All the work the Head Girls put forth with the assistance of the school staff was all for this night. Soon the politicians back on Earth will learn just who they are dealing with and that their ADD was no match for the big picture. But sadly tonight also meant working harder than any of the past few days before.

Vera walked the halls with a cellphone to her ear as she checked each and every room in her dorm. High heeled black boots thud loudly as the woman moved quickly, running a master key through each and every lock and checking inside. The Head Girl was of course already in costume and ready to attend when done with her final checks. Unfortunately, she was not exempt from this glorious occasion and would no doubt be a feast for one of the many monsters attending.

"It will be fine, stop panicking," Vera replied calmly as she checked the roof of the dorm for students, "Yes I know those cameras are not working, you have said it five times now. They are each in separate rooms, so just use the other cameras in there and continue recording. I am sure the message will come across even if we are lacking an angle or two. Are the beacons on? Good, continue to rotate them on and off to lead the creatures towards the prom but do not activate the last one until the Headmaster gives the signal."

Sighing, she closed the cellphone and looked out from on top of the roof. She could see the students making their way towards the prom in their various costumes. Off in the distance, holigrams gave the illusion of buses arriving with male students for the girls to dance and talk to. Fools, they do not even have a clue. Not that knowing would stop the inevitable.

---

Katya had really outdone herself with the setup and decorations. The use of dark wallpaper and curtains game the gym a very dim look without being complete darkness. There was enough light to make out the people who were attending but just dark enough to shoud the room in a shadow and mystery.

Vera's dark outfit hugged tightly to her features, the front open to reveal the depths of her cleavage as straps pressed the luscious orbs together. Much like the other dark outfits attending, black was the color for this night. To add to the mood, she painted her nails black and added a faint touch of black eyeliner to add to her fair features.

The Head Girl kept to herself though as she entered the dark element areas of the prom. She kindly refused opportunities to dance with a few of the male students. Knowing the truth made things seem more obvious. She could see the glint in their eyes showing their hunger for her body. The attention brought a tingle down her spine but Vera could easily control herself. Regular students kept their distance from her. Though she was not wearing her sash, students knew her well enough and her reputation was enough to give the asian woman a wide berth as they find their own places to dance and converse.

Beyond the faint smiles and polite bows, she remained disinterested in the event. She found herself an chair to sit in. Being on her feet all day and night was beginning to wear on her and the night had only just begun. Vera was just going to rest a bit knowing soon enough she would need all the strength she could muster.

As the Head Girls and their minions sweated themselves in an effort to transform the mundane gymnasium into a gothic dungeon the staccato rapping of their hurried feet sank into the floor. Cement split and crackled imperceptibly under the onslaught, creeping toward ruin, and settled onto dank black earth suffocated by the weight of the structure above. Pressure rose, pebbles and grit squeezing against itself like muscles in spasm, constricting the webbing of masonry tunnels that clogged Shokushu’s underbelly, the infamous basement. And yet deeper, beneath the howling, tormented girls locked in their basement pens, beneath the clammy maintenance passages and the defunct shells of boilers, secreted in the overgrowth of derelict chambers still cluttered with the detritus of lab equipment and moldy files, existed the lair of a creature created in the darkness of space, birthed by the conjunction of an innocent human girl with a being alien to the very fabric of the universe. Within this subterranean haven the creature slept, unbothered by the hubbub on the surface. However, her golem, the android named Leopold, heard the infinitesimal noise and responded.

“Arise Miss.” Leopold spoke, his even voice roughened in simulated age. White and black bristles quivered along his sculpted jaw line. “Wake up Miss Saika, my Natsuki, or else you will be lethargic during tonight’s event.” Leopold analyzed the way his creator shifted in her bed. She brushed the pillow with her lowermost hand (the right one, as it happened) in furtive, annoyed strokes, then became still. Leopold waited, counting to sixty, and then cleared his throat, provoking a sudden tension in Natsuki that splintered the pattern of creases in her sheets and made her draw her knees up tight to her belly. “Awaken Miss Saika.” Leopold insisted now, and took a step toward the foot of Natsuki’s bed. At the quiet thump of his leather shoe on the floor Natsuki’s eyelids parted and he met her gaze with a bow. She grinned at him and waved her fingers.

“Good morning Leopold.” Natsuki greeted the android while sitting up, holding out a hand for the android to help her out of bed.

“Thank you Miss.” Leopold said as Natsuki pulled herself to her feet with his hand as an aid. “May I wish you a fine day yourself? Is there anything you wish of me at this moment?” Natsuki paused.

“A fine day Leopold? How politic of you. I’ve slept past morning haven’t I?”

“Er, yes Miss.” Leopold folded his arms behind his back in embarrassment as he’d been programmed to when pointing out any flaw on his creator’s part. Natsuki stifled a chuckle.

“Help me stretch won’t you Leo? After that, it would be marvelous if you would prepare me a meal. I feel like having something light and a bit sweet. Something…nearly extinct.”

“I will see what the local poachers can provide Miss. Will you require assistance dressing?”

“No, Leopold. I think I would prefer to manage on my own today. I needn’t overexert myself to impress the girls at this establishment after all.”

“As you wish.” Leopold assented, and turned to do as bidden. Natsuki adjourned to her vanity to admire herself in one of her looking glasses, considering what sort of costume would be suitable for the much vaunted school prom. The entire spectacle was being arranged with an ulterior motive, and not a terribly subtle one in Natsuki’s opinion, but it would be novel for Shokushu, and she adored novelty.

Hours later, with prom preparations complete and the gymnasium redecorated and partitioned into themed rooms, the students of Shokushu made a chattering throng as they dispersed into the venue of their choice. Eager girls stood on tiptoe to overlook the incoming crowd of apparently human guests, window shopping for their ideal date, while others retouched makeup in a serial fashion and adjusted the busts of their dresses until their breasts nearly chafed. A circuit of girls, either indecisive or particularly restless, flowed from room to room, injecting a bit of disorder into the otherwise immaculately rendered settings. In the dark elements section, where pitch black was the rule, these girls seemed particularly out of place, which might explain why they tended to move through so quickly, flying from entrance to exit like intermittent, colorful sparks.

Natsuki had anticipated the trend toward dark colors, especially, black and had fashioned garments that were predominantly white. True to character, she stood out. Her hair had been gathered high behind her head and ornately shaped with plates and combs of white gold, leaving enough loose to form three perfumed streamers which she’d entwined with crimson ribbon, arranged so that the streamers on either side trailed to her shoulders and the centermost one spilled gloriously down her bare back. Burnished serpents modeled after crested Chinese dragons adorned her chest, their individual scales linked together for flexibility. Their ferocious visages concealed Natsuki’s nipples, while their bodies coiled along the outside curves of her breasts, swooping inward to meet beneath her décolletage and hooking around one another in a braid that opened up at the navel only to cross one more time on their way around her hips, tails finally terminating together at the small of her back. Lily-pale silk extended down from the backs of dragons to their tails to sheath her, leaving back, bust, and navel open. Wires of gold streaked the silk like veins, creating the illusion that the dragons were crested. Anchored to the loop that the serpents described around her hips was a layered skirt. The innermost skirt was a rich, form fitting scarlet, slit on the left to. It opened at the bottom to display Natsuki’s feet, which were clad in high heeled black sandals bound to her ankles by dark gemstone chains. Over that was a layer of diaphanous, iridescent white gauze and on the outside was a netting of more black gemstones, extending only to mid-thigh. Despite the extravagance, the sheer mass of students allowed Natsuki to move about without attracting more than momentary attention. Her escort Leopold, decked out in nothing more than a rather old fashioned black tuxedo, actually attracted more stares from the assembly of girls, looking at once gentlemanly and roguish.

“When shall I leave you Miss?” Leopold inquired, speaking into his creator’s ear. Natsuki gave him a befuddled look. “You will find it harder to mingle if you’re on the arm of a strange professor, which I suspect I resemble.” Leopold explained.

“Oh!” Natsuki said, and leaned into her android companion affectionately. “That’s what you meant. You’re probably correct, but I want to keep you close for now. Who knows what monsters the dance floor harbors, sizing me up as prey. If you’re with me the more aggressive predators out there will assume you keeping watch over your own prize.” Natsuki squeezed Leopold’s arm and smiled winsomely, to which Leopold grimaced sternly.

“I shall keep close then, but do not forget to dismiss me if you meet somebody you find interesting.”

“Not to worry Leopold. There’s at least one girl who’ll be looking for me herself. One of my games. She’s desperately infatuated with me and I fear she’ll attempt to make me jealous, somehow.” Natsuki snickered, continuing. “Regardless, I’m looking for someone by themselves. A wallflower, you know? The shrinking violets are so enchanting.”

Vera rose to her feet after her short rest and moved to one of the few punch bowls that were throughout the room. There was nothing special in the punch but efforts were made to ensure the punch in the dark elements area was a deep crimson, the color of blood. She sipped her glass lightly as she watched students filter into the room or move on to a room that properly matched their costume.

The giddy emotions and puppy love floating about the room was making her nauseous. She blocked her empathic senses, letting forth a soft sigh of relief. Seeing girls fall head over heels in love with the first boy that winks at them was bad enough. She did not want to sense these utterly brief emotions.

Her eyes flick over to a few arrivals she recognized. Cala and Pia were of course together as they wasted little time to begin dancing close to one another. She would never claim to be jealous of such a sight. But she would like to ensure her slave knew her place after this party was said and done. The Head Girl was not about to let Pia get in the way of her progress with her little toy.

Loosening her tight grip on her glass, she heard some commotion coming from the entrance. Whispers and murmurs spread like wildfire through the small crowd as people parted to let two new arrivals pass. The students had every reason to gawk at the man and woman. The man looked to be an older professor though it was no professor she has ever seen or heard of. To claim that the woman with him was a teacher would not do her justice. The outfit was far too exotic for a mere student to come up with and the appearance gave thoughts of royalty and nobility rather than being just a mere staff member.

The initial shock passed as students moved with their dates to their tables or out onto the dance floor. Vera continued to watch the two move about the room occasionally exchanging words. The woman's attire gave a variety of mixed signals. One wanted to be close to such beauty while another gave the sense of merely looking and not touching. Shaking her head gently, she cursed herself for having such foolish thoughts. As far as she was concerned, this prom was more of a job than a party for her.

Setting her glass down, the Head Girl decided to take a walk for now. She greeted a few students that built up the courage to approach her. Vera politely refused a few offers to dance from man and woman alike. Such an occasion she would probably accept but knowing the boys were monsters and the students were asking merely due to a dare or perhaps a second motive tended to make her keep her distance from the others. She at least had the impressive decorations to occupy her time as she admired the many gothic paintings and statues that lined the large room.

“I’ve noticed something.” Leopold stated blandly. Natsuki followed the line his stare made but saw nothing of importance in the semi-darkness, only more of the same darkly garbed morass of students. She wasn’t surprised. Leopold’s senses weren’t as limited as hers, and anything he’d seen once impressed itself indelibly into his memory banks, so there was no reason for him to give more than a passing glance to most things. The two of them walked on, aimlessly roaming, but Leopold did not further elaborate.

“You’re aware that you don’t have to wait for my invitation to continue Leopold.” Natsuki spoke up and caught Leopold’s elbow to halt him, her other hand bearing down into her hip. Leopold raised his eyebrows as he turned to regard her. Natsuki slapped her hip crossly and folded her arms, at which point Leopold’s shifted his attention to a spot behind her. Idly Natsuki spun, her skirts making a sparkling whirlpool, to determine what her Leopold could have thought interesting enough to tease her with.

A violet in black swayed amidst the outskirts of the crowd. She kept her arms close, her motions reserved. She smiled as she strolled and Natsuki noted that her smile never shifted except when somebody paused to speak to her. Then her lips hooked at the corners as if pinned into place. Natsuki watched a male student approach her only to receive a few words before being left immobilized as the woman swept on, his face slack and querulous. Her presence dispersed a gaggle of freshman without even that formality. Natsuki found herself impressed.

“You see her?” Leopold asked, close to Natsuki’s ear, making his creator gasp and then glare at him. “I apologize for interrupting your thoughts.” He added. Natsuki huffed and returned to what she had been doing. Her subject had managed to evade all the clumsy conversational snares set by the various predators in the room so far, leaving her isolated enough at the moment that she let her warding smile disappear while she regarded the grim ornamentations festooning the prop walls.

“Yes, I see her. She’s exactly the sort of shy creature I was on the lookout for, though not at all a shrinking violet. She knows the men here for what they are I suspect.” Natsuki commented at last, angling herself toward her waiting companion. Leopold nodded, looking as pleased as if Natsuki had directly complimented him, which only invited an ironical glance from his mistress. “I’ve noticed her now, thanks to you Leopold, and you can act as smug as you like, but has she noticed us?”

“Naturally Miss. Your beauty is as intense as a nova.” Natsuki tittered behind her fingertips and swatted at Leopold’s suit jacket. “You kept her attention for thirteen point four-oh-one seconds, which is roughly nine seconds longer than any other attendee. Though your outfit is considerably less…restrained than you’d indicated earlier.”

“I had a change of heart.”

“Naturally. You are planning on introducing yourself?”

“Naturally.” Natsuki grinned and attached herself to Leopold’s sturdy frame. The pair of them strode toward the Asian woman’s alcove with aplomb, slicing their way through the masses effortlessly until they’d reached her. Leopold took a step forward. “If it pleases you madam…” he greeted the woman, bowing deeply, “…may I introduce to you Natsuki Saika.”

The Asian woman continued to take in the sights of the room. The artwork was impressive as expected. Unfortunately the tone was much too dark to be used in her suite. Perhaps she could ask Katya's opinion on such matters. She did not want any of the statues but perhaps a tasteful painting or two to add to her room. Of course she would have to ensure her pet does not damage them and maintains them properly.

As time passed, she was able to relax a little. She knew what was coming but the dark and formal mood of the room was gradually changing the students into character. There were still some students giggling and breaking the atmosphere but overall the gloomy feeling was setting in. This allowed the Head Girl to allow her senses to awaken again without being bombarded so much with sickening affection and swooning over boys.

The sound of classical instruments filled the room as a band of students with horns and tails began providing some entertainment and music to dance and relax to. With the dark shadows and many distractions, she was left to herself for the time being. That is until she heard footsteps approaching from behind her.

A rough voice spoke up a polite greeting and introduction. But it was not an introduction for himself but rather the woman that was with him. Vera turned to face the two to see that they were the ones dressed like guests of honor. She regarded the older man briefly before focusing more on the woman, Natsuki Saika.

"It does," she replied calmly with a soft smile, "Vera Matsumoto, pleased to meet you Ms. Saika." Vera gave the woman a respectful bow. "I do hope you are enjoying yourself here. I must say that outfit is stunning, very exotic and seems to put the rest of us to shame." The Head Girl smirked slyly to show she meant no hostility by the remark.

"I must apologize as you have me at a disadvantage," she continued, "Are you a new student or perhaps a new staff member to the island?" Or perhaps something more, she thought to herself. The Head Girl had doubts that these two were students or teachers. Natsuki was difficult to read emotion wise but at least there was flickers of an aura about the woman. The man on the other hand had nothing. She could not sense anything at all. She could have better luck trying to read the emotions of the furniture in the room than this man or whatever he was. Vera knew she was not dealing with ordinary people but monsters were guests as well and she intended to remain polite. Some monsters beyond the rape and sexual hunger can be quite pleasing for conversation afterall.
