The Slaver camp was utterly destroyed, all but one of their ships was destory while the rest were mangled beyond use. Limp forms lay scattered around tents or the entry to the slave quarters. A final saurian slaver emerged scrambled out off the last standing tent, a wild look in its beady eyes as it stumbled and fell before recovering to turn. It hissed loudly and began firing randomly into the air until its energy rifle clicked and gave the indicator sound of an empty power cell. A moment later a tight net flew out, trapping the alien against a thick-boled tree and began tightening.

Nearby a distorted form dropped to the ground and ignored the aliens screams until the was a struggling gurgling followed by a wet thumping. The distortion dropped to reveal the svelte, armored form of a young humanoid female with long onyx colored dreadlocks. and a moment later there was a the sounds of frightened screams followed by the sound of tinkling metal...

Hours later....

All that anyone landing at the camp would find is scattered corpses, destroyed ships and no slaves...but little would any suspect that there were being watched.

Thump.

The thick, purple grass slides between Manos's fingers as he treads forward, carefully sniffing the air. The damp dew of the evening hangs heavy on his dusky shoulders and chest, sliding down over a powerful, flat stomach and dripping down the four thick arms that support his weight, in lieu of legs. A mane of thick, black hair trickles down his neck, as the leonine face rises. Bright eyes flick forward to the sound of a distant hum and the familiar scent of blood.

The beast slithers sideways into cover as its most distinct feature arises - a web or a shroud of interlocked hands, draped from Manos's back, carefully parting every twig and brush, breaking not a single branch or dropping a lonely leaf.

Its breath stills as it spots a slim figure among the tents.

Manos purrs in delight, crouching low, its powerful hands steadying against the earth.

Amongst the ruined tents indeed was a the slim figure of a barely clothed woman, looking nervously about her as she moved clutched what little clothing she had while pressing a hand to her mouth. She was merely bait for a trap, set by another predator that was waiting and watching to see who would come for her. More slavers, the ADD or something different. Far above in the trees, a figure barely perceptible in the evening gloom stood as still as death, the sensors of her orbiting vessel had warned her of the planet fall of another ship, a transport shuttle. Shadow had made to dismiss it but something felt different...so the concealed huntress had waited, keeping one of the girls for her trap.

The enhanced hearing granted through her Kaji mask picked up the sound of a throaty purr, but it was too short to accurately local where it had come from and the huntress knew that her new prey had arrived. Slowly moving into a crouch, the woman slowly scanned the tree line of the jungle, readying her glaive and a descent line to swiftly rappel to the ground.

Sinew rippled as Manos spotted the prey - which was lacking the faint hum of electronics, and indeed, much clothing at all. The camp is otherwise empty, ransacked and deserted. The dark-skinned beast sniffed again, but the overwhelming scent of blood clogged the air and prevented a proper track.

But there were other methods to drive out a predator besides to step in its trap.

Humming deep in its chest, Manos silently glided around the clearing in the underbrush until it brushed by the closest tent to the treeline. Then it paused; glanced around, once more to check for predators; and then slid from the edge of the forest cover under the edge of the tent, prying its edge up with enormous hands as others stole pistons that had held the fabric down.

Now within the tent, Manos stole over to the entrance, and peered at the prey woman left in the center of the clearing.

It bared its teeth, and twitched the tent flap aside as the shroud quivered, springloading its weave of arms like a chameleon's tongue.

"H-hello?" the barely clothed slave girl asked after jumping and turning in a quivering voice as she heard the slight rustling of fabric. Shadow could see that the girl had stopped dead in her tracks, while the huntress scanned for what had caught the girls attention. She resisted the urge to simply leap down and begin stalking, shredding the tents and revealing her position to her unseen foe...until she noticed one tent that seemed off from the others, the fabric near the treeline seemed...bunched. Switching vision modes, she was able to pick up the outline of something large inside the tent as it seemed ready to pounce.

Though no one would be able to see more than a blurry outline of the woman as she quickly descended to the ground, stealthily maneuvering herself to where she could watch the tent and her bait.

Manos planted its grip firmly on the ground - and then the shroud snapped out like a whip, snatching the slave girl by the back of the neck. Fingers closed around her neck, choking off a scream before it can start, and the flexible appendage starts to drag her back towards the tent, where Manos awaits with gleaming eyes.

The whole affair is terrifyingly silent.

Shadow watched with rapt fascination at the eerie scene of her prey's abduction, she could feel that tingle of anticipation as she felt the heat of the hunt lit her body on fire. She picked a multi-bladed disc free of where it hung on her belt, a quick flick of wrist extending the blades with a near silent shnick. They locked into place, the huntress threw the disc out towards the tent where her prey was hiding, guiding it with the laser sights of her mask to cut the tent support ropes, causing it to drop on whatever was hiding within before the blade returned to her hand, her laser sights long deactivated now.

The fabric of the tent seemed to fall in slow motion, though slowly a form was taking shape beneath. She prepared to launch her disc again.
