Fighting Style: Mimicry of previous viewed creatures, usage of fragments as weapons.

Motivation: Curiosity, covetousness.

Psychological Profile: Shard is in many ways a child, thrilled with his newfound ability to interact with the other side of the mirror. It/he is particularly attracted to beauty of any sort, occasionally becoming transfixed by truly unique or exquisite scenes, staring in open delight.

Personality: Fluxes between boundless cheer and deep melancholy, always with a dramatic flair. Has an unfortunate habit of parroting people when not paying full attention.

Sexual Oddities: Only has sex to see the expressions of his partners, using his abilities to elicit new and beautiful views and sounds, to record within his depths for all eternity. As he has no real concept of "morality", he finds some rather unorthodox things beautiful or appealing.

Human Disguise Form? Yes.

Human Disguise Appearance: See above for bare bones. Typically wears a white summer suit, with varying colored collared undershirts, that tend to shift along the primary spectrum when he loses focus. Wears a small circular mirrored earring in his right ear. Is rather handsome, in a sharp, angular way. Human form picture. Monster form surface appearance.

Distinguishing features: Eyes tend to be cold and flat, bearing little or no emotion, no matter what he may be emulating at the time. Casts no reflection in mundane mirrors or other reflective surfaces.

Behavior: Sporadic and mercurial, depending on his mood more than anything else.

Capabilities: Can mimic forms with near perfect accuracy, though not always all the abilities of the mimicked creature. Can project and control shards of his body, forming various weapons or structures. Likes to form amalgamations of creatures he's previously seen, particularly ones that seemed to get responses out of the students. Can do various things with mirrors, such as stepping into them, between them, and messing around with the reflections of real people.

Weaknesses: Loud, high pierced sounds disrupt the core of his being, at the extremes causing his body to break down into a fine crystalline powder. The powder will slowly sift away, to reform the body elsewhere, after a few days of recovery. Can be distracted or stalled with scenes of extreme beauty.

Likes: Beautiful things, sounds, etc. Has an inexplicable fondness for human food, even though it serves no function in his body.

Dislikes: Ugly, slimy things. Tends to avoid the less physically appealing of the island's residents, by preference.

History: Shard is the result of an accident, the breaking of a perfectly normal mirror, during a full solar eclipse. The human Kyle Silver, while carrying his things up to a new apartment, ran into the door while carrying a stand mirror, at the exact moment the sun was fully hidden. His body collided with the surface of the mirror, shattering his own reflection, releasing it into the world. Unfortunately for Kyle, both beings could not exist in the same frame of reality, thus the two merged, the dying human soul being subsumed into the newly awakened creature, which named itself after the first thing it saw upon achieving consciousness.

After a period of trial and error, learning the capabilities of his human shape, Shard discovered he could return to a state of fragmented mirror pieces. Following up on this, he developed the rest of the aforementioned powers, primarily using his mirror walking ability to spy on the world unseen, occasionally tampering with mundane reflections on whim. During one such excursion of mirror walking, he entered the lavatory mirror of the plane/shuttle bound for Shokushu. Seeing a particularly attractive girl standing in the room, he stopped and watched her for a while, unknowingly trapping himself within the vehicle as it took off. Unable to shift to anything but the windows and other reflective surfaces within the shuttle, he witnessed the entire journey, and when the girls were awoken and herded off the plane, he slipped into a compact mirror to follow.

Now, having revealed himself to the staff, and agreeing to follow the regulations of the facility, he uses his abilities to seek out new and beautiful scenes with the students. He uses a cover identity as an art teacher, going by the name of his formerly human shell.
