Ruby beamed at her even before she had finished her statement. He voice contained with it a measure of surprise as she regarded Amanda for a moment. "Really? Awesome! I dabble in the alchemical arts too, nothing that has been all too practical as of yet but I've had my fair share of disasters and successes.

"I once brewed an invisibility tonic but the duration was very short lived and I could never really work out the proper modifications to extend the duration, other elixirs had better results mostly minor medicines. It's where I get my knack for cooking from seeing how I spend a good deal of time mixing things up."

Ruby seemed genuinely excited by all of this. "I've met a few people that dabble with the occult but rarely have I come upon those with any love for cooking or those that play around with alchemy."

Aegir read her thoughts in her mind about the pink vials an found it interesting given their results. He did not have to subtly alter brainwaves her but pondered his next move and how to use this, then came up with a solution to his minor dilemia.

Blink blinks at your sudden happyness over her.. natural herbal potions.. she hadnt even Menchen alchemy though she was thinking it. She had learned once that one shouldnt be too.. open about admitting that it was alchemy she was teaching herself.. it had gotton her into trouble with her parents or the other kicthen staff on more then one time.

"Umm.. i didnt say.. umm alchemy.. i said herby drafts.. like.. Natural remendys" she stutters for a moment as she looks away from you.. as she reaches down into her trunk and removes those special viles of hers.. still tightly wraped within the small locked box.. she moves over toward the wardrobe with the intent to place them within.. several different effected potions within the locked small box.

She had jsut met this other girl.. despite what she was going on about.. potions and her attempts.. though she would be lieing to herself if she wasnt intristed in the other girls potion attempts.. but.. after all.. she had just met her.

"But yes.. im taking a cooking class this first year to see if i cant learn about herbs and whatnot and what they might help in my.. draft making.." she hestates for a moment before she speaks.

"No, no you didn't," Ruby affirmed. Sometimes keeping one's cover was difficult when you were a mind reader. "I just assumed that it was one of those arts like that. Only those dedicated to their field of study would go about with a collection of pots and those vials there seem to be wrapped up pretty good and I figured either chemistry or alchemy and I didn't see you unpacking any science texts or cook books for that matter so I deduced that you weren't a cook either and was likely an alchemist and if wrong I figured that you'd only correct me on this error.

"So into pharmacuticals? You know you could make a killing in trade goods here with the other girls if you made them some narcotics. The later, no surprise, is heaped in with typical contraband."

She makes her way back to her chest as you contune to talk to her.. she reaches in and just as soon as you say about her not having any books.. oddly she does pull out a single one.. but its with a pile of notebooks.. most of which she had made all her many of notes.. and copys from the alchemy book she did have at home.. She hadnt brought the real book with her.. cause she was afraid her parents would check her books.. but then again.. really who bothers to check note books when the first few pages where all nothing notes that some would say blonds make.

She shakes her head slightly as she looks back at you after a moment.. "Oh.. its ok.. i do have a few books.. but most of my recipies i write down in my books.. after all.. a true cook.. doesnt go by others work they allready done.. they make it up themselfs."

She brings the books over to the dresser and places them in the top draw.. under some of her more.. lacy undergarments.

She turns back toward you as you talk about making drugs.. eyes widening a bit.. "Umm.. i dont make none of that junk.. or would want to.. one doesnt need those kinda things." she mutters in cold distaste at the other girl for even suggesting she makes that stuff.

"Good, then no worries about prefects finding out and causing all sorts of trouble. After all if they confiscate your stuff then they'll probably take mine too or move me again, either way I don't need the hassel. I'm just saying if you were into that sort of thing you could probably score a lot in the ways of contraband."

Ruby explained to her. She smiled a little. "I do know what you mean about recipes and working on your own. You don't discover anything new without taking a few risks though it is often good to use the works of others as a guideline to see what has been done and how that can be modified to ones ends to make something unique."

She nods a t bit at the other girl as she contunes to take assorted things out of her chest and putting them away.. nothing big to note.. as she puts them away in her dresser or in the wardrobe..

She seems to leave her pot collection within the trunk as she works around them. Taking out a few other things she brings them into the bathroom looking around for another moment before she takes one side of the sinks and lays out her shampoo and whatnot within.. then she comes back to the room and looks around in her chest again.. making sure everything she needs right now is out.. haveing desided it is.. she closes the cover and locks it.. putting the key back onto a chain around her slim neck.

Pushing the 2 mostly empty trunks to the spot in front of the bed she piles them on top of each other before stopping to turn around and look at the room.. "Well.. think im done.." she says after a moment.

"I'd say, at least for the time being." Ruby added. She was still putting a few things away in her dresser then glanced at Amanda. "So, what's so important about the vials that you have wrapped up? Something that you worked on that worked obviously."

Ruby closed the cover to her trunk then, holding an untitled leather bond black book in her hands close to her chest, some of the pages of which had been torn out but still in the book, some pages sticking up and making the pages uneven. Clearly the tome had either been old, abused, or saw a great deal of use or perhaps it was a combination of the three.

She placed the book down next to the others she unpacked before turning her complete attention to her roomie. "I only say so since it's unlikely anyone would keep something that didn't work."

She blinks for a moment as she looks at the other girl.. not overly sure what she ment about at least for the time being.. as far as she did know she was fully unpacked..

"Oh the viles?" though it didnt accord to her.. that she hadnt said thats what they were.. as they had been tightly wraped in a box by themselfs.. but that didnt even cross her mind that you seemed to know..

"Well.. ones to help with healing.. cuts scapes and whatnot... the other one.." she umms a bit.. knowing it was her...lust potion.. sence there was no better name for it... "A purfurm you could say that intices males" though as far as she knew it worked on anyone that smelled it. "And i got a couple of.. other ones.. that arient.. overly special.. just stuff ive saved.. materals you could say" She answers.. though.. a couple of them was.. sencetivty enchanceing potions.. that increased a drinkers sencetive to feelings by allmost 10 times.. just from one little dab to the tounge... She knew.. cause she found it awful hard to wear her undergarments for a few hours cause they kept teaseing her horrably.

Ruby had seemed to make one of her deductions again but she was not asked about it at all so there was no explanation coming from her lips. She simply nodded as she listened to the explanation given to her, then smiled a little.

"I was never good at any of that stuff. My aphrodisiacs failed to work at all despite what I tried. There was a sophomore back in high school I was trying to 'impress' but nothing seemed to work. Healing I've had no success with at all either though I have accomplished a few remarkable things in my day with my tonics. Brief invisibility, levitation, even clumsy flight and some that allow you to converse with animals."

Ruby sat down upon the edge of the bed after sliding the suit case further back on her bed to make space for herself.

Nods softly as she listens to the other girls discriptions of the potions she had made in the past.. she hmms a bit.. of course intrested.. but still warey..oddly cause save foir the drug comments the girl hadnt overly made itself seem wary.

She shrugs a bit as she looks down at her bed.. before back at the door..

"Wonder if i should go get my class lists" she hmms a bit and reaches down picking up her book bag and lays it on the end of the bed as she unzips it to start rumage around within it..

"Dont think i ever got a class list.. think i might need that uh?" she says after a moment of her fiddling... "Yea i dont see it in here.. jsut some notes on about rules and whatnot"

She finally looks up and at you for a few moments.. watching you sit there..

"Suppose i should? Not even sure when class starts to be honest.. though i hurd its normaly a couple days after you get here to get settled in"

"You'd get a schedule in the campus mailbox in about two days, at least I did when I transferred in. In the meantime they expect you to read up on the rules, they're rather strick with them from what I've seen and read though fortunately I haven't had to find out the hard way about any of them.

"I hear rumors that some of the professors can be awfully strict when it comes to enforcing laws and some of the prefects too. I even hear rumors about ... well about places where they have bizarre disciplaray methods but I doubt there's any truth behind them.

"Say, you have a few days before you have to worry about classes, how about brewing something in the meantime?"

Nodding a bit at the other girls words.. thinking it was odd getting something in the mail.. when she had just moved here.. but.. she kinda figured maybe it was some on island mail that would be dilivered that would have her class times on it.

She contunes to look at you.. listening to your talk about the teachers.. "What do you mean about... bazzar punishments? Ruler slapping? My parents despite sending me here wouldnt care for something like that." She gives a bit of a nod.. wondering jsut what kinda punishments the girl was hearing rumors about.

She hmms a bit, before looking back at you again.. "Well... there isnt anything i can make that would be useful right now... But if you think you want to.. feel free.. Im allways open to.. watching new idea's..." She reaches up flicking a strand of her pink hair out of her eyes.. thinking maybe this opened a chance to learn about the others skills at alchemy without.. still letting on thats what she was into.. besides the insistances from the girl that is what she was into..

"Well, from the rumors I've heard more than simple slaps on the wrists with rulers. The tales are pretty far fetched so I dismiss them but students are subjected to all sorts of weird S&B stuff ... I'm not sure how they cover it up but I hear all sorts of strange stuff but nothing that makes much sense." She snorted a bit. "Some girls even talk about, well monsters if you'd imagine that but no one pays any credence to such notions."

Ruby thought a little, considering options. "Pharamacuticals mainly, eh? Well, we can keep it simple with healing draughts and move on to more complicated stuff from there."

She tilts her head in confuseion as the other girl seems to explain what happens for punishments... though she seems more then a bit confused.. considering she grew up in a rich parented life style.

"What do you mean.... S&B stuff? what does that mean?" She asks in question.. more then a bit intrested in knowing what the girl might be taking about... "how would they cover it up if you know about it?" She hmms a bit.

Giving a bit of a shake of her head as she contunes to look at the girl.. she tilts her head in question. She blinks a bit.. her eyes allmost shining in suprise.. "what do you mean Monsters? Like vampires or some such?" she shakes her head.. lost to the idea for potions at the moment.

Ruby chuckled a little and shook her head slightly from side to side. "Umm real kinky sex stuff, bondage and the like but I figured that all the rumors must have started with the upper classman to get their laughs in at freshmen and transfer students.

"Like the stuff about monsters ... yeah, vampires and ghouls and other sorts of stuff, somethings that some of the girls mention are new, nothing I've heard of anyway and I got a pretty good knowledge of the mythological. But the tales are pretty far fetched and always wind up with a girl or girls having sex with the monster, it's like they circulate such nonsense, see who's gullible and probably work their pranks on them. So far I've avoided all that stuff though it is just a small number of girls spreading this wild rumors so if you hear anything your probably best dismissing it off hand."
