Post subject: | Deep blue (for Ishtar) |
It was a cloudy day, Nina cast her gaze over the rolling hills then glanced back at Ishtar. Now Ishtar realized that her friend perished in the last dream that she had so obviously this had to be a different one. "Milly and Lyn were saying that it was rather easy, though they didn't keep it around long they said it smelled fishy and was all disgusting looking so they lost the stomach for it and dismissed it but an imp is stronger then it they were saying. "We should try it sometime, calling up a Deep One. Say," and here Nina changed the topic abruptly, "have you heard about the abductions, three of them so far I hope they get that creep responsible." |

Ishtar was confused first at she could feel the cool breeze hit her face. A cloud had passed that over her and her companion on the hill. It had apparently had just been after school as both Ishtar and her friend were still in their school uniforms...her old school uniform. Ishtar looked over at her friend and was shocked to realize it was Nina. The blue haired student was confused on what was going on as she last saw Nina in that incident where her and Linda time traveled. Was she doing it again? Still she listened to what Nina had to say about the abductions. Abductions, what abductions? I guess I have been too busy studying to read about the news lately. What happened? |

"So far three girls went missing. They use to live fairly close to the school but all of a sudden they just stopped going to school. When the police investigated the matter they found that their families were gone too, the houses were neat and tidy other than one word scrawled into the living room wall, Chthulu I think it was, the same as the ancient god too. I dunno, the whole matter seems rather weird though. I have no idea what's going on but I theorize that a cult of some sort may be behind it, or more likely the families are in one and are leaving somehere but leaving the same message behind to baffle and spook others, it may be a clue to others in the cult as to where they're running off to, weird." |

That is weird. I could not manage any cult living in the area. Everybody seems so normal, I can not see anyone being in cult like that. Ishtar took a moment to clear up her thoughts. Still it seems odd that they would leave all there stuff like that. I cannot imagine picking up my life and moving off without any warning. Must have been really important for them to take off so quickly. I think something fishy is going on. |

"It sure seems it." Nina agreed then cast a glance out towards the rolling hills before looking back at Ishtar. "It doesn't add up. All there belongings are still there, and while some cults don't stress material things everyone around here, save for the exeption of that pervert Harold, seems normal enough. "But I wonder if we can get any answers from a Deep One, the servants of Chuthulu might know what's going on and Milly did mention that they were easy enough to control and dismiss." |

Yeah I know. Ishtar thought about telling Nina about catching Harold near the girls locker room after gym class the other day, but decided that was important right now. I can not believe anyone would willing to leave their belongings behind. Do you think that really can get answers from a Deep One, has Milly actually summoned one before? |

"I'm not sure if the Deep One would know the plans of the master but it might know something at least, standing orders and what not. Milly has conjured one before and was claiming that she and Lyn did it with no problem. They didn't keep it imprisoned for long and dismissed it or rather Crystal did I think. "I was thinking that we might get some answers to what's going on if we conjure one up, and even if it knows nothing we can then assume that this is a mortal thing, a cult or some such. Do you want to try to call one? Do you think we could manage or should we get Milly to help us out?" |

Ah I see, well if you think we can summon one and dismiss it easily enough, I am sure we two without any help. Do you have Milly notes on how she did it? If you don't we will probably need Milly help just to be sure. Ishtar stood up as if they had finally figured out there plan and was moving ahead. |

"I haven't got here notes but her place is on the way home so I'll stop by to get them or her if she's not busy. I'll met back up with you at the usual place, say at four?" The usual place? Nina must have meant the old abandoned boat house that they used from time to time, of course it was later destroyed thanks to Dagon but that was neither here nor there but this matter seemed to be before that incident. True to her word she showed up at the boat house at 4, a tome of notes in her hand as she approached. "'Mildred' her mother says to me, has been grounded and can't come out to play, apparently she was late getting home the other day when they summoned up their Deep One but I got the next best thing, her notes." |

Ishtar waited at the old abandoned boat house, it was sometimes a bit creepy for the blue haired student to be there. For her though it was only when she was alone did she feel that way, when Nina or Milly or anybody else was there with the young woman she felt more at ease. So it was a bit of relief to see Nina arrive. Well its too bad that Milly can not join us, but if we have her notes....well, I guess we can continue with out her. How do we start? |

"By forming a transmutation circle on the ground and placing a bowl of water within it apparently you can transform it easily enough to open the doorway between our dimensions and then we can lure one out through the recitation of a few phrases, which have no power against the stronger entities and thus we need not worry about drawing them to us." |

Ishtar nodded her head. That makes sense. So let me get the chalk and bowl of water and we will be ready to start. Do we both need to state the phrase or does only one of us have to? Ishtar walked over and poured a bowl of water. She then got a piece of chalk and returns with the items necessary to complete the ritual. |

"Only one of us needs to recite the words," Nina skimmed the notes quickly, "but we as a spectator you have a chorus part to chant, here, here and ... here." She point out the passages. "We're best to write those down for reference when we begin since I'll be reading out of the notebook for the most part." Nina seized up the chalk, thumbed through pages of the book, found a sketch and began copying it on the floor. |

Okay, I think I can do that. Ishtar pulled out a notebook and wrote down the chants as best she could. They seem to be fairly easy enough to follow. So I guess we can get started. |

The pair of them finished with the preparations and recited the words, near immediately their was the scent of spoiled fish waifing in the air, giving credence to the ease of summoning a Deep One. They went on for perhaps 10 minutes, the water in the bowl vanishing as if drained by an invisible source, then the scent of brine grew stronger and stronger until at last in a flash of bluish black light a creature appeared in the circle, a smallish creature a few inches shorter than her. It had dark green skin, webbed hands and feet and vaguely humanoid in stature. It charged forward at once, quiet hostile and menacing given that webbed fingers ended in claws and hit possessed slender neele-like teeth. It was stopped by an invisible barrier then growled at the pair as it looked out at them. |
