Aegir was quite bored as usual. The minds he had consumed in the past streamed through his head in tidd bits of stories but seeing how he had an eidetic mind these memories did not entertain him since they had all been knew to him. He had even past up a chance at a little fun earlier as one of the girls jogged beneath the him on the hiking trail beneath him.

How boring a simple snatch and grab became though sometimes it could be rewarding. Sometimes. But he allowed the jogger to pass by without any hindrance, she would never be aware how close she came to averting danger that day.

But as a calm breeze fanned over his now brown flesh he had begun to think creatively, something that he rarely did but had been happening more and more as of late. This was due to the minds he had assimilated having an affect on him since his kind wasn't too creative. But never the less he came up with an idea to kill some time, he just needed a victim.

One had not instantly appeared, he had spent some time listening with his mind to the brainwaves that had been out there but when he found two nearby he stopped, his mind rummaging through the memories that had formed within them.

He was busy scanning their surface thoughts ... one was hurt ... so he determined that they were vulnerable.

"...How ... how much further?" Liz asked, her arm draped around Yolia's neck. Her right knee was scrapped up pretty bad, the blood on it had dried though it was the nasty, purplish bruise around the ankle that was a bigger concern.

Being new on the island was tough and not having a lot of friends in school made things even rougher for the young student, but recently yolia has met some other intresting students who have been willing to "hang out" with her after school hours.

It was a nice sunny day, so yolia had the idea of her new friend Liz could go out joging together, since training was somthing Yolia enjoyed and Liz kinda need to get out more.

Afther Yolia got out of her last period scince class, she rushed home and quickly changed out ofher her school uniform to somthing more confertable. Yolia had changed into her favorite pair of sandex joging shorts and the bright red sports bra, beforheading out to meet up with liz at the joging trail.

It was funny to see Liz's face when yolia had shown up in her training cloths and afther a few minutes of joking around the pair set out on the jogging trail.

Afther roughly an hour of jogg/walking, they both stopped to mainly let liz take a breather for a little bit. Sitting deep in the out doors area they both chatted for a bit tellng jokes and many gossiping. One thing led to another and liz asked yolia to show of some of her kick boxing skills, she picked up from her uncle. Then it all went down hit when Liz tried to copy one Yolia's moves and got her self hurt kicking a the side of a tree incredibly hard bruising and scuffing her right leg up. Thinking her friends injuri might be serious yolia quickly tried to her liz back to the school were she could liz some help.

"just a little farther Liz."

Yolia held tightly onto her friendt as she helped Liz limp along the jogging trail. Liz's right knee was scuffed up pretty bad, leaving a nasty purple bruise. Yolia could not help but feel guilty, imagining this was partly her fault forcing liz to come out here with her. Yolia could only hope that every thing would be ok and that there would be no more suprises today.

Aegir calculated his next move in his head, the pair were distant enough where he had time to slid out of the tree branches to the forest floor below. He could have easily waited for them to travel along the hiking trail and descent upon them from above but since he was a bit bored with the usual he had other ideas.

The presence of the two were becoming stronger now and while he was slow moving that was negated by the fact that neither girl seemed to be going too fast at this stage. He did slither across the ground towards a cave set in the side of the hills, he could still glimpse portions of the road through the brush though his pigment altered now to a deep green to better blend in with his surroundings. Now he would have to wait but it was not long before a portion of his mind reached out into the two girls, altering their senses so that they would hear, see and feel his illusions, even taste if appropriate.

When he glimpsed the two he began. Show time.

"Jess, it's just a little further now. I'll leave you at the cave and go get help, it won't be long." A young voice spoke as up ahead there was some rustling off the path of the road. One girl, Jess, probably, had her arm around a taller blue haired girl with glasses. Hardly more than the seditary type it seemed. The smaller girl, Jess, had flame red hair and looked far more athletic than the other. Whereas the blue haired girl was still wearing her school uniform the other was adorned in shorts and a white t-shirt riddled with recent sweat stains. She was wearing a red bandana too and a pair of wrist bands.

Yolia helped her hurt friend limp and long the path. Liz knee was getting bad and Yolia hoped to get her back to the campas as quickly as possible. It wasent just becuse of her friend being hurt but something just dident sit well with yoila in these woods, she just could not put her fanger on it. It was slowly getting dark and yolia just dident want to be here.

"Dont worrie liz ill get to back to campas soon."

Afther a few momments of liz's and Yolia's slow walk down the rocky path, Yolia heard some rusling up ahead that at scared Yolia slightly caseing her to jump and almost lose her balance with liz and fall down, but she managed to stay standing.

Yolia gave a sigh of relife seeing it was just other students up ahead in front of a cave. Yolia continued to help her friend as she waved and yelled trying to get there attention, and mybe get some help.

"HEY!!.. MY FRIENDS HURT!!"

Yolia waved her free arm at the other students up ahead, and continued to help liz limp in their direction.

Two pairs of eyes strained from where they were to her, casting a glance through the vegetation. When they had seen the pair the two began chatting in low tones with one another. The blue haired girl set the red head down so she was seated on the ground before she hurried forward.

She gazed at them behind a pair of glasses that she pushed back into place on her face. Her hair was long and braided into a pony tail that flickered this way and that as she jogged forward. She did stop short, her eyes washing over Liz quickly as her mind appraised the changing situation.

"Right." She stated affirmly to herself. "Up ahead is a cave. A girl was hurt, fortunately I was around but I thought it best to store her at the cave then go back for assistance since it would be much quicker that way and we could get help before dark. I've heard stories that these woods aren't too safe after sunset. We can store your friend there, one of us can stay and comfort them, the other can go and get help. Come on, we don't have much time."

The girl didn't wait but simply jogged back to her friend/companion/whatever and began helping her back up to her feet.

It was difficult for liz and Yolia to see the pair up ahead through the brush, but Yolia continued to wave in their genral direction finnly getting their attention. Their were two other girls it seemed, and one appeared to be hurt and was being help by the blue haired girl.

"I think one is coming down liz ?"

Yolia waited as she saw the blued haired girl approch her and liz. jogging twords them both befor stoping short. Yolia noticed how the blue haired girl looked liz over, from behind her glasses. Yolia staired at her back and held tightly onto Liz's arm, trying to keep her friend suported as she listen to the girl speak.

" So Your friend is hurt too?, I guess Ill take liz up to that cave too and go with you back to campas and get help, I dont want to be out here afther dark either."

Yolia and liz began to make their way up the cave behind the blue haired girl as she jogged up ahead, not waiting for Yolia and liz. once Yolia and liz got to the cave entrace, yolia carfuly sat her friend down inside, near the entrance.

The cave was spacious, perhaps as deep as a typical house. By this stage Jess was alredy sitting down and the blue haired girl was in the process of heading back out of the cave to assist her with Liz. Between the pair though they got her situated easily enough, the two getting ready to head back to the campus.

"Sit tight, Jess, I'll be back before you know it."

She turned to Yolia. "Let's go." She seemed a little anxious giving the situation at hand. But she also seemed to be the take charge sort that simply dealt with things with logic and what seemed best. They made their way along a path and hadn't managed to get too far when they heard a horn blasting in the distance. It sounded again and in that direction she could hear a series of raised voices. It went quiet soon thereafter though.

Yolia helped liz inside of the cave and carfuly sat her friend down. noticing how spacious it was. Yolia could not help but think it might be kind of nice to come back and turn it into a neat little hang out afther this ordeal is over but this was not the time for deciration ideas, Yolia and the new girl had to hurry back to campus befor night fall.

"you too lizz, you both sit tight, we will be back soon."

Yolia saw the girl turn to her and let her know she was ready to go. Yolia amired how she took charge in this situation, but noticing how anxious the girl was some what disturbed yolia at the same time.

"Ok lets go"

Yolia and the other girl quickly took of along the path back to campus. Not long afther leaving Yolia heard the loud sound of a horn off in the distance casing her to stop and look in the direction the sound was came from.

"Wait...what was that?"

Yolia stopped dead in her tracks letting her ceriosity get the better of her. hearing raising voices come from its genral direction Yolia waited to see who or what it was, mybe it was some one who could help.

"I, I don;t know," the other girl canted her head in the direction of the sound or what she perceived it to come from. Listening there seemed to be some noise in that direction, some cheering then the sounds of something large, the sound of movement that she could only consider that of horses moving closer together. A thwak, as if something smashed with metal, the sound of a metal object falling to the ground and the snapping of a branch or stick of some sort.

There was another cheer, something that was said though the actual words could not be determined as something a small moment later something moved closer to where she was, a horse trotting forward perhaps.

Yolia was unsure what to do atthis momment. on one hand her friend needed her help but somehing strange and intresting was going, not to far away from were she was standing, but knowing this island rushing off into the unknown was just stupid. so yolia decided getting away from here was the best idea.

Yolia turned to look at the other girl with her. "I think we should keep moving. Helping liz and your friend is more important right now." Yolia waited to see what the other girh thought, getting some what nervous as the sounds of cheer get louder and closer only causing yolia to feel on edge.

"Right," she answered with a nod. Then they saw it, two large figures breaking through a line of trees. One was blinding to look at initially, the other adorned in strange leather garments. Both figures were on horse back, the shiny one was on a larger, muscular steed. The other was on a smaller one.

As she was able to see the shiny one a bit better by shading her eyes Yolia would notice that the figure was adorned in armor. Black plates in fact. The reins of his horse, covered in barding as well, had been in his shielded hand though the heraldry on the shield was too distant to read from where she was.

A sword rested at his hip and in his other hand he carried a lance, the point of which had been pointed towards the heavens. He may not have seen them yet as the speed of his horse was a mere trot and had not increased any though he had been traveling in their direction.

"OH my ..." her companion gasped looking in their direction.

Yolia looked in the direction of the to large figures move twords their direction. The young student was un sure of what she looking at."What is that?" Yolia looked some what confused as A man in black plate armro riding a horse was now some what visable. Frozen,Yolia only stude their, not sure what to do next. She was not sure to ethier run away or ask the "Knight" for help with her friends, butin the back of yolias head it was scream, telling her to run away. Only taking a few steps back yolia stared in the direction of the black plated figure and his compaion, nervously.

"I don't know ..." the blue haired girl answered as she gazed at the two astride their horses, They had pulled alongside one another now and she guessed that one if not both of them say them now. They had been exposed being out in the opened as they were and thus when the order to run came in she froze. The logical portion of her mind telling her that there was no way she could out tun a steed in the open. Maybe if she could get to the forest but that was behind the two figures and thus she had to pass them to have a chance, And that was the area that they heard the sounds coming from too so it was probably unsafe,

The smaller of the two figures broke away, galloping in their direction. The armored knight still trotted forward though not as fast as the smaller horse. It became apparent rather quickly that eluding the rider was next to impossible which left only a few options.

But the man closed. He appeared to be fairly young, maybe in his early teens, Outside of a dagger and a short sword he was unarmed though there were a series of weapons on the horse. A lance, a spear, a broad sword to name a few of the things that Yolia could see.

"Hail ..." he shouted out to them as he tossed up a hand as if in greeting to further get their attention.

Yolia was frozen in pace unsure what to do next. running wasent an option and even if she could they were out in the open with the closet coverd area was passed the two on the horses, they were both simpley traped. Yolia nervously watched the men closly as thet approched closer and closer each seciond. In fear yolia backed away to only trip on something, falling backwards onto the ground.

Yolia soon saw that the man on the smaller horse was some what young in his teens, whitch was strange, yolia thought since this was an all girl school. The young man quickly aporched and waved in Yolia's and the blue haired girls direction. Yolia dident know what "hail" ment but she assumed it ment hi so Yolia layed back on the ground, nervously smiled and laughed, waving back at the young man. "ahaha! Hi!"

The young man seemed confused by the laugh as the blue haired girl now helped the other up to her feet. He seemed to analysis things in his head before speaking once more. His voice deep as he spoke. "Prithee, what are you two lovely young lasses doing out here? It is much too dangerous with the dragon layering near here."

He looked away briefly in the direction that the two had come from before glancing back at them. "You have not seen any signs of it? Or heard it? Very unusual ..."

The last part seemed to be spoken to himself as the heavier fellow slowly moved up to them. "Your majesty, what are you doing her without your escort?"

"Your majesty?" The smaller one looked confused for a second before dismounting like the other knealing before the pair of them, bowing their heads.

"Magesties I should say," the knight revealed to his younger companion or at least the other sounded younger than the knight who had a deeper voice. He was now busy removing his helmet and holding it against his chest, his gaze cast downward as he did so.
