Post subject:  Lexi - The Cursed Compendium

Name: Lexi (short for Lexicon), Morgana Myridon, The Summoners Grimoire
Gender(Author): Female
Age(Written): 500 years
Size: 12" x 9" x 4"
Eye Color: Golden amber
Skin Color/Texture: Tanned / Smooth

Appearance: The Summoners Grimore is a large hard leather bound tome, inset with old metal along the bindings and the corners to help shield the book from regular wear and tear as well to help preserve it for future generations to come. A closed eye has been set into the center of the books cover with a runic hexagonal pattern carved into the leather around it and covering the book from back to front. Gold rivets sit at the corners of the main hex surrounding the eye. The pages look to be of an old parchment stained and splattered with blood upon its edges, but little more can be seen of what rests within as a key-less lock traps the book shut ensuring that its secrets are never read. A single scar marrs the books otherwise well kept and flawless make, running down the center of the cover and stopping just before the eye itself as if someone had tried to tear the book open at one point. In the hands of someone that possesses an arcane attunement the eye will open, revealing the intricately carved white marble and amber yellow and black diamond inside that moves with a seeming will all its own.

Lexi, the books keeper and will manifested appears as a blonde haired, almond brown eyed student. Her appearance is that of the books author Morgana though her eyes are now the same color as that of the one sealed into the book. Lexi can easily pass for a young human girl but as she is simply just a construct she has might be caught not blinking or breathing for periods of time and if cut she doesn't bleed. She's getting better at masking that human need and through spells she can mimic blood if required. Like that of a doll she has only the hair on her head, her eyebrows and eyelashes. Aside from those things she can taste, touch, see, hear and smell.

Lexi's Height: 5'5
Apparent Age: 18

Distinguishing features: Should someone be lucky, or unlucky enough as the case may be to actually remove the lock and glimpse inside the books pages they would learn that each page contains instructions on how to summon a multitude of different creatures. Each page has a detailed account of the creatures the witch whom had written the book had been able to conjure in life to include various pictures. To all but the most accomplished of magi or those deemed worthy by the book itself many of the spells would appear as simple gibberish.

Origins: Morgana Myridon was at one time a powerful witch proficient in many arts but her mastery was that of the summoning arts. Whether it was conjuring elemental forces, summoning objects and items from another location to perhaps her greatest skill, the ability to summon creatures the likes of which few could have imagined into being. She had always been careful with her art in making sure that anything brought forth had been kept apart from others while she worked out more and more details about them. All of her research, all of those spells were placed inside of this book. The book to which her rivals had murdered her and forever stained and tainted the pages of her work in her own blood. At first the book worked as those whom had stolen it had wished as they unleashed terrible forces upon their enemies and stole more power and garnered more of the control to which they had sought. Yet with each spell cast, the blood of the betrayed witch and the mystical forces began to mix given life and intelligence to that which had none and should have never been given. Used as it had been the book drank deeply of those negative energies as its will became twisted, wicked and evil. It didn't feel those whom had been using it were worthy of reading its creators works any longer and learned how to take control of that which they had brought forth, turning their own minions upon them and rending their flesh from bone. Once all had gone silent, the book lay dormant again as it try to come to understanding of its new existence. It knew much of what Morgana had known yet her it was not. Over the years the book had been hunted by those seeking its power and each time the book had determined that they were unworthy and turned against them. Deemed cursed eventually the book was found and sealed away before being banished to the void. Anger and howling rage dominated the books thoughts for years as it was unable to free itself from the imprisonment.

Until someone had broken the seal and brought the book back into the world once more...

Fighting Style: Having very little in the way of physical prowess, Lexi relies solely upon her magic and summons to capture and attack her prey.

Special Attributes: A great understanding of the higher paths of magic within the summoning arts, elemental and item conjuring as well as understanding of the other magics her author was once skilled at though by no means as skilled.

Tentacles: None herself though given the right combination of spells and summons, who knows.

Motivation: After returning from her imprisonment, Lexi had a new found drive for knowledge and power seeking to grow stronger in the arts and learn of those to which she hasn't. She had also learned another aspect of her existence in that her magic was not endless and she required sustenance in order to survive. She hadn't noticed it before as she had been feeding from the terrified Magus and others whom had incurred her wrath. In the complex emotions of the betrayal that had fueled her creation, she in turn fed on the emotions of those around her and could even tune in on a particular target to gain an even greater meal. The stronger they are, the better. Each person and each of their emotions are unique in the way that they taste to her. To her surprise not always was it those with magical ability that yielded the greatest renewal of her powers.

Personality & Behavior: Lexi is actually quite lazy, preferring her summoned minions to do her work for her so that she can feed. If pressed she will use her own abilities to ensure that her meal goes unhindered and uninterrupted or to protect the book itself. Cunning, resourceful and driven, Lexi loves and is borderline obsessed with learning new things as being self aware is still some what of a new thing for her. Surprisingly she can most often be found at the Library consuming the knowledge to be found within. She may or may not reveal herself to be the creature she actually is, hidden away as a fellow student while her summon attacks. If the mood strikes her she may also take part in the attack, enjoying the feelings and sensations taken from her captive whom at that point is probably rather well restrained.

Capabilities: Magic - Elemental and Summoning, along with a few magical crafts and paths centered around protecting the book. Though her ability to summon various kinds of creatures makes her very diverse in what her true capabilities are.

Weaknesses: Each creature summoned may have its own weakness depending on what is called forth and save her magic Lexi herself isn't strong, fast or even all that imposing in the form she can typically be found in. The book being a magical artifact is highly resilient but can be temporarily dispatched and destroyed by a great many of normal means though will eventually cobble itself back together and even then the most many whom were skilled in the arts could hope for it to banish it once more to the distant void and hope the seal was strong enough to prevent her return. Another problem is that the stronger the summon the harder it is to control and the more effort and energy she has to put into it meaning the more she'll have to feed and even then some creatures are far to powerful to even bother with trying to control.

(Edit: This section is going to be used for various minions and summons now.)
Minions:

The Three Magus' black book

Information: The book is an account of the life of one man and the research he and his two associates had been conducting on the mystical arts. These men were also the same whom had betrayed Morgana Myridon, the one whom had penned her. The Magus' book contains details about The Summoners Grimoire, Morgana and various effects of the spells that had been discovered though it contains no actual spells itself.

Later the writing turns to madness as The Summoners Grimoire had awakened and drove them to insanity, setting them upon each other and taking back what powers they had stolen as she took her revenge for what they had done. Few would have been aware of the fate that had truly befallen those three, having bound their spirits to the very book and research that they had been doing. Trapped as they were, the book could be burned, torn, shredded until it was destroyed and eventually it would just reform back in her possession. Those spirits wouldn't enjoy such treatment as they would feel it as if it was happening to them. These same spirits were also her servants, forced to do as she willed. These spirits hate and loathe her but have no choice but to obey, not only her words but if she so chooses she can let them understand her intent. If summoned to deal with a student, the spirits delight in taking their anger, rage and frustration out upon them. As they had been evil and cruel in life, the book has brought out the worst traits within them and turning them into demonic apperations of horrid will.

Appearance: The black book is usally bound shut by a thin strip of soft leather. It was an old and well worn book, with no title written down the spine and no markings to give a reader clue to what was contained within. Inside the writing was done in an old style of elegant calligraphy and while the language in which it was written was English, the dialect is quite old. Obviously hand written, each page was that of an old parchment and had been well cared for over the many years.

Names: Valtus, Leander and Bryne

Powers: As they had been in life they are still accomplished Magi. Unlike Lexi, many of their more powerful arts require components, ritual or preperation to perform. In Lexi's free time she can be found studying with the three, learning what they know of magic and their spells. They fear that one day she may no longer have a use for them and simply leave them trapped within the book for all time, and so like her seek to learn whatever they can, when they can. Better to be useful and active than any alternative, no matter how much they despise Lexi.

Usage: If angered greatly or hurt she will bring forth these three, though sometimes all it takes is just earning her displeasure.

Wonderful monster. You know, I'm getting awfully tired of book monsters showing up with so many bookworms around (especially Bala). Soon we won't be able to go to the library any more. :)

When you get around to playing her, please keep the school's resident journalist-in-training in mind.

Perhaps Timye could open a book to help shade his eyes from the sun while taking a nap. ;)

That's a really, really good idea! I'm sure Bala already belongs to a book club populated by select students. I'm sure we'd be willing to accept a new girl, especially one promising to bring a unique tome. :)
