Lapina took a long sigh as she was seated on a lounge chair, the young Rabbit having gotten a lucky holiday break on this resort world, wearing a simple Pink Bikini as she laid by the pool watching many people walk past most giving her looks as she took them all in pride, having been a sexy thing.

The resort world called Taorata was mostly a Jungle and Ocean world, but some colonists had built a good resort nearby one of the beaches which had become a popular attraction for holiday users, from Slavers, to Mercenaries to just normal people taking breaks from work.

Lapina was a sort of kind, a small time mercenary and treasure hunter, she mostly explored the worlds to enjoy herself, having come to this resort for a quick break before continuing on, as she breathed softly and deeply enjoying the peace and quiet.

Unknown to her or the other party goers, trouble was on the way...

It was precisely because of the combination of jungle and oceanic terrain, along with the fact that there was a variety of unique conditions that Dr. Steiner felt that Taorata would serve as a perfect environment with which to conduct a field test. Accompanied by a cadre of mercenaries for her protection, the doctor had disembarked from the station with a cargo full of Harvesters, all of which whose growth potential had been stunted but still possessed the ability to experience changes within themselves. She had no desire to create a Hive World at all. Or at least, yet.

It had been several days since the ship had landed, its cargo hold emptied. Several days, there had been only random disappearances from among the temporary residents of this 'resort world', women disappearing when there was no one to see them, captured and taken away to the cargo ship which they 'saw' as their colony. In a way, it was to be the first of the station's female population that would see to the Harvesters' need.

It was twisted irony that the Harvesters were now harvesting this world in order to maintain their pseudo-colony's needs. All the same, Dr. Steiner was watching from the comfort of her ship as long-range scanners and field cambots recorded the progress of the Harvesters. And it was precisely now that the Harvesters had begun their invasion of the main resort where most of the people were now. Predictably, the doctor chuckled as she thought to herself, there was already widespread panic as Harvesters struck, attacking indiscriminately and capturing females. Before long, the situation was fast growing out of control for the resort as invaders moved in deeper and deeper, led by waves of Raiders and Warriors, with special Harvesters mixed in between.

Lapina's ears twitched as she heard screams of panic and sighed, "oh what now?" She muttered sitting up and got off of her beach chair and looked over a Balcony and widened her eyes.

"Oh shit.." She muttered seeing the Harvesters attacking the other resorters knocking away any meals and captured females.

Lapina quickly headed inside the resort jumping over some falling luggage carriages as she headed upstairs to her hotel room quickly and shut the door locking it first and quickly headed to the drawers.

"Okay looks like I got some action after all, what a vacation," She muttered as she kept her Bikini on with no real need to change for now, as she put on her gun holsters and brought out her twin laser pistols putting them fully charged and loaded inside and nodded before she sighed deeply brushing some of her hair out of her faces way.

"Well time to work," She said as she unlocked her door and stepped out carefully heading to another Balcony and saw the carnage before jumping down using her powerful rabbit like legs to hop from balcony to balcony on the way down.

Most of the Warriors were already hard at work, swarming against visiting mercenaries and pirates, along with the resort's own security as they tried to hold back the onslaught, already somewhat scattered by the waves of Raiders that had forced them to fall back again and again before the creatures finally fell against the people's weaponry.

Even then, the Warriors were not faring much better, and the doctor was beginning to see that these lifeforms were certainly much more suited to colony life rather than for external activities. It was then that she suspected that invasions were more suited to other strains of Harvesters, or that the Harvesters had different means of doing so rather than throwing themselves at enemies.

Still, it did appear that given sufficient time to coordinate together allowed defending forces to hold back against the Harvesters, a clear contrast to the case of the Pandora, where the close confines of the ship as well as its multitude of vents and pipes allowed the Harvesters a clear advantage against the crew. It was then that she watched as three of the Hivers, more advanced lifeforms, began to move in. They were rather large targets for the defenders, but their armored hide enabled them to keep moving against the enemy's gunfire.

Before anyone knew it, the armored backs of the Hivers burst as fissures appeared in them, releasing hundreds upon hundreds of insect-sized Harvesters, buzzing angrily as they swarmed over the makeshift defenses the men had set up, attacking with their stingers and leaving behind convulsing bodies that eventually became still as they were paralyzed by the Harvesters' poison. The doctor chuckled as she saw one of her theories proven. The Hivers were clearly well suited for protecting colonies and attacking enemies, even as far as aiding in capturing women as they too were attacked by the swarms of wasp-like Harvesters.

Lapina landed in a crouch as she watched the fighting happen, the men having held off the creatures till the big hulking ones brought in those weird bugs.

"Hmm looks like we need some work after all," Lapina muttered bringing out her twin pistols and carefully took aim at the back of one of the harvesters and fired a quick burst of Laser bullets at the hide peppering it, whether it go through or not didn't matter, Lapina then smelled something and quickly sniffed one of her arms and flinched.

"Ah crap I forgot to put on a fresh batch of my perfume," She growled...and that would cause trouble...cause anything with an above Human sense of smell easily picked up a huge amount of high powered Pheromones...coming from her position as she gulped.

The swarms continued to attack unabated, their numbers rapidly growing as more and more came from within the Hivers. It was not difficult to believe that their numbers were now within the thousands, the air heavy with their constant buzzing. In a way, it was yet another niche that the Hivers filled, that of screening. With the swarms on the move, much of the defenders' attention were turned upon them as they tried to fight off the vast numbers of tiny Harvesters, their numbers dwindling fast.

A long appendage suddenly wrapped around Lapina's hand, jerking her to the side as a spider-like Harvester, like the one aboard the Pandora, snarled at her from its position, nearly well over fifty feet away. With superior senses, it had detected something far too appealing to allow free, and had focused its attention upon its new target, that of Lapina herself. A quick glance would show that beyond the Harvester, there were two more approaching their position, sensing the pheromones that she was giving off. At the same time, some of the swarm began to divert itself, buzzing angrily toward Lapina as others began to follow.

"Crap, gotta move!" She said and not taking a chance used her slightly more rabbit teeth and bit into the appendage wrapping around her hand to try and make the thing let go as she saw some of the swarm approaching and fired two quick shots before she jumped into some of the foliage and began running fast away from the resort towards the more jungle area using trees and branches to jump to and from to make a quick distance away glancing behind her every few seconds just incase as she kept moving.

Gotta get to the spaceport..get outta here Was her main thoughts, she knew her Pheromones would be like a big burning trail to follow and couldn't stop.

The Harvesters, true to her thinking, had indeed remained on track as they chased her, their numbers steadily growing as they detected her pheromones. Both unsuited and unaccustomed to the jungles so far, the Harvesters were just only able to follow the trail of her pheromones, allowing her to stay ahead of them. Though, it was almost pointless as her pheromones would always lead them to her, unless she was able to erase them somehow.

A large explosion could be seen from distance, followed by some considerable tremors from the shock waves along with a bellowing roar. At the spaceport, the powerful Thrasher taken in by Dr. Steiner had finally appeared, wrecking destruction and carnage that few others could only dream of causing with a squadron of heavily armed vehicles at their command. There was, however, a ship near the girl's location, on the top of a building, along with several men standing guard there. None of the Harvesters appeared to be approaching the area, for some reason.

Lapina continued moving not stopping for a moment and soon noticed the spaceport being torn apart and flinched.

"Gotta move!" She said as she headed towards it fast drawing her guns and fired at the Thrasher quickly while moving as she glanced at the spaceship left alone and narrowed her eyes.

Her own special Pheromones where slowly slipping everywhere nearby and anything with above human nose could smell her sweet intoxicating aroma.

The gunfire did little against the incredibly resilient armored hide of the Thrasher, all but indestructible at this point from going through various conflicts and skirmishes and coming out as the clear victor. It was also a far cry from the Thrasher it used to be, one that had chased Minerva through the Pandora, as it was now a fully developed adult and even then, it was still growing bigger and bigger, its girth easily larger than that of a battle tank, and being close to a hundred meters long. Even the legs were heavily armored and its soft underbelly quite toughened by now.

Yes, it was most certainly Dr. Steiner's 'baby', her most favored among the Harvesters. Unlike any other Harvesters, it was not stunted at all and could continue to grow stronger and stronger the longer it lived, and the more Harvesters it feasted upon, the larger it grew, a cruel mockery of self-improvement that relied upon cannibalism. It did, however, lack the harvesting instincts of others and only sought to destroy all that held threat against it. Thus, the gunfire drew its attention, instead of the pheromones which did nothing to it.

Turning toward the considerably smaller enemy, the Thrasher stared down at Lapina before ignoring her only to clamp its mandibles onto another fleeing ship, tearing out a chunk of it and sending the vehicle crashing into the ground, another explosion shaking the spaceport. And from behind her, the Harvesters continued to chase after her, their numbers still growing as the buzzing grew louder and louder.

Lapina growled before she fingered a special incendary grenade she had and activating it and tossed it at the thrasher if it connected it would spill oil fueled flames on the beast as the fired at the other Harvesters approaching her from behind.

"I gotta get to my ship," She growled and bringing out a small almost key pressed a button making a cute blink blink noise like a car key would.

A distance away a Heavy Class Anubis fighter began taking off on it's own and floated a small distance from the spaceport and began firing at the Thrasher.

Any other Harvester, and the incendiary grenade would have inflicted horrible damage on the creature, and the flames would surely have finished it off. The Thrasher, however, was not that easily harmed. Natural armor made harder and virtually impervious to all sorts of damage had given it a much greater degree of both resistance and resiliency against most anything. Ignoring the growing fire, the Thrasher moved through it, picking up another chunk of a destroyed ship and threw it at the fighter that had begun firing at it from beyond the Harvester's reach.

And from behind, a loud roar echoed as one of the Harvesters finally caught up to the pheromone-spilling female, sprinting hard toward Lapina with the intent to capture her and ravish her silly. It was then cut down by a hail of armor-piercing gunfire from several mercenaries, who proceed to lay down suppressing fire at the rest of the oncoming Harvesters. "Need help, lady?" One of the masked soldiers spoke as he took up position near Lapina, "This place ain't safe, y'know!?"

The Fighter avoided the thrown ship and moved out of range for safety as Lapina noticed the Mercenaries taking positions near her before drawing her guns and shooting at the harvesters rapidly.

"Thanks for the help," Lapina said and began a slow backward movement while shooting so she didn't get closed in on by the Harvesters

Getting only a nod from one of the mercenaries, Lapina was quickly joined by more of them as they took up positions and kept on attacking with the hopes of slowing down the Harvesters. Before long, the Harvesters eventually began to swarm closer and closer as the mercenaries kept on falling back step by step. It wasn't long before the swarms of tiny Harvesters finally arrived, but the mercenaries showed no fear as two among them switched to different weapons and began spraying flames in front of the group, keeping the swarms at bay.

Upon one of them yelling out orders, one of the mercenaries moved to Lapina, grabbing her and pushing her onto his shoulder, and began withdrawing as his comrades covered their retreat. The mercenary made a mad dash for the ship they had come in on, arriving at the landing pad quickly and scrambling up the stairs. Soon, the mercenary arrived at the ship and finally allowed Lapina back down, hitting the button to open the ship's side entrance as the other mercenaries soon joined them, with more Harvesters still approaching. "Get in so we can take off, lady!"

Lapina kept shooting moving back with the mercenaries and tossed another Fire Grenade to help the flame-throwers.

Lapina then yelped as she was picked up and slung over the shoulder of one of the Mercenaries carried her to the ship and got on quickly so the ship could take off.

"Phew thank you," She said inside the ship still only wearing her Bikini due to her lack of time to dress.
