Background: Born to one of the ancient clans of Japan, Mai was trained from a young age in the ways of the sword. She was an excellent student, learning the ancient techniques easily and even adapting some of them to her own design. Her instructors were amazed at her rapidly growing skill, as her sharp mind compounded with what could only be described as otherworldly speed caused her to quickly outgrow the ancient lessons.

At the age of 20 she was appointed as the captain of the village guard and she did not disappoint the elders. Over the next few years she repelled the invasion of many groups of thieves who looked to take her villages treasure for themselves. One day, as she was returning to the village after a battle, Mai was met at the gate by a recruiter for the ADD. They told her that they had heard of her impressive skills and had come to offer her a position to protect more then just her small village. Not particularly wanting to go and leave her responsibilities behind, she was about to turn them down when the elders came out and told her to go saying that they could take care of things while she was gone.

Psychological Profile/Personality: Mai is a loner, preferring to work alone on her missions no matter the danger to herself. Even when her position with the ADD forces her to work with others her fellow agents would be hard pressed to get her to say a word as they did their work.

Equipment: Her sword (enhanced with metals taken from the ADD to make it impossibly sharp), a small collection of knives, and the standard issue ADD fare (which she refuses to use).

Ship/Vehicle: A single person stealth fighter equipped with an experimental warp drive (which is supposedly undetectable by anyone....or so they told her.)
