Mmmm, that 'sprint' might be an interesting element in an RP, a sort of interstellar chase scene becomes possible. Anyways, before I shut the hell up and leave you alone, I have one other idea which has just occurred to me.

If that gravity nullification effect you mentioned actually modifies their mass then probably everything would work as you described. Otherwise, if their mass is anything like a normal human girl's, then they would fly very slowly indeed, even free from the pull of a gravity well. But more importantly, if that gravity nullification can be attuned to specific sources of gravity, such as their home star only but not a planet they have in mind for a destination, then they can use the gravity of a stellar body to pull themselves in a certain direction, rather like pulling themselves up a river by stones, but with impossibly long arms.

Anyway, I'm done now. Had to vent all the sudden imagination inspired by your SFA. Judging by how much thought the profile summoned up from reading it I'd say you have a very intriguing character.

LOL - as I said, I don't mind critique/feedback. I just won't always heed it :)

As for the gravity effect -- I did actually envision it as a 'mass reduction' type of effect (not that that is any more 'realistic than neutralizing gravity). But with the 'tesser' ability, I see it now as some sort of 'partial dimension shift', so that some of their mass is no longer on this plane of existence, which of course means that gravity affects them less. Probably until the majority of their mass comes from their wings.

Of course how they could survive that way -- who knows :) But it would mean that they would not be able to 'directionalize' it as you are suggesting.
