Shin's blade came down intercepting the first attack though as he back peddled away from Ryu he had tripped over his own feet falling to the deck of the ship. He did, however, manage to bring his sword back in time to parry an incoming attack though he had been hard pressed to do so with the fall. He was scrambling upon the ground trying to defend himself when it occurred.

She had felt something against her left arm, a nick as the flesh of her skin was cut. The wound did not hurt and probably would do no more then wince at a momentary stinging sensation if she were still capable of feeling pain.

It was Guido who had come upon her from behind. The dirk in his hand covered with her blood as it rolled down her arm. Evidentally he was protecting his interests here. Shin only grinned at the development.

"Stop playing around and be done with it, Shin, I tire of this," the tall Italian stated though he had not peeled his eyes away from Ryu as he spoke as he was appraising her with his eyes.

Ryu was going to win by then, she was aware of that, but before she could settle for her final strike she felt a touch on her arm. Immediately her eyes tried to make out the origin and found her blood pouring out from a small wound on the limb. The sight wasn't as stunning as the fact Guido stepped in to deny her victory and the chance to stay with Bryce, also with the threat of a dirk.

The rapier did not point at Shin anymore as she lowered it, speaking in a calm tone. "Has been a nice match, Shin." She gave him a pitiful expression as she had to admit her defeat though it wasn't fair at all. "I do realize when I am inferior, I've been stubborn to think I could put up much of a struggle."

It slid out of her right hand, slowly at first but then dropped quickly as she simply let go. The weapon clattered as it made contact with the ground and then laid still as only the waves against the ship seemed able to move it. Shin seemed as surprised as anyone as he got to his feet. He leaned over and retrieved the fallen sword resheathing it then tossing the other to Guido who deftly caught it in mid flight and returned it and the dirk to their homes at his waist before turning over the saber to Shin who stored it as well.

Weapons seen to Shin spoke to a man near him, one of those that had been restraining Bryce. "Mario, retrieve her things and lets go."

He said no more than this, simply nodding at Ryu then walking back to one of the gang planks set down between the two ships that allowed his crossing. He had not gloated, that much stem had been let out of him given the manner of the victory though they were soon off, Guido guiding Ryu to the other ship without so much as a second thought to the prone body of Bryce on the deck.

When her things had been gathered the planks that had been set down and the grapples holding the ships together were released as the Italian vessel moved off, making a wide U shaped turn.

"I am glad that has been dealt with," Guido stated as he gazed upon Ryu. Only the sound of the ship cutting through the sea could be heard, the deck of the ship casually rolling beneath their feet before the larger man took Ryu by the forearm.

"You'll be staying here ..." he began escorting her to the stairs leading below deck.

She nodded in response and left with him, more or less willing as she staggered back into the hallway. "Your welcome," he pulled off his jacket to place it around her shoulders. They could hear people moving about on the deck above them. Shin pointed down the hall.

Obviously Guido had lied about the sleeping arrangements. Ryu had her own quarters and it was only when Shin had not found her that he had begun looking for her though had Guido been patient and waited until most people had gone off to sleep then matters could have been different given that all he had to do was to go to her room.

Shin pulled something out from under his shirt. It was a key bound in a simple piece of cord hanging around his neck. He took it off and handed it over to her, though there had been a bit of hesitation on his part. "Give me your word that your door shall not be barred to me."
