She grinned, the scent of ozone filling his nostrils though his eyes had squinted nearly closed at the brightness of the lights that danced before his eyes as the flames licked the wood of the shed, crackling as it turned wooden beams a charred black coloration. He watched in silence, a thin smile spreading across his face as he watched on.

Obvious he had masked himself with his own illusions that cloaked his true form. He now took the form that he had used before, the red head Ruby. A fellow student she transferred into Katy's biology class a week back and the two had become close, at least that was the impression that he had relayed through his telepathic abilities.

His gaze glanced in the direction of the dorms as he witnessed lights coming on their a dark little shapes appearing by the windows as people peered out in the direction of the flames that had been burning for some time now.

"Let's go ... it's going to get hotter here pretty soon."

katy smiles as she plays with a ball of fire that is in her hands "sounds like a plan, plus... if it is going to get hotter i do not want people intruding" katy says smilling to ruby

Ruby grinned her eyes flickering towards the dorms then back at Katy. She smiled at the older girl then started away. Being on an island she figured that an response would be slow in coming, that fire trucks would have to come up here from a nearby town.

Fires, therefore, were awfully dangerous given the response times. Of course the tool shed had been rather isolated so it was less likely that a breeze would carry a burning amber to carry to another building.

"No one will be at the greenhouse," she said mischievously.

"except us^^" katy says smilling as she "shall we?" katy asks smilling

Ruby nodded, still grinning before she lead the way there. Aegir had still been in her head making Katy perceive that he had been moving faster than he was seeing that his movement had been quite slow.

At last they came to the greenhouse. It had been locked up of course though Ruby examined the lock then fiddled through the pockets of her slacks, pulled out a few lock pocks and examined them before switching one for another in her pocket. She worked on the lock, caught the tumblers after a few minutes and opened the door.

"I use to get locked out at my place a lot and had a good deal of practice. My old boyfriend was ... well into notorious stuff and showed me how to develop my fledgling skills."

She flicked on the light switch beside the door as she entered the warm room. Various plants had been set up on tables here while the walls, little more than a see through tarp had been here. They could see out though it was not far given the darkness outside.

Aegir could not sense the minds of any sentients nearby other than Katy though, they must have been gathered at the fire ...

katy sighs and leans against the wall "well that was a bit tiring" katy huffs looking to ruby "you care to show me a few of those things that your boyfriend showed you^^" katy asks smilling

Ruby grinned and wriggled her eyebrows playfully. "There's about one thing he had on his mind constantly ... well two, he was big into that damn car of his. I'd be more interested in learning how you do that thing with you hands. Generating fire and all ... no pyrotechniques for me, I got to do things the old fashioned way through lighter fluid and matches."

katy smiles "well i can teach you a few tricks, but it took years for me to master it to my extent" katy says "and this dam island seems to dampen my ability" katy says smilling

"Oh," Ruby exclaimed as if trying to sound surprised. She considered for a moment then approached her, eyes narrowed as her voice dropped. "I bet there's a lot you can teach me."

She smiled then glanced down at Katy's hands. "I've been wondering about this place too. I use to dabble with electronics and able to manipulate them prior to coming here but I can barely turn things on now."

"i know, it is weird... anyways how about i teach you a few tricks^^" katy says smilling

Ruby took a quick glance at the plants around her, rethought how unwise a leason here amongst this flameable vegetation then let her concern melt away. "Alright, let's get this started shall we?"

katy sighs and smiles "first the basic prinsiple, heat, you need to be able to control your heat flow, to do this imagine that there is a light that is everywhere in you body, it is your heat, over time the light remains the same, but that is because it keeps escaping and multiplying at the same time, so by taking the light from every point in your body and moving it to your hand the light becomes much brighter" katy says smilling "this causes you hand to be warmer for a small period of time" katy says

Ruby digests the information then nodded. "Ok, I think I get all that. Light. Light. Right, ok go over there." she gestured away from the doorway as she considered attempting this power but didn't wish to burn Katy in the process.

When the other had moved she turned towards the middle of the greenhouse, closed her eyes and held her hands, palm open in that direction. At first nothing happened, then a moment later an enormous ring of fire erupted around them, wooden tables and plants bursting into flames as they had been consumed.

Ruby opened her eyes, grinned, "Like that?"

Her eyes became solid white orbs as she grinned, the illusion of flames had only been in Katy's mind so onlookers would see nothing amiss.

"welll......." katy says surprised "not exactly what should happen, the trick i told you was ment to only heat up you hands.... but to make fire on such a scale, i am impressed" katy says smilling

"Oh, but that isn't all I can do," she said as her body began to elongate, mauve tendrils sprouted out of the region near his mouth while his legs transformed into a mass of tentacles that supported the weight of his body as part of his illusion melted away revealing his true form.

His mind pressed against her own as he worked through buried memories and thoughts that had been contain there. His words had always been telepathic he lip syncing the movements of his mouth to his words so that she would be nonethewiser.
