Post Re: Dedication (for Minerva)
Jason turned out to be just as determined as Minerva, if not even more so. He quickly ordered the Argo to advance into the gap between the Crushing Rocks. Initially the water was calm as if everything was going to perfect well, but the amazon knew better. As almost on cue the walls began to shake and as a quake overtook the area. Sea began to boil, as the rocks began close on the ship. The redhead attempted to help the rowers as tried to pick up speed. However it was not going to be enough as the rocks were closing to quickly for the Argo to get away.

Still Minerva attempted to row as quickly as she could, hoping that one more row, one more pull, would be enough for them to get away. Jason on the other had ripped of his talisman and threw in the ocean in disgust, angry that his journey would end here. However, as soon as the talisman hit the water, the sea began to boil around it. Something huge, a giant, emerged from the waters. The redheaded amazon didn't know who it was, but she simply watched in awe as the giant held the Clashing Rocks at bay. It was only with his help that the Argo managed to make it escape.

Post Re: Dedication (for Minerva)
The Argo made it through and once it had the giant vanished, the seas calmed and land could be spotted in the distance. Drifted wood from the other vessel could be seen here. The ship sailed onward and as it had Minevra heard the exchange of words between Jason and one of his fellow Argonauts that resulted in the pair drawing weapons, their steel clashing against one another as they drifted through the shattered remains of the foreign vessel.

Apparently, from her briefly catching a few things the man was a plant meant to ensure that Jason never reach his goal. With the worst behind them it seemed all too likely that Jason would obtain the Golden Fleece, though giving it more thought it would have been best for him to severe in the capacity of assassin or sabateur rather than confront Jason openly.

He was good, nearly besting Jason but was forced overboard disappearing beneath the waves. He was presumed dead when he did not surface, drowned, though the ship only pressed on a short way before Jason dove over board, there was a survivor of the other vessel that Jason sought to save, she was amongst the drift wood floating among the ocean.

Post Re: Dedication (for Minerva)
Minerva took a moment to rest, exhausted from the race the Argonauts had managed to escape the Crushing Rocks. She barely noticed that the ship had been sailing through the remains of another ship that was unfortunately didn't make it through. So it caught the red headed amazon completely by surprise when she heard the sounds of battle nearby. She looked up to see Jason and one of her fellow sailors in a duel to the death. The young woman moved to defend her leader, but was stopped by her fellow Argonauts. This was a duel, and she was not going to be allowed to interrupt it. As the duel continued, the Argonaut revealed he was hear to make sure that Jason never did fond the Golden Fleece striking when Jason appeared to be most likely to succeed.

The man was highly skilled, so much so that the amazon wasn't sure she could take him. However, as good as he was Jason, despite a few close calls, was better. Eventually the leader of the Argonauts managed to drive of the would-be assassin into the water. The man didn't appear to be able to swim and he quickly disappeared beneath the waves. It was then that something seemed to get Jason's attention, he immediately dove into the water. As Minerva and her fellow Greeks made up to the side of the Argo, it became clear that Jason was trying to save a soul survivor of the previous ship, a woman it appeared. The red head decided that he needed help and rapidly jumped in to help him out.

Post Re: Dedication (for Minerva)
The woman wasn't the only survivor, there were two others, and later as she came to she explained that she was Medea and that their Gods held the Clashing Rocks at bay until now. She was a dancer in one of the temple on Clhloris and when the Argo finally reached that land she and the survivors were escorted to the courts of the king, King Aeëtes.

Apparently, one the way Minevra hears why the sword fight began between Accautus and Jason, both differing on their approach to the kingdom before them and how to deal with the siituation since it was unlikely that the people would just give up the fleece that brought them peace and posperity for generations.

But once their the king invited them to a feast seeing that they came in peace, Medea performing a bit of entertainment by dancing for her temple at the feast.

Post Re: Dedication (for Minerva)
Minerva followed Jason to the feast that King Aeëtes had set up for them. Having had rescued Medea had turned out to be a blessing as the Argonauts could then meet the king on good terms and hopefully have an easier time finding the fleece. It was only been a day ago that the young amazon had learned that the fight between Accautus and Jason had been how to deal with this kingdom. The kingdom had believed that the fleece had brought them peace and wealth, so they would be unlikely that the kingdom would give it up without a fight. Still this would be the best way to learn about the king and his kingdom and find out about the fleece without violence.

Post Re: Dedication (for Minerva)
Speaking along with her fellow Argonauts and some of the locals all seemed to be jovial enough. Jason, she saw, was primarily with the king though an hour or so into matters the music stopped abruptly as the king stood, leaving his glance at Jason.

"You have come to steal the Fleece!" He accused as guards strode into the chamber seeming from nowhere to join those already present.

The Argonauts, having brought no weapons with them to the feast, were quickly subdued as Aacustus walked out into view from behind one of the pillars, the man who obviously tipped off the king.

The group was lead away to a large chamber, a gated door serving as the only means in and out of the room that they were hustled inside. The door locked behind them leaving them in there to mull things over for a bit before the gate was opened once more.

The guards, drugged by their wine, had been passed out, Medea the culprit in releasing them from the cell. She would tell Jason where he could find the fleece but at the cost of taking her with him when he departed from this place, something he agreed to.

Then he turned to Argo one of the Argonauts to lead the men back to the ship who bore his name. To get ready to depart while he selected both Thesus and Minevra to accompany him to retrieve the fleece, Medea serving as their guide ...

Post Re: Dedication (for Minerva)
The feast seemed to going well, and Minerva was able to chat with several of the locals. They seemed to be fairly friendly and were will chat about most things except the fleece. The amazon tried to find out as much as she could about there culture, but they were pretty tight lipped about there treasures easily brushing aside the red head subtle inquires. She had that a bit frustrating, but she could not being to ask more direct questions but she knew that would cause problems.

Suddenly there was a shout from the king about they were trying to steel the feast, the young amazon spun around as guards surrounded her. She had no weapons in which to resist the guards. It was then that that Accustus, the man that Jason had driven over the side of the Argo, appeared in the room. The amazon was certain he had drowned, but the man had survived and had warned the king of Jason's plans. Now, the Argonauts were prisoners of king and were led away to a large cell below the pallace.

Minerva was disappointed that she and the rest of the Argonauts had been caught, with the fleece being so close she was sure she would have able to find her way out of this reality. Now she was trapped, her fate even within this reality was in the hands of king who now viewed her as an enemy. At least there was Thesus here with her and the other Argonauts.

It was then the gate to the room opened. Minerva expected to see guards arrive to take Jason away, but was surprised to find it was the dancer Medea. She mentioned that she wanted to escape this place with the other Argonauts if she showed him where the fleece was. Jason rapidly agreed and ordered most of the Argonauts to prepare the ship to make there escape. Thesus and Minerva were to follow the Medea and Jason as they retrieve the fleece. The amazon took a step outside the chamber to find that the guards have all passed out, victims of Medea's drugged wine. The amazon took their weapons and distributing them to Jason and Thesus. She took a sword and a shield for herself as she prepared for the final part of this journey.

Post Re: Dedication (for Minerva)
The Argonauts separated from them as Medea escorted the now armed trio through passages beneath the castle then outward from a secret passage. The ground here had been maintained though it was rocky and showed no outward sign of upkeep.

They traveled on by cliffs for about 10 minutes or so until they came to a plateue, on which was a gnarled old tree, a golden ram's skin draped over the lower branches, a human corpse on the ground near the tree - Accaustus!

Not too far away from the tree was a large cave mouth, all here was silent though the darkened sky was being to lighten as night gave way to dawn ...

Post Re: Dedication (for Minerva)
Minerva continued to move with the Jason, Madea, and Thesus as they made their way out of the castle through a secret passage. The amazon helped where she could as they traveled through the rocky terrain. If this fleece was important to this kingdom, they sure made it hard to find it. This route was completely unkept and very rocky, anyone that would follow who have as equally a hard time traveling through this terrain as they have. It didn't make sense to the red head but they continued working they way among the cliffs until they came to a plateau.

On the the plateau was a old tree with a golden skin draped over the lower branches. It was the fleece! The object they were looking for! Still there was a human corpse on the ground, the corpse of the man who had just recently betrayed them. Minerva instantly ready her weapons, something had killed the man, and recently too. It probably was still around, waiting for the right time to strike.

Post Re: Dedication (for Minerva)
"Accaustus!" Thesus exclaimed.

The mythology was already changed, she and Thesus were not the two Argonauts Jason selected to go with him but here they were. From the cave they could see many eyes, red glowing eyes light up, but they had been prepared for something to happen and they were not dissappointed.

A large multiheaded serpent slithered out of the cave, gazing at the group before them. The hydra! It was different then the legendary one that Hercules had battled with Iolous, different land and all. At least this one did not regenerate cut off heads but nonetheless it was still dangerous as they found as it drew near, snapping it's jaw down at them, heads poised in every direction as it watched each in turn.

Medea fell, fainted away at the sheer sight of this thing, but it seemed to ignore her prone body for now. Either it no longer saw her as a threat or it was the fact that she was unarmed and didn't pose an immediate threat to it had been the assessment that the hydra used in ignoring her since she could do no harm back to it.

Post Re: Dedication (for Minerva)
Minerva immediately moved to defend herself as she saw many red glowing eyes light up in a nearby cave. She watched as first one head of a serpent popped out, then another head, then another, and a another. Soon it became clear that this was all from one creature, it was the hydra. The hydra that defended the fleece, and now it was here to protect that golden item from the three Argonauts.

Madea immediately passed out at its sight, she was simply too scared to deal with it. Despite being an easy target, the hydra seemed to ignore the helpless dancer, more interested in the armed prey in front of it. Each of its heads snapped at the Greek warriors doing what they could to drive them off. The red headed amazon for her part was fighting defensively, keeping her shield between her and the hydra. She needed to figure out some way to corner the beast so they could slay it. Minerva did what she could to try to force the creature back.

Relentlessly the hydra slithered forward as mouths snapped at them and drove them back. It did not seem to fear their spears as they were jabbed at it either, it simply kept coming though it could only follow one of them, not all three despite it's many heads.

It slithered closer to Jason, who had been on the defensive for a while now like the others but switched up, going on the attack himself. He rushed forward, shield out in front of him to ward off the jaws of one ot the heads, arm cocked back to thrust his spear at it when there was a large boom like a thunder clap.

The thing used it's tail to make a whipping motin to get around Jason's shield, hit him and fling him back, unconscious. But rather than pouncing on the unconscious man instead turning it's attention to Thesus and slithering towards him.

"Minevra, take the fleece and run!" He shouted, as he feinted at the creature to grab it's continued attention.

Minerva raced over and grabbed the golden fleece and began to run. The amazon had hoped to lure the hydra away from the rest of them as so far they hydra seemed to ignore people once they were no longer to able to fight. It had ignored Madea when she fainted and it ignored Jason when he was knocked unconscious. If she was able to run away, the mythical creature may just come after her instead of dealing with the remaining Argonaut. Then Thesus would be able to drag Jason and Madea to safety. All Minerva would have to do would to stay one step ahead of it.

As she grabbed the fleece several of the hydra's heads whirled in her direction. They focused on her, it turned and slithered after her, while she had not been a threat to him at this stage she did up end the thing that it was guarding had been taken.

She found that it's legless body was incredibly quick closing the gap that she managed to form rather quickly were it was rather obvious that she could not out run it seeing now that it was a mere 30' behind her.

Post Re: Dedication (for Minerva)
Minerva noticed that as soon as she grabbed the fleece, the hydra's heads turned towards to her. In an instant the creature took off at her even as she had run with the fleece. The amazon cursed the creature quickness, it was faster than her even though it had no legs. Minerva reckoned that the creature couldn't be too far behind her and she would have to deal with it. Minerva moved to a position where she would have to defend herself from one direction as she readied her sword and shield to defend herself against the hydra.
