Physical Description - Ltya's (or Shadow as she has come to be preferred to be called) most striking attributes are her vivid amber eyes when not wearing her bio-mask and her long raven black hair that hang well past her shoulders in the traditional hunters dreadlocks. While not strikingly attractive she draws more then a few gazes as she passes. She prides herself on her figure and works hard to maintain the air of allusion she uses to her advantage on and off the field. She is in short a women who knows she looks good and uses that to do her job.

Physical Description - Shadow's most striking attributes (when not wearing her mask) are her intense amber colored eyes as well as her long raven black hair that hangs well past her shoulders in the traditional Kaji hunters dreadlocks. She is most often encountered wearing her Kaji Hunter's gear, that seems to compliment her feminine appeal with the hard killing edge of the alien hunters. Her physique is one that has been honed through harsh training under Kaji hunt masters and many of her own success

Distinguishing features - Shadow has several scars and tribal markings, the most notable of which is on her right cheek, a hunter's mark that she received from a Kaji hunter after she impressed him during a hunt by killing her former master that the alien had been stalking and then preparing to defend herself against the Kaji. Her life amongst the Kaji has led to a rough existence, resulting in several injuries, though nothing too serious.

Personality - Shadow is quiet, level-headed and single minded, more interested in improving herself and her equipment than in making friends. She's good at what she does - hunting aliens and slaver scum - once she has their scent she doesn't stop until she has been stopped. While she has been taught the brutal and efficient means of killing a being by the Kaji, though her lack of sheer physical strength causes her to embrace a more fluid and graceful approach to combat, but no less deadly while also being smarter fighter by using her sense to her advantage.

She is, as most Kaji Hunters are, an honorable warrior and abides by the Kaji hunting rules accordingly.

Likes: Shadow enjoys the thrill of the hunt, feeling the the wind against her skin as she swift stalks her prey, pitting herself against her prey and proving that even though she is a human female in an alien's galaxy she is still superior.

Dislikes: Slavers, the ADD for not doing more, and the idea of being enslaved again.

Personality: Shadow, now living as Shadow, lives for the hunt and the challenges it brings to her while she has embraced the philosophy of the hunt as fully as any non-Kaji can. While she follows the winds of the hunt to lead her to prey, she mainly focuses her efforts on the alien slavers and the ones that make use of their vile services, like the ones that took her from her life years ago. She is almost single minded in her pursuit of this scum across the galaxy, but she does not do so stupidly and always ensures that she has the advantage when engaging her prey. Though she keeps very few trophies, she does still hunt in order to barter with other hunters for equipment and to maintain her supplies.

Sexuality: Shadow lives by the code of the hunt, which she was taught by the Kaji Hunters, and upon defeat demands her submission to whomever defeated her or vice versa.

Clothing: Like all hunters, she often wears a mesh bodysuit with her personal Kaji armor over it and grants her the ability to shroud herself from prying eyes as well as allowing her carry the numerous implements of the hunt. The mesh suit is highly resilient to most common forms of attack while the armor provides her with protection for the vital areas of her body. As well as a loin cloth around her waist.

Motivation: The hunt, training, and helping girls taken from Shokushu and other places like it, no matter what it takes.

Special Attributes: Shadow seems to possess an almost preternatural grace about her, something that has been hone through years of study of dancing, martial arts and the ways of the hunt. Beyond this she is a normal human female, though a much more deadly opponent for those who simply judge her by that alone.

Weapons of choice: Shadow prefers the use of her Kaji Glaive, while it is not the quality one would find in use by a higher caste hunter, it is still of far superior craftsmanship than is possible with human technology.

Fighting style: Though trained in many ways of combat by the Kaji, Shadow eventually embraced the path of the Spear and trained with a Phoenix Spear Master, adopting the Kaji Glaive as her weapon. She commonly tailors her fighting style to the need of the situation, though both are similar enough one another; While stalking prey she will use concealment to strike and neutralize them as quickly with combination of technology, wits and swift attacks. If she had directly engaged an opponent, she leads the attack with her glaive, using her training to quickly and efficiently remove a threat before moving on to the next. She always prefers the use of melee weapons over ranged attacks, though will use them if closing distance would prove too dangerous.

Capabilities: Besides having proven herself to be an excellent hunter, Shadow is a rather skilled pilot and seems to have a gift for fighting as she seemed to glide effortlessly through the battlefield while weaving her weapons in a dance of death with many of her so called enemies bodies to attest to her prowess.

Equipment:
+ Bio mask: The Bio Mask is one of the main tools used by hunters. These masks contain a variety of functions which a hunter may require during a hunt. As well as protecting the hunter's head, the mask has a sound amplifier, multiple vision modes, a tactical mode a zoom function, some diagnostic capabilities and a recording system with vocal mimicry. The mask may also include a red targeting laser, used by a hunter for accurate plasma shoulder cannon shots.

Notable modes include infra-red (heat vision) Energy (View electrical charges), UV (night vision) and a Tactical mode. When the Tactical mode is activated it overlays another vision mode and identifies objects of interest, as well as weapons, individuals and potential threats.

+ Hunters Armor: This armor offers protection where the hunter needs it the most. Light and maneuverable, it is still vulnerable to heavy strikes. Shadow wears a breastplate which does not cover her midsection. It is made of a very durable metal able to stop bullets as well being able to deflect most bladed weapons. The plating is made of several layers, resulting in better durability. Also worn are gorgets, pauldrons, spaulders, tassets and greaves as well as foot armor.

Under her armor, Shadow wears a mesh body of Kaji make (though not forged of Killith, as with her armor), she knows that her current equipment is due to her status within Kaji society and the need to prove herself worthy of being allowed to carry better equipment.

+ Wrist Gauntlet: The Wrist Gauntlet (or the Wrist Bracer or Wrist Computer) is possibly a hunter's most valuable tool. The wrist mounted console houses several features necessary to the hunt, including a weapons and function cycling mode. The commonly used functions are as follows:
- Dart Launcher: A device capable of firing a 3" dart with enough force to penetrate most standard standard body armors and still tear straight through most lifeforms flesh. They can be equipped with either a toxin (ranging from lethal to paralysis) or a shock generator. The force behind this weapon can be modified quite easily (command issued via helmet).
- Net Gun: Can propel a net with several 'anchors' at its target with enough force to knock most beings off their feet. The 'anchors' then latch into the ground and retract the net, drawing it as tight as possible around the trapped prey.
- Uplink Device: Used to hack into computers. Has several hacking programs that are each designed to hack into a linked system within 15 seconds of uplink being established. This also links to the hunters mask making it capable of changing vision modes and activating the cloaking device. The console can be used to manually target enemies with the Shoulder Cannon.
- Tracking beacon/s: Can be placed on something and it sends a signal to Shadow's helmet with updated telemetry of tagged targets. Her gauntlet contains 3 units.

+ Wrist Blades: The weapon of choice for most hunters. They are retractable, usually twin, serrated blades between six and eighteen inches in length and two to eight inches wide. These deadly weapons are sharp enough to cut through bone and are intended for use against unarmored combatants. As a last resort, they can be fired as a projectile from the wrist gauntlet.

Shadow carries a wrist gauntlet with a retractable eight inch dual blade, like most of her equipment, the blades are not forged of Killith but still of Kaji make and metal which is far more durable than most other known metals.

+ Cloaking Device: The Cloaking Device or Active Camo is a Kaji hunter's tool. It warps light around the user and projects a hologram of the wall behind it over top of the bent light, rendering the user invisible. This is used by Kaji that are hunting prey that shoot back (i.e. slavers, mercenaries, ADD Agents). Its use very common during a hunt, due to stealth being a major concern for hunters. Despite its advantages, the cloaking device is not perfect. When the user moves, there is a man-shaped "bubble" in the air and it will short-circuit when it makes contact with water. Laser sights will be refracted by the field and the extra-long wrist blades favored by some hunters are sometimes not covered by the hologram or bent light.

- Shoulder Cannon: NOTE: ONLY USED WHEN ENGAGING IN DIRECT COMBAT OR TO DISABLE TRANSPORTATION. It should be noted that using this weapon during a hunt for any other purpose but to deny a prey a means of swift escape takes away from the honor of the kill and is viewed as a black mark against the hunters honor. The shoulder cannon is a mounted and lightweight weapon capable of firing multiple long-range energy burst of charged plasma. The power of the plasma burst can be adjusted manually, ranging from a minor setting to a blast powerful enough to breach interstellar craft. The plasma projectiles are self-guiding and can easily make course corrections in order to reach their targets.

The cannon is controlled via a targeting system in the helmet, and tracks with the head movement of the hunter. It can be used with a Laser Sight to increase targeting capacity, and is fired by Shadow with either by a modified chin-controlled trigger in the helmet or by the forearm-mounted control panel.

History: Shadow (or Lyta as that was her birth name) was born on the Arisia III Mining Colony to a moderately successful mining magnate and his wife, whom where both very loving. As her parents where some of the rare few Earth born natives allowed to operate off-world, she spent much of her childhood with her sister Calista, as there were very few other human children her age on the colony and was forced to cope with loneliness when her and her sister were on the outs. Her ability to adapt would come in handy later in her life.

She was a very intelligent girl who quickly grew into a very bright young woman, excelling at everything she was given, be it dance or mathematics, her parents considered her a gift. She did not inherit the genetic quirk that allowed her sister to become a psi-talent but she would not learn of her sisters abilities until much later in life. Eventually her academic achievements and attractiveness drew the attention of the Centi Marra Academy headhunters to the Cole's door with the offer that was too good to be true: A complete four year scholarship to the prestigious school for Shadow.

A surprisingly pleasant summer day saw the young woman leave home for the school. She waved goodbye to her family, never suspecting that would be the last time she would ever see them again.

While her first couple of weeks were rather uneventful, Shadow soon started living a nightmarish existence of rape and torment at the hands of all sorts of creatures and entities. Though she never remembered the attacks afterwards, she became cold and bitter, training with the schools martial arts team while she became more distant from the rest of the students at school. This would only further alienate Lyta from the rest of the girls there.

Leaving the school and slavery

The fours years seemed to pass in a whirlwind interspersed with nightmare encounters that her mind could only vaguely hint at, so when graduation finally came she was relieved to think that is was over. That was her first mistake, she was gathered up with the other girls leaving the school to head off into 'A bright new future' and loaded onto the blockade runners bound for the Vanejin slave barges on station at the edge of the system. While fought back with the skills she had learned, she was still shackled and thrown into a cell.

She soon found herself where some of the girls taken from Centi Marra eventually found themselves. The infamous slave pins of Vanejin.

Lyta was an attractive young woman and bidding to own her was fierce, with a Varl crime lord named Soergga Meeshi Numac eventually outbidding all the others. As with all power Varl, Soergga had few qualms with the practice of slavery, already treating his newest acquisition as a "pet" (with Lyta's beauty serving him well as a sign of power and prestige to his peers.)

Usually, powerful Varl would have Dancers perform exotic and attractive (sexy) dances to please their Varl masters. No expense was spared on her training as she was the pride of the alien crime lord harem, a fact that would prove his undoing in the end.

One evening Soergga called for Lyta to join him in his private chambers for the evening, not knowing of the danger within and without. Stalking the grounds of the compound was a Kaji hunter that had chosen to make an example of Soergga and his men after they had interfered with his hunt, slaughtering his chosen prey. The silent hunter set about effienctly disposing of the crime lords security, moving ever deeper into the compound until he had reached his preys final hiding place to find the doors ajar and a pair dead guards lying on the floor. Upon entering the room, the hunter found Lyta finishing off Soergga, who had been fighting her.

After watching the conflict, the Kaji made its presence know to the lone human female who turned to face this new alien and simply readied herself to fight him as well. Lyta's display impressed the alien hunter and earned her its respect.

The Kaji hunter took the human woman with him as they left the grounds littered with the bodies of the fallen. After many conflicts, Lyta gained the respect of the hunter who reveals his name to be Lar'mekta. This relationship led to Larmekta giving the Kaji name Halkrath'var-de (meaning "shadow hunter") and Lyta being accepted as a human Kaji.

Living with the Kaji
Because she bore the mark of Lar'mekta, Lyta hunted alongside a Lar'mekta as he trained her in the way of the hunt for several years with the name "Shadow Hunter". Despite being very skilled and deadly to Kaji and most other aliens alike, she often found herself either being accepted by other hunters or seen as prey because she was a ooman (roughly translates to soft meat). Despite this though she had won the respect of the Kaji hunter enough, that she received her own armor and weapons. During this time, that she began hunting slavers more than other prey, simply collecting trophies in order to barter with other hunters for supplies and equipment as she needed such things.
