The woman's emotions kept shifting with each response Vera gave. This only showed how focused her new Prefect was in trying to please her. Though hopefully this does not lead to a stream of constant second guessing and a lack of confidence. But such concerns were useless to think about. Pushing the matter would only make Leriana more nervous. The Head Girl will just leave things to develop naturally before attempting to mold this woman into her own image.

It took a little bit of effort to not giggle at the question her Prefect asked. She was uncertain if this woman was even aware of the monsters on this island. But the question was just worded in such a way that brought amusement to the Head Girl. Of course with her experience she had tried many different types of sausage. "I can't say that I have or at least not a variety. I usually only make what is quickly available to me. Occasionally I have had others cook for me." She Replied.

Leriana hadn't yet been introduced to the monsters that inhabited Shokushu, and she could react only with puzzlement as it seemed as if Vera was holding back giggles. She herself couldn't really understand what was so funny about her question ... but the prefect wasn't about to question Vera's sense of humour.

Leriana nodded at the response, taking a sip of tea before asking I heard that you had another student here cooking for you for a while ... Cala I think was the name. She started to glance around before stopping and blushing slightly at her own foolishness at looking around as if she might appear like magic. She couldn't remember seeing any signs of another student before and it was stupid to assume that they would appear now. Leriana would have also revealed that she kept track of the rumours and gossip that spread around Shokushu, although considering the amount of infractions she had recorded and passed on to Vera that much should of been obvious.

Vera sipped her tea as Leriana decided to pry a little. "I suppose I cannot fault you for trying to find information on me but do not pry too much," she replied calmly, "That would just be rude. But yes, Cala is currently in training and is currently unavailable as well as my other Prefects. Unlike some Prefects, I do not invite troublemakers to use my kitchen." Being a Head Girl, it was obvious she had her own network of eyes and ears to occasionally check up on things. Usually she limited such spying on her own Prefects to ensure loyalty. So she was well aware of Prefects taking bribes of servitude in order to leave out a few demerits on certain students. Not the most ethical of setups but it adds to the function of the whole Prefect/Head Girl enforcement.

"I do not mind it, I will eat what is necessary and continue my duties just as any Head Girl should," she continued, "Tell me more about yourself Leriana. I prefer to know more than just slips of paper about you." Vera ate quietly to see what sort of information or topic her Prefect wished to speak about. For now, this was her time to relax after sitting at her desk for majority of the day.

Leriana nods when Vera tells her not to pry, and for a brief moment there is a smirk when Vera points out that she knows about Alisha. If you are referring to Alisha than she's done a lot of work and has shown remarkable improvements since before I took her in.

When Vera continued and asked Leriana to talk about herself she blushed again for a moment before taking a sip of the tea and starting to talk. She had no idea what part of her life Vera was interested in, and decided to just give a general run down. Well I grew up in Australia, Sydney on the East coast to be a bit more precise. Spent my life in an orphanage, and the first people who were ever nice to me was a student teacher at primary school. Since she had been so nice and friendly it made sense to push myself and do well in class, since she seemed to be delighted when I did so. I only knew her for two months, but ever since I've always found it easier to get along with teachers than my 'peers'. Especially in a school where 90% of the students have no interest in being there and tear into anyone who isn't part of their group, or starts to excel. When I was nearing the end of my primary school there was an election among our year level for the school captain. Well two elections, one boy and one girl. I worked hard, and while getting the teachers nomination was easy I barely managed to get the students votes. But I got the position, and that last year was amazing.

Leriana paused to take a bite from her meal, as well as give Vera a chance to ask any questions or comment on what she had just said.

"I was not referring to anyone," she said simply. Vera did not know the details, she just knew how Prefects worked when given power. Perhaps she will look up this Alisha at a later date. As long as the woman was improving, she saw no reason to pass any further judgement. A Head Girl is supposed to maintain order, not create further chaos. Some conflicts are not worth the effort when there is little to nothing to gain.

Leriana seemed a bit nervous about talking to herself. It was not like Vera was searching for flaws. She was merely closing some of the boundaries between the two of them. If this was to be her Prefect, then she will make some effort to make this woman hers. The student's past seemed to revolve around the first teacher she met or was at least nice to her. Was this all that drove this woman to excel? Furthermore, the woman had a short history of climbing the ladder in her past school. It was something to note as she did have a newer Prefect who had similar goals.

"I see," she replied, "But what creates that drive now? It is not like that student teacher is watching over you now nor is she here to give you any praise. Was your time as captain what made you want to become a Prefect in the first place? And will you be striving higher, such as my position?" Vera smiled softly, meaning no hostility. She was merely picking at the woman's brain to see what all she could learn. With her empathic abilities, it was much easier to learn about students when they were forced to think or react to various questions.

Leriana couldn't help but flush in embarrassment when Vera revealed that she wasn't talking about Alisha, a 'whoops' spreading through her mind at her own rapid defense of her actions. Leriana did manage to recover quickly from her embarrassment, but she had completely failed at hiding it. Even ignoring the fact the head girl in front of her was an empath.

Leriana listened carefully as Vera questioned her story, using the chance to eat and take a quick drink. She waited until she was sure Vera was finished before speaking again, wanting to answer each question in turn. What drives me now? Teachers were, at least until I came here, the only people who seemed to genuinely care about me and my well being ... to everyone else I was just a parent-less waste. I suppose it sounds slightly silly, but I've always wanted to give something back. And the main thing that teachers seem to like is when a student does their work well. And so I did.

Leriana paused to take a sip of her tea before continuing. School captain, in both primary and high school, was just another way I saw to help get the teachers like me. And being a prefect is the same. As for being a head girl ... For a moment her mask completely shatters at the thought. Even without empathy it's easy to see the shiver of glee that she feels at such a thought. That would be amazing.

It's pretty clear that Leriana knows absolutely nothing about Shokushu, and holds the teachers and other staff in such high regard she could be dangerous. But if handled properly it should be possible to direct that loyalty to the head girls, or Vera in particular.

It was amusing watching Leriana squirm from her mistakes. The Head Girl was experienced in getting information in her own little ways as she just showed. But once the woman recovered, she moved on to Vera's other questions. This woman was a rarity in how devoted she was to the school system and heirarchy. She also showed a great interest in climbing up the ranks. A pity the woman did not know that a Head Girl has no direct control over anything much like a School Captain. If this woman was to become a Head Girl, encountering monsters or worse would be inevitable.

But the woman's naive devotion did have some perks to it. Just depended on how Vera chose to tap into such potential. "Another of my Prefects has a similar interest in my position," she said calmly, "But like her, you have a long ladder to climb before ever reaching me or Katya. Head Girls are not exactly like your School Captains. They are not picked by the students but by the Headmasters themself. They are not easy to impress but continue to excel and devote yourself to your duties and perhaps you will bring a few eyes to you and your record. Sometimes Head Girls may have some say as well."

She teased the final part in just to ensure Leriana did not try anything drastic like try to overthrow her. But she doubt such a thing was possible in this woman. Though this may help guide Leriana's devotion towards her and away from Katya. Working closer together, it would be more her say on whether this woman was worthy or not. Assuming that the Headmasters actually ask her opinion on the matter.

Leriana nodded at the information Vera provided, although there was little new to her. She knew what she had to do, and the thought of who she had to impress. And to her it just made the position all the more desirable. She still saw the Headmasters as teachers, and that meant getting their approval and keeping them as happy about her as possible was important. The fact that students had no say in who was a Head Girl and who wasn't just made everything all the more desirable. Leriana was finally a school where she didn't have to suck up to and woo the majority of students to get the teachers praise, and she loved it.

Leriana, of course, had no intention of trying to replace any of the current Head Girls. To her they were the closes a student could be to being a teacher, and she considered them on another social tier above her. Vera had told her about politics amongst the Head Girls, and Leriana assumed that she would be embroiled in the same amongst the other prefects ... especially Vera's. But she would never even dream of pushing a Head Girl out of her place, and no doubt would react very badly to any accusation that she would do so.

Thank you Miss Matsumoto. I'll do my best to prove myself. Leriana's words were simple, but even without empathy it was easy to see she meant them from the core of her soul. She would do anything for teachers praise ... or, for that matter, a Head Girls.

"Very good," she replied as she finished her meal. Unless there was something else to discuss, the rest of their dinner together was in silence. The Head Girl wiped her mouth with her napkin and sets it on top of her plate before pushing it away. There was no doubt that Leriana would do her best. It was just a matter of how far this one would go. Though part of her knew that Leriana would gladly do anything for a Head Girl just from being with Katya, Vera preferred to take it slow. There was still the matter of never encountering monsters. While its possible for a Prefect to be ignorant, she could only hope that matter would solve itself in time.

For now, Vera sipped her tea and waited. She was uncertain if she would have to request her Prefect to handle the dishes or not. Soon her tea would be set back onto the tray as well before she rose to her feet. The Head Girl stretched her back, sighing softly. She still needed to file Leriana's report before taking a shower. Being a Head Girl was busy work as always.

As the two ate in silence Leriana considered telling Vera about what had happened in high school, and the teacher who had discovered that Leriana was quite willing and happy to do anything to get in her teachers 'good books'. But all that was on her file, and so she decided not to risk boring Vera with information the white haired head girl already knew.

When the two finished Leriana sat patiently as Vera finished off the last of her tea, instantly rising to her feet and gathering what was left of the dishes on the tray and taking it off into the kitchen. She quickly got to work washing them, as well as the various dishes she had used to cook. Vera was a busy girl after all, and no-one liked doing dishes. Which meant it was only fair that Leriana did what she could to ensure that Vera did not have to do a time consuming and thankless task.

When she finished washing the dishes she walked back into the main room, glancing around to see if there was anything else obvious that she could do to help Vera, as well as see if Vera was still working or had since started taking her shower.

She knew some from what she read from Leriana's file. But that did not mean she was just going to leap onto such vulnerbilities and start making demands. Vera did not want a doll. She wanted someone who truly wished to do such things for her. Call her picky but she did have certain preferences in her servants and slaves. Unfortunately, being led by a leash seemed to be completely ingrained into the woman's being. Perhaps a bit of compromise was in order.

When Leriana returned from cleaning, Vera would be at her desk filing and typing away as usual. At first, the Head Girl would say nothing until her Prefect was fully in the room. "You have been doing well," she said calmly, "You follow orders but you are still lacking in your ability to think for yourself. If you became a Head Girl, the Headmasters would grow tired of you quickly if you kept calling to second check any choices you wanted to make. But I understand from your past that this is difficult. So I shall indulge you. Prepare a bath for me. From there, you are free to do as you wish whether it be return to your room or otherwise." She would not add any further details and return to doing last minute things for the night. Usually she showered as that was quicker but a hot bath sounded nice to rest her weary body.

Leriana nodded as Vera talked, taking the criticism and order for her to be more independent and think for herself. She filed that particular fact away, planning to try and be as independent as possible. Thank you Miss Matsumoto. At once. she bowed briefly when Vera finished talking, walking into the bathroom and starting to fill the bath. She did her best to get it a nice pleasant warm temperature, not sure if Vera preferred her bath hotter or colder and having just been told to act independently not wanting to disturb you.

She filled the bath, searching the bathroom for any soaps or other products that Vera might wish to use and placing them next to the bath. When that was done she stepped out of the bathroom. Your bath is ready Miss Matsumoto. She smiled at Vera as her eyes raced around the room, trying to spot if Vera had any laundry that needed doing.

Vera finished her work before finally leaving her desk for the night. She smoothed her uniform out of habit and adjusted her sash before making her way towards the prepared bath. Fingers were already undoing the buttons of her blouse, revealing her fair skin and cleavage contained with a white bra. Once inside the bathroom, she would strip entirely, leaving behind her discarded garments as she lowered herself into the warm waters. A soft sigh would leave her lips. With Leriana searching her room for more to do, the Head Girl began to wash her hair and body.

Besides the now removed uniform, the rest of her dirty clothes were all in a laundry basket. Though this was a suite, laundry was still done in a separate room. Of course such a task was left to servants but Vera was lacking those at the moment. Despite the lack of help, the Head Girl's room was very well kept. It was not perfect as that would take too much time but it was at least presentable to visitors. While Leriana searched, Vera allowed herself to relax, eyes closing as she enjoyed the warmth of her bath.

Leriana quietly collected the now discarded uniform, taking it to the laundry basket and putting it in with the other clothes. She searched quickly, finding something appropriate for Vera to put on when she emerged from her bath and leaving it hanging neatly next to the door, loathe to disturb Vera when the head girl was naked. More out of not knowing how Vera would react than anything else. Only when that was done did she do one last sweep of the suite, searching for any discarded dirty clothes. She didn't find any, but she could see the not so obvious signs that while this room was kept presentable it wasn't perfectly clean like Alisha kept Leri's rooms.

Leriana thought as she went through the motions to get all of Vera's washing done, mind racing down a variety of paths as she tried to analyze what she had learnt of Vera, and determine how she was expected to act. As well as trying to work out any things she could do to push her 'above and beyond' what was expected.

As soon as the washing was done she would carry it back to Vera's room, working quickly to fold and put away everything. Next she started to clean, working hard to put her Head Girl's room into immaculate condition.

The Head Girl had a luxurious wardrobe. Leriana would find some already clean uniforms as well various business and dress attire. For nightgowns, most were of fine fabrics that would reveal the curves of Vera's lovely form but still keep her covered. She was to be appealing for monster and headmasters. Besides, she was not one to ignore her own beauty. Vera could sense when Leriana entered and left the room both when taking her uniform and replacing it with a nightgown to sleep in.

The Prefect was given time to perform as much work as possible before finally hearing Vera's voice in the other room. "Leriana, bring me a towel please," she requested. The Head Girl would pull the plug on the drain and rise to her feet, allowing the water to run down her now glistening body. She would step out and accept the towel, showing no issues of her bare nudity before the new Prefect. Sighing softly, she dried herself off and wrapped it around her body. "Hmm... It is getting late. Do you feel comfortable going back to your dorm this late at night or would you prefer to spend the night here with me?" Vera held out a brush to Leriana, expecting her to take it and the hint involved with it. She would face the mirror, waiting for her long silver hair to be tended to.
