Long ago, before the birth of our own sun, there existed a predatory race of aliens who were blessed with a keen intellect, a powerful physical form, and an insatiable thirst for knowledge and power. A near perfect predator, they rose quickly to dominate their own planet. Spreading like ants over their world, they changed and molded it to suit their whims. It wasn't long after the transformation of their homeworld that their hunger for knowledge caused their eyes to drift upward. The other planets in their system drew them. What mysteries awaited them they wondered. Soon, even the secrets of interplanetary travel were laid bare to their cold, ambitious eyes and the colonization of their solar system began in earnest. As their numbers grew, so too did their speed of advancement. Breakthrough followed breakthrough as their technology grew at a dizzying pace. Entire planets were transformed by their terraforming efforts. Genetic engineering further enhanced their minds and bodies as they strove to eradicate all weakness. It was not enough. Galaxies, an entire universe, existed for them to explore and dominate if they could but get to it. Relentless, they bent their collective wills to their task.

The sun, they knew, was the key to their expansion. Controlling its boundless energy would catapult them to their next stage of evolution. As before, each breakthrough was quickly followed by another and another. Every advance was one more step towards their inevitable goal. Finally, they had their answer. Untiring, they prepared to stretch their clawed grasp into the cold darkness. But fate intervened and disaster struck the would-be overlords. In the blink of an eye, untold billions died as their civilization was wiped from existence. Almost.

Even death was not enough to overcome their boundless ambition. Refusing to be erased, the tiniest fraction of each alien survived the firestorm. A mere shadow of each individual remained and slowly coalesced into a sentient being with all the gifts of it's parent race. Slowly, over untold eons, Saur was born. Even as a disembodied spirit, time had done nothing to temper his lust for knowledge and power. Driven still, he set out to explore his galaxy, to discover the secrets that had nearly been denied to him. Countless millenia later, his eyes drifted even further still. Another galaxy awaited and he set out to cross the great starless gap that separated him from it.

As he neared his destination, a small planet on an outer system caught his attention. Surprised, he found a small blue-green planet very similar to his own (now destroyed) home planet. Intrigued by the life teeming over its surface, he set about learning about this race of aliens. At this point, his history becomes a mystery. At some point, he created a body for himself to resemble his original form. And at some point, he also developed a healthy appreciation for women. But most importantly, he heard of Shokushu and made his way there...

Name: Saur
Race/Type: Reptilian
Appearance:
Standing slightly over 6 feet tall, Saur appears to be a muscular humanoid reptile. While he moves with reptilian grace, his bearing is basically the same as a human's. The main difference is the long tail that extends from his lower back before tapering to a round tip. Roughly 6 feet long, it serves as a great aid to his balance and is fully prehensile. His body is covered in small, supple black scales that fade to a deep green across his chest and stomach where the scales are visibly larger and thicker. The green stripe continues down his body and through the length of the underside of his tail. His arms and legs are patterned mostly after a human's but his hands and feet are definite exceptions. His hands end in 5 claw-tipped fingers (one of which is opposable) while his feet have only 4 toes which also end in claws.

His face ends in a blunt snout with a sloping forehead that extends back to his neck. His tongue is forked in the manner of a snake and, although he has a nose, his tongue functions in a similar fashion to a snake's. His mouth is large for his size with his jaw extending most of the length of his skull and is filled with sharp, carnivorous teeth. His eyes, a deep, vibrant blue with no visible white and vertically slitted pupils, are located towards the front and sides of his face. (If it helps, think of the way the T-Rex's face from Jurassic Park looks, but much smaller obviously. That's the general idea).

Personality:
His entire race was relentless, driven, and completely self-centered. A paragon of his race, Saur is no different. Driven by a ruthless desire to dominate, the desires of those he interacts with have little bearing on his actions. Born of a warrior culture, he rigidly adheres to his race's unique code of honor and relishes any opportunity for a fight. Students should be cautious when relying on his honor, however, as it is a result of his own alien outlook and unlikely to exactly agree with their own.

Highly intelligent, he is fully aware of the lost potential of his race. On occasion, students have noted a profound sadness and regret in him when recalling the history of their ruined civilization.

Capabilities:
While relatively weak before his near extinction, his mental powers have been honed and strengthened during his disembodied exploration. His control is great enough to allow him to move even the tiniest of objects but he is not capable of generating the same force as even the weakest student. Because of this relative lack of power, he frequently uses these abilities to distract and confuse.

Largely due to the evolutionary path his race took, Saur's senses are exceptional. He can see clearly in even the lowest light, albeit only in black and white at the extreme low end. His hearing and sense of smell are also highly developed allowing him to hear and smell his victims long before he sees them. His tongue also serves as an aid to his sense of smell as he can "taste" the air in the same manner as a snake.

Physically, Saur is immensely capable. His new body is the ultimate example of his race at the peak of their advancement. His tail, being nearly entirely muscle, is the strongest part of his body and is fully prehensile, capable of holding objects as he would with his hands. While he is not the strongest or fastest monster on the island, he has a balanced mix of both strength and agility and is noticeably superior to any student in either category. No stranger to the ravages of time and the risks inherent in physical combat, his new body does not age and is capable of regenerating virtually any wound within minutes.

Before their ascension to sentience, Saur's ancestors had been a predatory race of hunters. That aspect of their evolution never left them as they continued to value strength, skill, and intelligence throughout the course of their development. Hunting ability and martial skill remained as important as intellectual prowess. Having the sum of their memories and a body designed to represent the pinnacle of their evolution, Saur is both a highly skilled warrior and hunter.

A very creative and descriptive background. You have a very interesting character, and he's very well-written.
