be lying but just to be certain you can always trap them into a promise though getting one to give in would be tough.”

He paused and thought about it. “Maybe not Gale … I suspect she's such a hot head she could get snared up in a promise without realizing it. Goaded but even if tricked a Fae will not brake their word. You have to be careful though … they only have to adhere to the letter of the promise and not the spirit of it so one that gets tricked might twist things out of resentment.”

Roc nodded. “Agreed. Do not worry of the price. Such things commonly cost fifty thousand gold coins. Here, where the demand is greater, I would think the cost would sit closer to seventy five but that really doesn't bother me. It is a useful item and well worth the cost.” He even considered getting two so that Stratos could not just simply take what he wanted but if that was the case he would probably have done that already.

Roc was as patient as stone but he had known when to hurry too. They had been a good pair in that sense for flame was urgent and impatient but stone too passive at times. When her patience was running low he knew it was about time to act though they had a little time to do some scouting.

“We have a little time to prepare.”

What he wanted though was to locate anyone … as soon as his summoned Elemental returned he followed the directions toward the pair of Fae that the Elemental discovered.

Of course he did not pull away. In fact he patted the back of her hand as they went forth. He did call out something in that same harmonic voice though his had been heavily accented. Perhaps it was so they did not sneak up on the pair that soon came into view.

What appeared to be Elves though only about waist high and young looking though all the Fae were. A male and female that looked toward the odd couple. Flame realized that these weren't Elves, their eyes were solid silver orbs.

“A human!” The girl went to rush forward if she was not grabbed by the arm by the … boy …

“With a Dwarf, sis. Who are you?”

Post Re: Blue Shrine (for Ryu)
"I wouldn't have thought of them that way." Services and trade among the Fae themselves was far more common than exchanges of currency based trade and Flame nodded in acknowlegdement of that fact once Roc had elaborated on the matter of promises. Spencer reminded her of the same once or twice although she might have a hard time tricking anyone personally thanks to her lack of malicious intent yet for Gale she might make an exception if they ever needed something from her.

In any case, they had more than enough money on offer to purchase what they needed and possibly a small range of wares and services in case they encountered one who desired such matters more than wealth alone.

She stayed close once tolerated or welcomed beside him and slightly intensified that mildly comforting embrace, fully encapsulating his arm in her grasp once Flame received his wordless approval.

Roc would constantly be reminded of her irresistable natural blessings thanks to their height difference, the fervent warmth of her rich bosom molding itself around his arm with every passing moment Flame sought to remain nearby. The very presence of her hardly dismissible charms barely ceased to impress since throughout their travels he'd have that curvy flank shifting enticingly with every subtle yet natural sway which had been conjured by her ample hips on the outskirts of his peripheral vision, never to be forgotten.

But of course they did not have time to think of such stimulating affairs once Roc responded to the harmonic speech wafting through the air like honey on their senses only for the two of them to stumble upon another duo, possibly children or teens although Flame would have had a hard time distinguishing a grown female Pixie from a young Elven counterpart.

Flame observed herself and that Satyr back in the day when she and Spencer looked into the matter of the possessed Dryad and instinctively deduced from the experience something along those lines might happen again, but thankfully that wasn't the case. Whether out of mere fear or respect they had for the venerable Dwarf by her side, something compelled the male Fae to hold back his enthusiastic sister.

It was surprising to find one of them rush forward at the sight of a human, whether curious or hostile she could not tell straight away and flinched mildly at the sudden influx of warmth to her cheeks, mildly flustered at their reaction to their presence.

They happened to be siblings, brother and sister, that much the voluptuous sorceress gathered thus far although trying to read their faces for any hint as to what these two thought proved far more challenging than one might assume, especially with playful Pixies, or Elves .. or whatever they were.

In all honesty, Flame summed them up as extraordinarily endearing like one treasured a child with lively spirit although they obtained a more or less undiluted sense of sexuality fairly early in their lifetime, sweet and lovely people who happened to be rather short with an affinity for magic and the profound commitment to the blessed carnal realm.

She had hoped to grasp their countless species in due time although part of her figured such an extreme understanding of their race wasn't exactly required for the moment at hand.

"We're just two lonesome travellers." Weaving lies might not be one of her strong suits, but Roc had done the same once when they took on the appearance of Goblins and Flame concluded that it might be best not to wave their true names around like banners. Of course she would refrain from speaking if he did first for he was the one to initiate contact with these two and she'd rather not flush bright red straight away should they have seen through their scheme. "I'm Eria and to my left you can see my Dwarven associate."

Post Re: Blue Shrine (for Ryu)
Roc smiled briefly. He was knowledgeable to an extent at least about the Fae though Typhoon easily exceeded his book smarts as Roc learned what he needed to know and just a smattering of this and that so as not to be ignorant of common things.

The Dwarfs and Fae had an odd history. The two were not enemies but both tended to think in opposites … the Dwarfs mined and coveted wealth, the Fae where whimsical about wealth and saw the needless destruction of nature an affront. The two live apart. The Dwarfs preferred their halls beneath the mountains and most Fae live in forests far away from civilization. A forest set on a mountain was the closest they would get to one another and the Fae lived above ground and the Dwarfs below.

“Oh, they are complex though fortunately they have adapted to other customs and not all wealth is less valuable. Art work, beauty in the form of jewelry … coin though is just to common. And each species is slightly different. A Leprechaun finds more value in a bottle of old spirits, a Brownie may faun over shoes or boots … musical instruments to the Grig and Atomies … Nereids with shawls … each is a bit different and yet each has the same sort of vulnerabilities …

“Cold wrought iron … weapons forged in such a manner are down right deadly to them. A scratch as good as a deep cut. And if you noticed the last time we were at the inn … no salt … there is salt in the Kingdom obviously but seeing that a Fae is compulsed to count salt you won't see it lying around any where. I'm sure you would have gotten salt if you asked for it though we would probably been asked to dine in a separate area.”

He delighted in that closeness forever reminded by her attractiveness. The best part was that since he had to look up at her he couldn't be accused of staring at her breasts! He always had to see them though he was not a leech it was one of the perks to being shorter even if marginally so it gave him the prefect excuse.

The sister was gazing at Flame's feet barely held back by her brother. She would notice a pair of gossamer wings on the “boy” as he moved a little. She briefly looked at Roc's feet too then back to Flame's.

“You are too kind … I am little more than a bodyguard … a bodyguard with benefits,”
Roc added, after all these were Fae and they would think nothing about sex or this closeness that he and Flame had. “But this is rather fortunate. My Mistress is seeking a bit of help obtaining something, isn't that right, Mistress.”

The “girl” broke free from her brother's grasp and came closer circling around the pair as she skipped. Flame would see that she did not have wings herself though it looked as if the two were otherwise the same species.

“Is that so? What do you seek?”

The “boy” sighed at his sister though he watched on for now less concerned given that the Dwarf could have already struck his sister down if he had been so inclined. “Let me guess … is it bigger than a bread box?”
