Post Re: The Flow of Mana (for Kanoe)
Ishtar looked around in the kitchen for a moment trying to decide what to make. After a few minutes of check to see what was available, the blue haired apprentice hit on what to make. It took a brief moments but she made up two half sandwiches of chicken, spinach, and tomato on a piece of bread. The young lady happily added some silverware to use with the meal. By the time she was done the tea was ready.

Okay, dinner is served. Ishtar walked out with a Kanoe's dish and drink in hand and presented it before the host. I hope you enjoy the meal. The young apprentice smiled widely before she headed back for her own meal. As she came back, she could help but be curious what Kanoe thought of the meal.

The witch patiently waited and Ishtar did not disappoint. A plate and cup was set before her. The dinner was simple but would be enough to satisfy any pangs of hunger Kanoe may have. She closed her tome and sets it aside before taking a bite. The food was not disgusting so it passed any minor test she had. This was merely getting her new apprentice used to this role that was expected of her.

"It will do, thank you," Kanoe replied. She finished eating and sipped her tea as she waited for Ishtar to finish her own food. "Before I can attempt teaching you this spell, I need to know how fluent you are in magic as a language. Are you capable of chanting incantations? If not, this will take a bit longer as it takes some time and training to get used to the rather.. spidery words of magic." The witch pushed her plate away so that Ishtar could take it from her when ready. With dinner out of the way, she had all night to learn more about her new little student.

Ishtar was happy to see that to see Kanoe at least satisfied with her meal. At least the blue haired student was providing some sort of service to raven haired lady. Ishtar smiled a little as she ate her meal. It's not have bad, if I do say so myself, she thought to herself. As she finished her meal, the young woman noticed her mentor had already pushed her plate away.

The young woman immediately picked up the plate and added it to her own as she got ready to return both to the kitchen. As she did so Kanoe, asked her a question about her knowledge of the magical language. Magical incantations. I know a little bit based on what I saw others do, but I am afraid I not very fluent. The few words I do know is mostly from see others and through trial and error.

Post Re: The Flow of Mana (for Kanoe)
The blue haired woman was catching on quickly, taking the witch's plate and taking the now dirty dishes to the kitchen. Not being fluent in the words of magic was going to make this more difficult. But, she could not expect this beginner to know everything right from the start. "Then we will have to start with some trial and error," she said simply, "I will help you pronounce the incantation and drill you until you are able to say it fluently with no hesitation. The last thing we need is for you to miscast."

"You will not need to channel mana during this part of the lesson. Prepare a glass of water for yourself if you need it. The incantation for the spell is 'apto meus vultus ut meus votum'. Do be sure to pronounce each syllable clearly," she took a moment to drink her tea before continuing, "It is possible to cast magic without the use of incantations. But the spells tend to be more difficult to channel and control. Also, the spells tend to be much weaker at the cost of more mana. These words help your focus as well as guide the flow of mana. Now then, you may begin whenever you are ready. I will stop you if you make a mistake."

Once Ishtar begins, Kanoe would do her best to guide the woman through the strange words of magic. This incantation was much easier than some of the dark element spells the witch uses. If her apprentice proves to have a great deal of difficulty, she will drill the woman one syllable at a time until the entire incantation is said.

Post Re: The Flow of Mana (for Kanoe)
As Ishtar was about to return from the kitchen she heard Kanoe's warning to bring a glass of water. It was clear that this lesson was going to be fairly lengthy. The blue haired student returned with her glass of water and came back and took a seat. This lesson seemed to be very important, using incantations were a double edged sword. They can make spells easier and less draining to cast a spell, but she would have to be perfect in in its use or the young student could get into a lot trouble. Ishtar put on the most serious face, as she nodded to her raven haired mentor.

Ishtar began to practice speaking the words, she found the words not as hard as she would imagine it. Had she spoken them before? She had no way of knowing. She did stumble a bit as she had some trouble trying to remember the correct pronunciation, but Kanoe soon had her straightened out. Apto meus vultus ut meus votum. Like that, right?

Kanoe had the woman repeat the incantation several more times to ensure the words were not forgotten. "Yes, this should be enough," the witch said finally, "Now on to channeling. The incantation will make the method of channeling this spell more second nature. Simply charge your body with your mana by doing a basic channel with no real direction. Your mind and words will do the rest."

Sighing softly, the dark haired woman began to channel. She could feel the wonderful powers of mana flow through her veins and to every inch of her body. It always felt good using her magic. "Apto meus vultus ut meus votum," she chanted. Her eyes closed and her robes began to shimmer and change in shape. It took a few moments as the fabric seemed to split and change in ways unnatural until Kanoe's robes were replaced with a tight fitting black dress with a long skirt. She looked ready to go to some sort of royal ball.

"It may look easy but there are many steps involved," she smiled softly before letting the dress shimmer and return to being her robes, "As far as I know, this is just an illusion but you can make it feel real. The image will match your mental image and your imagination. But be sure to alter or hide what you are currently wearing as well so the image does not overlap. If you think it will be easier, you may shed some clothing. Otherwise, you may begin when you are ready. Do not tire yourself out too quickly now." Kanoe would watch carefully to ensure the beginning mage did not drain herself of too much mana. She has already seen Ishtar's limits so one could not be too careful in this situation.

Post Re: The Flow of Mana (for Kanoe)
Ishtar smiled briefly before she began to prepare to cast the spell. The blue haired woman took a few deep breaths to relax herself before she began channeling mana. Ishtar began to think about what she wanted to cast. She wanted something simple, just so she could get use to casting the spell. Thinking about what her raven-haired mentor stated about hiding her clothes or shedding them.

Ishtar closed her eyes and began to disrobe removing her skirt then her vest and blouse. Soon the blue haired student was clad in only her yellow rose themed bra and panties. Still she tried to concentrate on only her spell. Slowly she began to channel her mana, letting it build within her. As per her mentor's words she simply just let it build with no focus or direction. Ishtar could feel the warm of the mana build with in her and soon she realized she was ready to cast a spell.

Apto meus vultus ut meus votum Slowly but surely her bra and panties began to change shape as the two pieces of garment slowly stretched out until they met. At that point they merged to form a single piece bathing suit with a single row of yellow roses pattern going diagonally down her chest. So how do I look?

Her new apprentice did not complain at all and even took the witch's advice. The yellow went well with the woman's light blue hair. But Kanoe did not let her eyes linger too much. This was still a lesson afterall. She could feel her skin tingle lightly revealing that mana was being channeled. She briefly looked at the woman using mana sight to ensure that the student did not force too much mana at once. The words were spoken clearly and soon what little clothing the student had on was being altered.

Ishtar's eyes were closed, probably focusing on a mental image of what she wanted to look like. Soon the lace was replaced with a tight fabric that spread over the woman's entire body as a swimsuit. Kanoe smiled faintly at the question. The spell went very well for a first time. "You look wonderful," she replied, "You did well in using what you had on for the final image. I suppose the next step would be to work on creating an outfit that contrasts completely with what you are or are not wearing. How do you feel? Was the spell difficult or tiring to channel at all?"

Post Re: The Flow of Mana (for Kanoe)
Ishtar took a deep breath as she the swimsuit slowly faded back into her underwear. It was a little tiring but I feel alot better than I did the last time I casted a spell. Ishtar smiled a bit. This is amazing. I was never felt so confident casting a spell. Ishtar really wanted to moved ahead to casting the next spell.

She immediately began took a single deep breath and began to channel mana again. The young woman could feel the mana flow through her body once again. The blue haired woman closed her eyes as she embraced the mana flowing through her. I can do this. I know it. Ishtar began to build an image of her in a long flowing red dress. She chanted the incantation and began to channel the spell. At first it began to work as her underwear slowly changed began to expand to try to form the long dress but as the colors began to change, the young woman began to have a little difficulty with the spell. A look of concern appeared on her face.

Post Re: The Flow of Mana (for Kanoe)
The woman was confident and perhaps a bit overeager. Already the student was channeling once more and going for a greater alteration. Kanoe continued to watch as what little Ishtar had on began to stretch and change in shape and color. She noticed that her apprentice was straining herself. A long flowing dress appeared but the color seemed washed out as the woman struggled to change it.

"Do not push yourself too hard," Kanoe reassured the woman, "If it is too difficult just end the spell for now and we can take it on again in slower steps. It is not worth harming yourself over." She was uncertain if her words would reach the woman in such a focused state. If need be, she will try and end the spell herself so Ishtar does not burn herself out.

Ishtar continued to attempt to complete the spell, some sweat appearing on her forehead. She continued to try to think red as tried to bring color to dress. Slowly but surely the dress was complete but the color was still a problem for the young lady. She continued to attempt to the force the spell to work, so hard in fact she couldn't here Kanoe warning not to force the spell. In fact she barely heard her mentor at all. Come on work. she muttered under her breath. Slowly and barely did some color begin to appear in the dress.

Post Re: The Flow of Mana (for Kanoe)
The witch sighed softly and rose to her feet as the woman continued to channel. It was troublesome but she had to admire Ishtar's persistence. Kanoe allowed her sight to return to normal as she moved up to the woman's shimmering form. The spell was only an illusion it should be safe to interfere. The woman was still struggling with the color as bits of red began to fill the colorless dress. Perhaps the color red was difficulty to think about. It was a rather passionate color afterall.

"Ishtar!" she said firmly as she grabbed the woman's shoulders and gently shook her. "Stop channeling! You are going to hurt yourself if you keep this up." If the woman did not stop, she would shake harder before attempting to channel her own mana to stop the spell. Hopefully this would get the student's attention. She did not need her new apprentice harming herself on the first day.

Post Re: The Flow of Mana (for Kanoe)
Ishtar was beginning to sweat heavily and she thought she was close to finishing the spell. It should be fairly easy, why is she having to trouble with it. Little did she know she was using far more mana that she should and she on the verge of getting in trouble to casting the spell. She was starting to a major strain on herself attempting to force the spell.

It was then she felt a pair of hands on her shoulders followed by the gentle shaking. The blue haired student came back to reality to as Kanoe was finally able to interrupt Ishtar's casting. As the apprentice dropped her spell, the long dress slow lost its color and returned back into her underwear. Finally, the underwear slowly returned to original yellow state. It was then and only then that the apprentice had realized that she attempting to use far more mana than what was required. Oh my! What did I do wrong?

"What did you do wrong? Hmph!" she huffed and flicked Ishtar's forehead, "I told you to not force it. You are just changing your appearance not blowing open a door. You look exhausted. Thats what happens when you use too much mana. If you kept pushing you could have collapsed, blacked out, or worse.." The witch sighed and helped guide the woman to her chair. "Drink some water and relax. As I said before, there is no rush. Illusions are not about brute force or at least I do not think so." She shrugged slightly as illusions and manipulation was not exactly her forte.

Kanoe returned to her chair and sat down. "How do you feel now? You seemed to have difficulty with the coloring of the dress. Can you tell me anything you noticed hindering you? Besides using too much mana, I am unsure what you were doing exactly." She sipped her tea. With the danger out of the way, they both could relax a bit. It was doubtful Ishtar was ready for another attempt just yet. Running out of mana was very dangerous. Mana was life and both Claire and herself had gone through the pains of nearly being drained completely.

Post Re: The Flow of Mana (for Kanoe)
Ishtar rubbed her forehead from where Kanoe flicked it. She followed her mentor as her mentor guided her to a chair nearby. Sorry, I guess that was abusing old habits. I had a tendancy to force the issue when I absolutely had to. I guess I am still attempting my old habits. Ishtar sighed a bit, annoyed she still falling to her old ways. The blue haired student sat down in the chair a little too exhausted right now to notice she was still only clad in her underwear.

The young lady took a sip of water, her mentor sat down in her own chair. I am a bit tired, but I think I fine overall. I not sure what was going on. I think I was trying to reach for too much and got confused, like I was manipulating more than I should have. I should have stopped there, but I so close I didn't want to stop. I'm sorry about that. Ishtar took another sip of water again as she took this opportunity to rest. She wanted to try the spell again, but her body was far from ready right now. And she still needed to understand what she had done wrong before she could try this again.
