Background: The silver spoonBorn into a political family, Sinead Connolly was the daughter of a much beloved governor of an east coast U.S. state. Like her sisters, she was raised in the lap of luxury, and never wanted for anything. Even for a middle child, Sinead was often in the spotlight. She was gifted with an eidetic memory from a young age, and accordingly her academic career was impressive if not boring ro her. Gymnastics filled the gap left where most would be studying, and there was occasional talk of training for the Olympics, though nothing ever came of it and even Sinead began to suspect it was a ploy to keep the media's attention off any negative publicity for her father.
By her preteens, Sinead's mother was actively involved in politics as well, running for a seat in the House, and leaving Sinead and her two sisters, McKenna and Jessica, to fend for themselves. There were always a bodyguard or two within the home, however, and Sinead began to take an interest in the suited men and women. She would ask after their job details and qualifications, and while this didn't satisfy her completely, she eventually decided that she wanted a job not in politics like her parents, but as a CIA agent... someone in the field, or in the girl's eyes, a modern day hero.
She began to take self defense courses, and then full martial arts studies, while keeping herself in shape and taking an interest in law and foreign affairs as areas of study. Dissatisfied with her choice of career but still wishing the best for her, her parents simply let her pursue her new goal but didn't help her along the way. In the months before her older sister was to attend college, they began to argue behind closed doors, obviously about the children, though it was uncertain what was involved. It seemed McKenna had been offered a scholarship to a school but her father didn't wish her to attend. For what reason, Sinead was uncertain, as it was always her mother that was pursuing perfection with McKenna, the most likely to follow in their footsteps as a politician. Finally her mother came to Sinead with an offer... apparently there was a scholarship offer for Sinead in lieu of McKenna, should the elder sister be uninterested. Sinead, not finding this odd at all (well used to living in her sister's shadow by this point) agreed, though she could tell something about this arrangement upset her father. Even by the time she finished her primary schooling and left for Shokushu University, she could never get an answer out of him.
Alien AlumnusSinead didn't spend long on the campus before discovering it's horrible secret. Her figure, well developed despite her athleticism, made her a frequent target of the island's monsters. To her credit, she did manage to develop several survival techniques... always walking in groups on campus, never being alone in a room, never drawing the stern gaze of the school's "disciplinary committee" (At least not after the first time, though charges often seemed to be trumped up out of nowhere).
She had even met a few others who shared her experiences and tried to form a group to teach the others self defense and cooperate to protect each other when they felt they were vulnerable. This had varying degrees of success, though anything felt like a major victory in their powerless state.
Surprisingly she continued to excel in her studies, graduating with a degree in criminal justice, for whatever it was worth. She wasn't sure what to expect when she was freed from the island school (Having still not realized that she wasn't even on earth), but suspected any public outcry would be disregarded as crazed conspiracies. She knew that her father had known something before sending her off though... she now understood why he had so vehemently opposed her mother on the matter. She would have questions for both of them, she assured herself.
CommencementOnly a day after her graduation, whilst packing her bags, her thoughts on home, Sinead was drug from her room in the middle of the night. It was a monster, one she had seen often in her time on the island, and one that had promised to take her back to his home, make her nothing more than a piece of sexual art, somewhere between slave, doll, and statue. She was already chained into a display by the time he had loaded her onto his ship, two other women beside her... recent graduates, one of them a close friend. The reptilian being made sure they were able to see as it left the tiny planet... pointing out that they had been deceived all along. This was not their earth.
Going back was never an option.
While Sinead tried to keep the other's hopes up... whispering promises of escape if they stuck together, she didn't believe it herself until there was a sudden rocking throughout the ship. Soon the sounds of battle followed, and a woman in an opaque space helmet appeared, freeing the three women and telling them to move... ushering them through the ship until they began to board another ship. As they did so, their rescuer broke off, re-engaging their captor in an attempt to help an apparent partner. They would never see her or her accomplice again, as something triggered the ship's autopilot after a few minutes of waiting, and the women watched helplessly as the ship left the brave women on the alien ship.
The ship took them back to the ADD, who were disheartened to see that that two of their agents had been lost, but at least glad to see three potential recruits from the tradeoff. They were inducted... whether they wanted to be or not.
Sinead and one of the others, her friend, took to their training with zeal... their young minds eager for justice, however each of them saw it. The third took less of an interest, not wanting to be warrior, and soon Sinead stopped hearing from or about her. Sinead herself was equipped and assigned early, her gymnastic abilities and moderate fighting capabilities proving adept at turning her into an agent.
Psychological Profile: Sinead is more stable than she has a right to be, after enduring a paparazzi filled childhood and a college life filled with the constant threat of rape and both physical and emotional pain. She's charismatic despite her young age and inexperience, and handles stress better than many. At the same time, she does harbor an incredible amount of stress and when it bubbles over, it hits her hard. Perhaps worse, is the deep seated fear that she's developed some evolution of Stockholm Syndrome, and carries a guilt about her first and primary source of sexual experience being via inhuman rape. As well, there's a rightful distrust of the senior officials at ADD, seeing them as alien apologists instead of humanity's defenders.
Of curiosity is the collar Sinead almost always seems to wear like a choker... a thin, black leather one with a single ring at the front, supposedly the one on her when she was first freed by the A.D.D. She won't admit if this is a reminder of her resolve or more of a sexual fetish.
Personality: Sinead learned a great deal about influencing others from both of her parents, and leadership comes relatively easy to her. Even when she's not in a leadership role, her outward confidence and bravado often inspire her allies and make her enemies think twice. She's talkative when she needs to be but actually rather introverted, and prefers to recuperate with quiet sanctity, often meditating or working out alone to help cool off after missions.
As her gear and dress usually suggest, she appreciates technology and advances, but has a weakness for style and nostalgia as well.
Virgin? No
Piercing or Tattoos: Two piercings on left eyebrow (Sometimes wears small rings, sometimes wears nothing), multiple piercings on both ears
Language: English
Likes: Nostalgia, quiet reflection/meditation, motorcycles, movies
Activities: Gymnastics, Martial Arts, Learning new things
Weaknesses: Sense of style, self doubt/personal shame (if pushed very hard/forced to confront failure)
Miscellaneous: Sinead usually wears a small leather collar she was wearing when rescued by the A.D.D.
Magic? none
Fighting Style: Proficient in kickboxing, many styles of wushu, some jeet kune do, traditional boxing, and even Kendo, though she rarely uses a sword.
Motivation: Sinead helps the ADD out of a combination of her sense of justice and the desire to do SOMETHING to help the plight of humans in the universe at large.
Capabilities: Eidetic Memory - Sinead has a photographic memory... she can remember most things within one or two times of having first seen it. She uses this to learn information and even skills at an astonishing rate.
Firearms training - The ADD has trained Sinead in the use of firearms, though she often favors outdated ones over modern variants (Bolt action rifles, revolvers, etc.)
Charisma- Sinead has effective leadership and negotiation skills, though her inexperience in the field sometimes conflicts with this, and she hasn't yet earned a leadership position within the A.D.D.
Weapons of choice: Gauntlets/Gloves - Sinead's main weapons of choice are two gloved gauntlets that cover her fists, forearms and elbows. They have a flexible material at the wrist to allow freedom of movement. The gloves have steel shot loaded into the fingers and knuckles, augmenting Sinead's human strength to feel as if she were wearing brass knuckles, while protecting her own hands from damage in a fight. The gauntlets contain shock plates, capable of absorbing blows from above-human level strength, as well as a small screen on the bottom to control her earpiece. Finally, the left gauntlet holds a short range taser just behind the wrist that can be used to arrest muscle activity in life forms (Just like a handheld taser, the weapon is completely ineffective against armor or skin too thick to pierce).
Revolver - While many updated weapons were available, Sinead typically carries a .357 revolver as her sidearm of choice, citing accuracy and reliability over technology. It is a double action weapon of which she keeps extra ammo on her belt.
Rifle - Sinead owns a bolt action, .308 scoped rifle which she sometimes uses for scouting or missions where ranged fighting is likely. Otherwise, she often leaves this weapon behind on the ship.
Equipment:Earpiece/visor - Sinead wears a small device in her right ear which acts as a multi-frequency radio. It is controlled via a wireless touch screen built into the bottom side of her left gauntlet, on the opposite side of the shock pads so that it will not be damaged by fighting. It can also extend a small eyepiece over her right eye, which can augment her vision with low-light or thermal optics, or merely display a small heads-up display to keep her in the know. Finally, the earpiece can act as a translator, capable of processing many alien and human languages into English for Sinead.
Ship/Vehicle:Jaguar Light Transport - A relatively cheap model often afforded to rookie pilots, the Jaguar is typically used as a troop transport, though Sinead has modified hers to be lighter, faster, and carry at least some armament. Sinead's personal Jaguar had some of the storage area retrofitted to be living quarters. At the departure ramp, there is a small area to secure Sinead's motorcycle. The Transport area is relatively intact but includes a small jail cell made for offenders of alien strength. The craft itself houses only one torpedo tube, but has updated sensor and communication arrays.
Custom Motorcycle "Morrigan" - Modified from an retro earth model Suzuki Hayabusa, Sinead's motorcycle has been modified for speed and the ability to handle rougher terrain than a sport bike. As a result it is just slightly taller, and slightly faster than it's ancestor. Most of her fellow agents joke that Sinead spends more time and money on her bike than her starship.
