Post Bookworm (for Lucky)
It was getting late, the sun had been setting on the horizon splashing the heavens with a sea of colors that one could say had been beautiful to watch. But he hardly noticed. Bright lights hurt his eyes and watching the sun set on another day had been something he had only done once.

He did so because he had absorbed that into his mind from humans as he absorbed them in the past. He had not known what the big deal about watching a splash of colors in the heavens. Something's he never understood nor was he ever really going to understand them.

He had been coming back from the dorms making his way across campus, a simple illusion had made him out to be nothing more then a student to the casual onlooker. He had been unsatisfied with his recent hunt and had been about ready to make a day of it when his node had chimed into his mind telling him that there had been a student in the library that he had stored away.

The good news was the library was virtually empty at this stage other then the librarian and a potential target. He thought about it for a moment, then detoured in the direction of the library. His strides were slow but that was alright, he knew that his top speed hadn't been much quicker and the little node would let him know of any changes that occurred while it continued to spy on his opportunity target. Thus, he headed towards the building housing the library on this campus.

Post Re: Bookworm (for Lucky)
Himeji had transferred to the new school some few days ago, and still had lots to do to get on pace with things, learning as she went day by day. The hardest part for her to adapt thus far had been the language, english being mostly used and her abilities with it being barely average. This had let her to spend few evenings so far in the library, trying to force herself to learn, tense, focused look on her face as she tried her best to make all the stuff in the books sink into her brain.

Ofcourse the library would be closed sooner or later, and before she even noticed it was already late, the librarian telling her that it was closing time. She had responded that she'd leave in a moment, the librarian having taken off, the automated locks and lights soon enough triggering. The lights got dimmer, making reading harder, and that was her cue. She stood up, heading for the doors leading to the hallway that would again lead to dorms.

"Sorry, we're closed," the rather plump librarian said as she stalked away. That of course had been alright seeing that a locked door was no real obstacle for him. He nodded, maintaining his illusion then moved up to the doors, glancing once over his shoulder to make sure the Liberian had departed.

She had ... Oprah or Doctor Oz or something must have been starting soon seeing that there had been no trace of the woman. He felt her presence dimming in strength as she moved away from him just as his prey's had been growing larger.

Cloaked in the illusionary form of a student Aegir saw Himeji as she approached the locked doors. They had been the full sized glass ones so he could easily gaze through them at the girl. "Let me in. I'll be quick! I know what I'm after ..."

His voice had been slightly raised to be heard, a hand going to the handle of the door and as if for emphasis he pulled on it softly to show that it was indeed locked ...

Himeji saw the other student behind the door. Obviously she had no idea what she was for real, she had no reason to doubt her eyes, and monsters were something out of books and television, nothing more as far as she was concerned. Then again she had been told to make sure no one gets in as she leaves, the library meant to be shut down as she departed, making her doubt and want to obey the orders.

She came to door, and was just about to open it to tell the other student the bad news, feeling bad for doing so, but still wanting to obey. The fake students plea however had her decision waver, doubt creeping as she slowed her motions for amoment, trying to decide how to proceed with this.

Finally she opened the door, standing aside to let the girl in, whispering with hushed voice "Ok, but be quick!" she whispered, giving her permission while biting her lip, looking around nervously. She found herself to be often too kind hearted, people using her good intentions, but she couldn't either help it. "Fast!" she again whispered to emphasize the urgency.

"Thank you," she said as she entered into the library. "I thought I'd get her sooner but swimming practice went longer then I anticipated and I got to start on a paper this weekend for physics. Which way is it to that section? There's a book by a fellow named Davis that I have to grab. The World in Motion it's called."

Aegir had sensed her earlier doubt just as he sensed her kind heartedness. But he had objectives of his own, the primary one would be getting her away from the doors to prevent her from fleeing out of them if she came to suspect what he had been.

Himeji looked at the girl and past her by turn, obviously nervous for breaking the orders given to her by letting the other girl in. The other girl seemed awfully casual about it, something she couldn't be no matter how she tried, her personality not having that mischievousness in it.

The question presented had her stumbling on her words, she didn't really know the library too well, nor how it was divided in sections. She kept repeating "Um..." while looking away, pondering. Finally she atleast thought to have figured it, pointing towards the right side of the library from the door. "Books related to physics are there... I atleast think they are..." She hesitated still, doubting her own memory.

"Thanks, I'm terrible with the Dewey Decimal system, all I know is that the 600's were sociology books. My ex took that as a major his first year in college and spent a good chunk of time there, in the library reading this or that. He was never too far from that section.

"Just there?" She pointed with her index finger at the mentioned books. Then she had been off in that direction. Odd that she did not seem too quick as if she had a cramp in her leg. She got to the shelves, knelt down and began scanning titles by moving her head, starting at the lower shelves, reading the tiles on the spine or maybe even the numbers as if she new what category the book would fall into.

She explained. "I figured that the computers would be down. It's a good thing I've taken the book out a few times. 619.00 same as my first room number on the dorm I had freshman year, that's why I remember it after so long. Don't remember that little letter after the number though, think it was M but I'm not totally sure on that one."

Himeji listened, trying to look as if she atleast understood what the girl was saying, though most of it went over her head, so she just nodded and tried her best to look as if it made sense to her. Ofcourse she escorted the talkative girl, wanting not to get caught and deeming it better to follow rather than stand besides open door looking stupid.

She stood by as the other girl started to scan trough the shelves, looking to the door nervously now and then, slight up and down bouncing done as she was quite tense. The other girl seemed so terribly casual about it, talking as if they were in cafe or somehing, seemingly unphased by breaking the rules. She on other hand was stiff, nodding to her explanation, now and then whispered "yeah" given as response, only hoping she'd hurry up and nothing would go wrong.

The feel of emotions washed over Aegir, making him aware of the fact that she was merely agreeing for agreement sake. But he had continued in his rouse seeing that she had not been any wiser to his ploy.

The girl looked up, stringing some of her hair out of her face as she brushed it back behind her ears. Some of the long strands had been free of their scrunches and had dangled into her face.

She looked up at Himeji and smiled. "So what are you studying?"

Pretending to look Aegir spread his illusionary power over one of the books that had been blocked from her sight, he transformed the title on it with a simple gamer, looked back as he listened to her answer then let slender fingers fall on the book before peeling it out from the others then smiling.

"Found it," she said while standing back up and gazing at the book in her hands.

Himeji was slightly surprised by the sudden question, gasping, stuttering for a moment "Eh? eh, hmm..." But after few seconds regaining her composure, she had barely not been expecting such a question at the given moment.

"Eearly Childhood Education" She finally smirked, it was not something that was too popular field, but she hardly had talent to speak of to take on more difficult fields revolving around lots of brainwork. She had picked up something she thought she might be able to handle.

Then the other girl finally announced that she had found the book, which made Himeji sigh out a drawn out breath of relief. "Good good... Now lets get out before someone comes around..." She whispered, glancing towards the doors to make her point clear.

"Not a bad choice there. I got an aunt that teaches kindergarten it's not the greatest pay but what other job do you have where you get 3 months off in a year, plus all those holidays and vacations the kids have as well. She gets paid year round rather then what you work, it's one of the payment options, get paid more over less weeks or get less but stretch it out for a year.

"She works summers in an ice cream parlor to supplement her funds in the summer months." She let her eyes drift towards the door and even made a few strides to it before spinning about and nearly dropping the book out of her hands.

"What was that? There it is again." She slowly moved down the rows that held stacks of books, seemingly curious about something.

Himeji had in fact never really thought it to the degree the other girl was doing right now really, she hadn't planned that far or anything. Still the way this unknown fellow student spoke about it made it sound quite fun and good choice, while she herself had mostly thought to pick something that didn't involve too much thinking, not her strongest point. "I-I see... that sounds nice." She replied, smirking and nodding, trying to act casual, even if nervousness was painted all over her.

The dropped books startled her, making her nearly jump, the sudden nudge making her chest jiggle slightly. "W-what was what?" she asked unsure, uncertainty in her voice. She followed, though quite carefully, trying to peek over the other girls shoulder. "come on... we should just leave before someone comes by..." She whispered nervously.

"That sound ... sounded like scrapping or something," she said as they pushed on. Of course there had been no such sound but it had been Aegir's aim to get her away from the door least any passerbys gaze in and see her in distress.

Now he was quite confident that he could handle interference or even project an illusion of an empty libarary but why bother with things if there had not been the need to? He had been rather lazy in that regard though at least he had been becoming a little more creative with using his illusions.

"We'll go after we check it out, won't take more than a minute." Not at all, Aegir thought. Not long at all ...

Himeji had not heard the sound, whatever it had been that the other girl claimed to have heard, but then again she had no point to doubt the other girl either, completely oblivious of the real thing behind the disguise. Still, no matter how she looked, she couldn't see anything that could have caused the claimed sound.

"O-okay." she agreed, though with hesitant voice, which was just what she was now, hesitant. The stay in library had already dragged longer than she'd preferred. "come on now, it was nothing, lets just get out of here..." She urged with whispering voice.

She ignored the other, pressing onward. "I think someone is here. Do you hear that? Sounds like foot steps now. Soft and light."

Aegir pressed on halting when he deemed himself far enough away, He glanced towards her then pointed haphazardly to a pile off spilled books on the floor. "That must be what I heard, some precariously balanced books fell from the shelf."

He waited until she could see the illusion of books then turned towards Himeji. "I guess we can go now if that was all it was that I heard, curiosity sated."

"Of course we'll go, right after I show you something else ..." she grabbed Himeji by the arms with her hands, smiled and showed her skin bubbling and moving, she seemed to elongate, tendrils sprouted out near her mouth while her legs ripped apart being replaced by mauve tentacles. Aegir was dropping his illusion of course and before long the illusion had melted away as did the pile of books on the floor for that matter.
