So, what's everyone been watching lately? On television, in theaters, wherever.

So, quick question, but I'll start first:

Mahou Shojou Madoka Magica. It's a new magical girl series by studio SHAFT. It's their first original series, and it's directed by their star director Shinbo, who made such things as Petite Cosette, Tsukuyomi: Moon Phase, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei and others.

It's... well... okay, it's a serious deconstruction of the entire genre. I want to explain what happens, but anything other than "oh, it's a magical girl anime!" is a serious spoiler. It's written by the guy who wrote Saya no Uta, if that's a hint.

Breaking Bad: This show is great! Starring the actor who played the father from Malcolm in the Middle, it's about a high school chemistry teacher who decides, after he's had enough, plus a terminal lung cancer diagnosis, that he's going to go out and just cook meth. And it's great. He's a villain. He's THE villain. But he's still a great protagonist.

Hyakka Ryouran Samurai Girls seems to be my anime/show of choice recently. Art style makes it look like an anime that's also calligraphy and it looks awesome as a result. Music is pretty good too. Oh and it has the whole story thing.

I don't watch much TV these days, but I just finished Supernatural season 5 on DVD. The last movie I saw was The Troll Hunter, a mockumentary about trolls. Rather cool, and one of few Norwegian productions I think I can recommend to others.

I haven't seen any animé for ages. The last animated full length I saw was The Secret of Kells, which I can recommend lots!

Pawn Stars. I dunno why but it's actually more interesting than I expected. That and I really enjoy watching all the interactions between the Harrisons and their customers, plus finding out all these historical facts. Very educational yet funny, a rare combination for me and hence it has my attention.

I don't really watch much on TV... Have been checking out Chrono Crusade though.

I haven't been watching much T.V. lately either (other than an episode of "House, MD" that I watched yesterday with my folks), but I have been watching a lot of shows on DVD.

Two of my favorite and most-watched are :"Burn Notice" and "Mythbusters" (which I love to watch at least as much to see a lot of shit crash, smash, and go 'boom' in really cool ways as I do for the actual myth-busting). I don't own the DVD's (yet), but I do rent 'em a lot when I manage to make it to the library, and I make sure to catch them on T.V. whenever I see that they're on.

"Stargate SG-1" is another fav. I haven't been watching it as much lately, but I still consider it among my list of favorites. The spin-off "Stargate Atlantis" wasn't bad, but I thought the original was a hell of a lot better. "Stargate Universe"...not so good.

Wish they would get back to showing Mythbusters again.

Batman Dark Knight.

According to what I saw online, there should be a new episode airing on Monday. Unfortunately for me, I'm now working on Mondays so I'll most likely end up missing it when it's on.

Oh yeah, also getting ready to watch season 3 of Burn Notice (DVD).
